      Boob sweat.

The next time I play a modern day game where I have a fighter chick... I'm going to on the 'after scene' where the chick gets back from some real hard battle. Pose unhooking her bra and letting out the most highly sexual sound of relief that a human being can hear and that her partner has most assuredly never made her make.

fr taking off your bra after a 10hr work day is 100% better than getting laid.

This and scratching your feet after being on them all day in shoes that don't breathe.

@Trix hahaaha yes. That is exactly what is going on with the movies. It's like...

The empty movie theater seat in between ABSOLUTELY makes it clear that it's two dudes seeing a movie together but ARE NOT ON A DATE. They don't ever really discuss that they're putting a seat in between for this reason, but then assume that the empty seat between them exists as a COFFEE TABLE for them to put their snacks on.

This is a peeve when I go to screenings.
They over book those things. Meaning every seat is gonna be filled.

But guys invariably sit down, space out, and then you get in with the 1-3 people you came with and there's only singular seats here and there until a crowd of people are standing around with no consecutive seats and the employees have to come in and yell at them to move in closer.....

....and even then some still try to surreptitiously put their jacket or something down to 'hold' a seat until an employee calls them out specifically.

Women get SwampAss too (at least if you live in certain regions), so add the boob sweat on a hot day and you get me staring at women not wearing bras like 'Why do you do this to yourself?!'

Pro-tip: if your well endowed female pc is going around sans bra all the time, she's gonna have hella boob sweat, hold her breasts when she goes up/down stairs or runs, and be at risk for the ladies popping out if she bends over (these may still apply regardless, but they def do sans bra).

The sneezing (or coughing!) on period is totally legit. And also the discomfort when sitting or standing on those heavy days.

For the underwear-junk-adjustment? Boob adjustments. Sometimes you just gotta reach in there and fix em.

@Cobaltasaurus AUGH About 1 in 5 of my underwear does this, there are just a few pairs that will ROLL THEMSELVES DOWN MY BODY FOR NO REASON. So I'll be walking in the grocery store and my underwear is just peeling itself down the inside of my pants and I'm trying to surreptitiously fix it by shoving my arm down my pants in the middle of an aisle hoping no one rounds the corner on this space fo 10 seconds....

99% of my underwear. ....until I started wearing thongs recently. Which are apparently magic. insert shrug emoji All my normal underwear? 99% of it will have rolled itself down my ass like they're living entities that hate my butt.

I told someone years ago that thongs are like magic. Jeans fit better. There's less rolling (for me it's around my belly: doesn't matter what size they are). I got crazy looks for being an overweight girl suggesting thongs but ffs having less bunching and rolling is win.

You are lucky to get that kind of training. Most traditional programs don't mention it at all. Everything I have learned about working with parents has been trial and error, and if nothing works, I begin to only communicate though email and cc my principal on everything.

The funny thing is that I'm already applying things I'm learning in my current job. There's a lot in teaching for children that can carry over into developing documentation and training materials in a business environment.

I discussed in a meeting last week that (IMO) the reason people keep just disappearing into their laptops and tuning out during workshops (meant to introduce them to and begin teaching them the software) is because we're providing lectures only that gloss over the details and then giving them open-ended free time for the 'hands on.' I recommended we start giving them guided tasks that will apply what was in the presentation.

And as soon as this was suggested to the users as a route to begin taking, they were 100% on board and admitted they'd been having trouble grasping everything.

I'm working on alternative certification to teach right now and the courses I'm on at the moment are about these things. How to identify behavior, what methodologies work best for which kids, etc etc. It's how the video came up.

But that is a thread that goes through it all: how important parental involvement is (and ways to encourage it since, well, no one can make the parents engage if they don't want to).

IDK. Feels a lot like a disorder to me.

I get where the guy is coming from, but I think he's downplaying the negatives too much. I tell my kids (both of whom have ADHD, one mixed with OCD) that their challenge is also their superpower. Multi-tasking, trying new things, boundless energy, hyper-focus... there are aspects of ADHD that are definitely advantages in some situations. But much of our society (work/school/etc.) is centered around situations where those things are liabilities. That's why it's recognized as a disorder.

I'm not saying this guy is 100% accurate, I promise. But I think he has some very valid points (such as what Fara references here with the endless ability to try new things, the power to dive into something with an especial focus, etc) and I feel that his optimism can actually be really beneficial for someone struggling.

I know I'd be better in the workspace with meds. But I also never framed my ADD in the light of how I can flow from thing to thing so fluidly and how it's opened me to that willingness to always try new things. I'm adaptable and that's a good thing!

