RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
I burnt my hand on my Instant Pot the first time I used it. Their booklet is... not... the most helpful. I totally needed videos. It took a couple uses / recipes before things 'clicked' for me.
The first thing I made came out good! But it was stressful and frustrating and led to a burn.

Toast. With cinnamon sugar. And Arizona green tea.
Chicken noodle soup.
French fries.
Sweet potatoes.
Chicken salad.
Egg drop soup.

(I wonder if I could make puppy eyes at the people I know at Green Ronin to be able to get playtest copies of that...........)
Green Ronin is very anti-piracy, I know that; there was a very long time where they refused to sell anything as a PDF. How do they feel about Mu*s?
I will get back to you on this.
OK, official word is:
Green Ronin only has permissions to make the game itself. And they would be OK so long as it didn't violate Green Ronin 'property,' but it's an ask that we get permission from the owner of the IP to run the game.
...so it's basically in that same gray area as every other game ever.
More to share:
"The Expanse RPG will be like Dragon Age, using a variation of the Modern AGE rules. Which also doesn't exist yet"If that's the case, I'm not going to bother with it. I'll stick to D20.
Hey, at least you know now so you're not waiting around for it! But yeah, it's being developed on Modern AGE.

RE: Gamertags
Does anyone on Steam have a spare 'Haunts My Dreams' card from the winter sale?
Also, anyone want a 'Choices Matter' card? I'm drowning in them.

Who wants to learn Python with me and build an awesome space system in Evennia? I've had Ideas for a couple years now.
Way ahead of ya there, been working on my Expanse game for a while now
Will be happy to help out any way I can. Just ask.
I want Expanse game. Means I don't need to make one.
It's going to be a while still because it's just me doing all of the work myself. I technically have a friend helping out but so far he hasn't done much of anything but idle and chat >.< Space is functional but still basic. Chargen (I'm using D20 Future, which will hopefully be compatible with the official Expanse RPG that Green Ronin will be releasing later this year) is coming along. Boards and Mail are in. Not much else is, though.

@sunny Uh, I didn't say that? Was there anywhere in my response where I put my foot down and was like: "ZOMG DON'T TALK ABOUT THIS!"? Seriously, why the snark? I gave my opinion about why I don't think it's an issue. That doesn't stop anybody else from discussing it or worrying about it.
She even used a data point of reference. Storium. It got a lot of attention at first (and is honestly why a shift to slower RP / web-based scares me for the future of MU*), looked really cool as a concept... I tried Storium and watched as every game I tried to join died because people would disappear and the games would just... die because you needed those people to continue and days, weeks would pass and... I never got to finish a single game. Hell, of the one I tried to start, one person even finished their character.
But it's a good example as to why we're unlikely to see a huge flood of people. I mean, it's possible, but very unlikely. Especially with the incredibly high bars we have set in other ways.

New peeve, which is I think a textbook definition of first world problems.
I just spent about (translates) $1,400 on various computer upgrading and Vive buying so that I can get room scale VR set up and working at maximum efficiency, I have a room set up for it, now I am stuck waiting on Amazon to deliver the various random connectors that I found mid process that I need to complete the setup.
No electronics stores nearby were selling DVI-D dual link splitter cables!
can I come over once it's done? I really really really wanna play Bridge Crew.

RE: The Death Of Telnet: Is It Time To Face The Music?
As far as 'graphical tie-ins' go, I gave Pueblo a good run back in the day. Like, 'played on a Pueblo-enhanced anime MU*' so I could give it a full try.
I think there's a solid reason the 'full graphical clicky' tie-ins didn't gel with roleplayers. Or why those of us who do dip our toes into MUDs from time to time have a very different mindset for that gameplay vs our usual gameplay.
It's all very fundamentally different. It's not just a matter of 'throw out telnet and make a new interface.'

@auspice I wouldn't worry about it too much. To get all the achievements you have to play through multiple times.
I figured! I'll let it sit a bit, then go back and play through again. Let myself forget it a bit so I'm no bored on play #2.
