@Ghost Sounds like my kind of place to eat, where spicy is actually spicy. Except the shrimp would kill me, so there is the downside.

RE: What MU/RPG opinions have you changed or maintained?
When I started way back in the 90's, I primarily played on WoD type MUs during the OOC Masq period. At the time this was what I knew and I enjoyed the mystery and uncertainty of not knowing if the person I was taunting in a bar scene could turn around and rip my head off at any given moment, etc.
I stopped playing for a decade, then came back about the time The Reach was at the height of its popularity (Right before some of the ICA/ICC situations TJ is talking about above in fact....and yes he WAS a dick to me, but it was all IC and I knew that ;)), and I was against the whole open wiki no OOC Masq thing.
I quickly changed my mind as I played. Being able to be a bit more open in poses knowing that everyone already knew what I was, and I didn't have to try and hide things OOCly was a weight lifted that I didn't know i had before.

@Ghost I know the feeling. I try not to even look at Kickstarter anymore because the temptation is to great.

Speaking of, I finally had a chance to play it last weekend. OMG that was a blast to play. I was >< close to hibernating and completing my goal when the freaking Queen came out to say hi.

@Auspice Man I hate that... I feel your pain.

RE: All Original Supers Game
Obvious pitfall #1 is that people are going to be their own 'original' version of Batman/Superman/Spiderman...etc. But that is to be expected, because I defy someone to name a powerset/hero that HASN'T been done in some way before.

@Auspice My company has that.

RE: Where's your RP at?
@Miss-Demeanor said in Where's your RP at?:
@Arkandel See, and I loved those rolls. Some of my favorite scenes came from one side or the other losing that roll and silly shit following. I had a character get TREED by a frenzying Gangrel in badger form. Still makes me laugh. But this is also why I tended to avoid Elysium as THE FIRST place a new character would show up. Because it provoked too many of the rolls all at once. I would generally meet people one or two at a time, and wait until I knew enough people that I could pop into Elysium and not immediately need to make a dozen rolls. And frankly... not using that mechanic felt like it was gypping the Gangrel out of their biggest weakness.
I used to fail those rolls ALL THE TIME, to the point it became an in joke in the sphere. 'Oh...there goes Kaleb fleeing from the Elysium again...'
I always found it hilarious.

RE: MU Things I Love
@Auspice Yeah, it was weird. What made it even weirder was it wasn't one, but two people. I was working at this place, and new hire came on. Started talking to her for job things, and somehow (I don't remember, this was YEARS ago) it came out that we had both MUed on a game together (and not only the same game, but our characters were heavily connected). Then come to find out her roomate also was on the same MU, and our characters were actually an item IC.
Small world sometimes...

RE: The Work Thread
@Auspice I'll trade you your 'everyone thinks it is great' for my 'your designs suck and this color looks like baby shit' comments. I'd murder for some positive feedback right now, even just a little, so I can stop feeling like however it is I am feeling right now.

RE: PC antagonism done right
I have gained good OOC friends due to them being awesome IC Antagonists. Even though we don't even play together anymore, I still keep in touch via Skype and/or other means because they were generally good people...just turns out our characters hated the shit out of each other.
I am always looking for more players of this caliber, because without conflict MU*s (or at least the character) can just stagnate.

@Seamus @Cupcake I have a therapist, and I will talk to them about it when I see them next. Thank you for the concern.

RE: What RPG SYSTEM do you want to play on a Mu*?
@SG said in What RPG SYSTEM do you want to play on a Mu*?:
@Jennkryst IKR? I do love how their vehicle scaling worked in that game. And multi action penalties were a cool way of doing things.
My favourite story about the multi action penalties was from a table top session where a jedi character saw a bad guy and wanted to attack him with his lightsabre on the first round. So he wanted to draw his LS(-1d), activate lightsaber combat(-2d for Sense and Control rolls), run across the room(-1d running check to make the distance) Jump over the guy's computer console(-1d), and then attack him(one action is free.) for a total of -5d. Well, he drew his LS no problem, ran over no problem, even jumped with all the penalties. He failed to activate Light Saber Combat, so he didn't get the swanky bonuses. His attack roll failed by so much he hit himself with his lightsabre and cut off his own leg with the thing, a scene which I think really should have made the prequels somewhere during the youngling scene.
I would want to play in that game...

I'm having a blast over there, just started a couple of characters myself.