My main takeaway from his talk is the need for education and understanding and he was on point there. That he got rejected from a school for being ADD is something that should never happen: it's awesome he got put in one that understands and supports kids like he was (as opposed to, in the talk, when he references his roommate who struggled in a school that wasn't supportive).

I don't disagree. I also am not 100% on his claim that meds aren't necessary; just coping mechanisms.

What I did like, however, was how big a point he put on the importance of support from teachers and families. How vital education (and it's having room people with ADD/ADHD) is.

I known isn't the intention when people make these comments, but my brain always twists these kinds of suggestions (x worked for y, why don't you do it?) to this:

"I am now judging you for not doing <thing they suggested> to help with <symptom, disease, complaints>. You must not actually be hurting all that bad if you aren't going to try this."

Well, I've had people actually say things like that.

Mostly after making assumptions because fuck you I shouldn't have to justify my health conditions constantly.

'You were eating fries the other day and those are so unhealthy for you. If you only ate better you'd be fine.'
^ this is in the same lines as 'If you'd just diet you'd lose weight.' (And we know that's not the case; my thyroid and PCOS ladies TOTALLY know).

Guess what, sometimes my stomach is in such bad shape all I can eat is potato-based products, bread, rice, and baked chicken. The latter three can be bland af so lemme have my damn fried potatoes.

But seriously, those comments fall into the same lines as the people who make shitty comments about weight loss. You don't know me. You don't know my particular health issues. You don't know what I have tried.

I’m getting burnout on a considerable amount of nostalgia bait.

I don't think sequels are nostalgia bait. If every episode is "focus on an old character," then sure--but it doesn't look like that will be the case.

“Look, it’s 7 of 9! Look, it’s Data! Look, Riker!” That’s bait. It makes me worried that they will focus on these characters and not on exploring new territory.

Or almost as bad: Exploring new territory the same way they did a decade ago.

With the exception of Jeri Ryan, I don’t have faith in the other non-Stewart actors to carry a new series. I know that Paramount/CBS can hire a director good enough to manage it, and Spiner seems to be playing the same ol’ Data from the little bit that we see, so I won’t nay-say it outright, but we’ve been down this road before in different contexts.

      We will see.

It was a ComicCon trailer. It's sort of the norm to throw in 'Hey! These names you love will be making a cameo!'

And that's what I feel the others are. Cameos. They'll be there, in the background, but certainly not a focus all the time. I mean, we saw other new characters just as much if not more than them in the trailer.

@Cobaltasaurus I'm glad working out has been beneficial for you!

Sadly, I have the kind of fibro that doesn't respond well to exercise. When I was first diagnosed, I threw myself into a routine: two days a week at yoga, two days a week at water aerobics (the old ladies found this utterly charming XD), and 1 day doing 'other' (treadmill, weights, etc etc).

I was so exhausted and in so much constant pain that I wasn't able to even look for a job. I didn't MU. I pretty much did my workouts and then stared at the TV or slept the rest of the day.

(This is also, however, why I think I have something else in addition to or instead of the fibro going on. Because regular, low-impact exercise does help most people with it.)

@JinShei You should also try cheering up. Maybe smile more? Cant you just get over it? It's all in your head after all. Just eat less.

You forgot somethingsomething gluten and weed is the new Jesus.

Oh lord I fucking hate the 'I went gluten free and it cured me!'

The worst I ever encountered was someone I only distantly knew messaging me to be like 'My husband's cousin had some medical condition and she went gluten free and it cured her so I totally think that it would cure you of your fibromyalgia!'

They didn't even know what the condition the person had was. And when I explained my dietary needs and also 'no, fibro cannot be cured by diet' they got really offended.

Pro-tip: someone with a chronic illness has probably been working with doctors and doing their own research for years. Good recommendations are things like 'omg I found this heating pad that's amazing' (I have an electric lap blanket I love for this reason!) or 'My cousin's girlfriend has the same condition and she told me that <doctor> has been really helpful and understanding.'

Those are fine. Getting in my face insisting I take on some fad is not.

I found the bluetooth headphones I'd tossed into a basket randomly god-knows-how-long-ago because one of the sides was getting tinny-crackly (I mean I'd had them 2.5 years and they only cost $25 - I'D SAY I GOT MY MONEY'S WORTH)... Tried them out and whatever the issue was SEEMS to have cleared up.

This pleases me so much. I'm tired of trying to get through my day with the headphones that come packaged with the iPhone.
