Loosely based off the short stint of novels that spanned between the film and the show, perchance?

Negative. It's AU as mentioned above.

More details will be provided soon, promise!

Nothing is more important than Cyberpunk 2077.

      It is everything.

      It is my lifeblood.

(But this is the cyberpunk writer here talking. I can't help myself.)

      @Arkandel

Because Marvel has some brilliant writers. I had to watch Civil War twice because the second time I had to just sit and mentally construct the script as I watched because it was just so good.

These other movies (Apocalypse, Justice League, etc) seem to sort of phone in the script and lean into CGI and the popularity of superhero movies to carry them along.

Which is a fucking shame on WB btw because the DC animated movies are awesome.

There's also the fact that the movie that came before it was not great either.

The reboot had a strong start and then faltered badly. Apocalypse just was not good. So people had very little interest in this installment. They went from being strong to......falling flat.

      Which happens. Own it.

The only scenario I can even remember where Harley took a hit from Superman was in Injustice and she had taken one of those superhuman pills at the time.

...I wonder if the person who apped had just seen like, a panel and didn't know the whole story around it.

Because in my experience... if you can provide full justification for a thing, Staff is usually OK with it. I apped Blink once and initially got pushback on her range of teleportation (Staff wanted to say Blink had less of a range of teleportation than Nightcrawler) and I referenced the comics showing that she's gone as far as the moon. We settled on 'okay she can get there someday but she isn't there yet' because I had multiple storylines showing her range/ability.

Not just a vague 'no it totally happened this one time' type of thing. And as someone who has staffed on a comic game... That'd be what I'd expect. Okay, you want this and say it's legit for the character? Great. Give me examples. I wanna see it. And a one-off single-page reference doesn't count because sometimes weirdness happens for sake of story (or how many times have things been because of some third-party's interference? and not the character themselves? :D).

@Phase-Face I think the weirdest part of that to me is the sorcery part. Physical capabilities, okay. Association with the League, okay. Dip in the Lazarus Pit..... ehhh, depending on the reasons why and the story - I'd poss. give it. I'm not a huge Damian fan to begin with, but..... it's the sorcery part that kinda makes me ???

      @Alamias

People have a history of asking for super weird shizz on games. I think it boils down to 'I want to be this character, but I also want a little of THAT character over there so instead of making an OC, I'mma try to convince Staff.........'

I am very sorry to hear about the cancer. Any cancer scare is a difficult one to deal with and I understand that urge to go 'I'll just deal with this in silence.' My own, a few years back, was thankfully caught early and handled easily. But I had much of the same considerations so I do quite understand where the thought process comes from.

That said, I am glad to hear that they were able to take care of it and that you were able to get yourself to go through what needed to be done. Taking care of yourself is important, but it is a whole big cumbersome process at times.

There's work being done on the fire system.
It's causing alarms to go off in the sec office.

I think my head might just explode before the night is over.

I have a provision on file that I can leave if necessary for migraines but we're also woefully short-handed (someone high up pulled one of those 'let's cut a bunch of people to save money and then complain constantly about things not getting done' moves) so I'd feel bad if I leave.

Just three more hours and I can crawl under the blankets in a dark room..

    • RE: GMs: Typical Player/GM Bad Habits

While I was online / free more a few weeks back, I often put a caveat in my sign-ups (thank you Fara for the comment option in +events) that I'd drop in favor of people more suitable.

But the first come first serve is maddening. Because I've been there (we all have I imagine) when the same person or few people signed up for eeeeeverything and we just always...missed...the train. Always.

And I've been the ST with a random group that makes no sense who demands I adapt the whole scene.

As someone now who can only play on weekends and where my sign up window is very narrow (not that I'm playing anywhere rn since Notion sadly closed :(), I'd be all for providing a sentence as to why my char fits in. It'd give me a greater opportunity over luck of being present when the event gets posted. And as an ST, I'd like being able to choose from who might fit best.

Would it lead to favoritism? Maybe. But nothing stops people from sitting in RP Rooms and running only for their bffs as it is. So they'd be a real special asshole if they use an open events system just to flaunt choosing their buddies when they could run private events.

...it's rude to Google "how to make C4" while connected to the Wi-Fi on someone else's router.

      tbh I've Googled far worse.

The plight of being an author.

Anyway, the GM Bad Habit I wanna throw out there. This one def. comes from TT, but I have seen it in MUs (just less often):

The GM who thinks they can design monsters, but they don't have anyone vet/test their work.

It is really super un-fun to go up against some custom Monster-of-the-Week your GM made and is oh-so-proud-of that has every resistance ever, every advantage ever, stats way over anything similar, etc etc etc

'Oh but I based it on a CR5-'
Yeah and then you jacked it up to a CR15. While we're all level 6 and you sent four of them after us.

      Similarly to this:
Your custom creature doesn't get to just break the core system rules. 'Oh well this is a custom monster/NPC/etc so they don't adhere to the rules of initiative/social rolls/whathaveyou.' No, those rules apply to everything. There's some GM handwavium that's allowed, but when it's blatantly obvious you made something just to fuck with a single PC, it's kind of frustrating.

Put other roadblocks or challenges in the way, but a rule-breaking monster that basically just says 'ha ha nope I keel you' to a PC. That's upsetting to that PC and the party.

They do. But I just found out that the Collector's Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 won't be available in the U.S.

As far as I could tell last night, the PC Collector's Edition won't be.

PS4 and XBox will be. My guess on that front is that so far, the PC edition in the US is digital-only and being issued out by Steam and GOG who don't do physical copies of stuff.

So, well, I'll buy it for PS4. Problem solved (for me at least).

But yeah, I had no problem pulling up the pre-order page for the PS4 Collector's Edition last night on GameStop (not that I CAN pre-order it yet, but it's there).

That looks like a person being 'named' to me. Tack on the fact that individuals from the game this supposedly went down on have, three times now, sent 'emissaries' to my game to 'warn' us about this person and strongly urge us to ban them -- based on what amounts to hearsay, as no logs have been produced?

      What.

This needs branching into another thread at this point (@Arkandel) but.... what? That's just not right.

So the Twitch stream I hang out on / interact with is a local guy (met him at SXSW when I got to go) and a number of his regulars are also local. This weekend he's doing a huge 24hr charity stream for Extra Life. Spent all day hanging out in stream.

Around midnight, one of the local guys was like hey, you should come join us at (local office he works at). Turns out he'd helped organize a big game day to coincide with the charity event for his company. Friends, family, etc could come out too. Play games, hang out, etc., and the final sort of party would be there too post stream.

I haven't been feeling 100% (partly mental health partly fibro) but I decided...fuck it. I need to push myself to get out and do stuff more. And despite it being so late. Despite it meaning I've been up all night: I'm glad I did. I've been having a pretty great time.
