I hate having to do this because if I'd gotten paid appropriately (thanks TWC), it wouldn't be at all necessary and TWC is making it worse by not taking calls at all. Like if you call them, they just say 'Please apply through the website.' Well I already did. Y'all just fucked me over with the way you setup my weeks.

Anyway.

I have a GoFundMe. Everything helps. I'm $470 shy of rent, roughly. Not to mention the other bills that have gone untouched this month. If I can get this or even most of it, I'll be fine. I'll be able to make it work moving forward since after those 2 lost (/unpaid/fucked) weeks, I'll be getting enough. It's just right now, I have no way of managing things.

Even just sharing it helps since you never know who might be able to throw something in. I know most everyone here is floundering.

So, Texas unemployment issues your unemployment per-year. So since my contract ended before my previous year's app was up, I was able to go right back in with minimal fuss.

Then it ended and I reapplied (as soon as it ended).
This made me wait a week before requesting benefits. (So, 1 week of income lost.)
And then when I requested it, finally, this week....... They're taking out the 'waiting week' (that you get back once you have a job).
2 weeks of income lost.

I can't pay my rent.

Here's hoping the leasing office will be kind to me in current circumstances.

Having to have a 'I need you to make wills' talk with my parents.

They're boomers and both high risk besides. But they have always, always refused to acknowledge their age. Hell, I'm in my 30s and they only began hinting that they wish I had kids a year ago. Before that it was 'we're too young to be grandparents' (I'm sorry, once all FIVE of your children are over the age of 18, you are by far not too young).

But mostly I reminded my mother of what she went through when her mom died. The will had 'disappeared' (we're still p certain her brother destroyed it while my grandmother was in care) and she and her sister had to fight their brother in court for months because he tried to take the entire estate just for himself.

While I'm more world/legal-savvy than my siblings, I have one brother who has literally wanted me dead. Sadly the threats of 'If you don't write a will, I'll ensure he gets nothing' in the past haven't worked. I'm hoping with coronavirus being a thing they'll actually do this, but they're both your typical old white boomer Republicans who if Trump says it's 'not a big deal' they'll believe him. Only upside (sort of) is that my mom never leaves the house anyway if she can help it and my father works from home.

Most utilities (and some leasing offices, other companies besides) are happy to work with people to suspend late fees, change payment dates, etc.

I need to call a few tomorrow, myself. I know in Austin, the power company is one. The internet service I use is another (Grande Communications).

Fingers crossed my apartment complex is on that list.

I fucking love Ares for the fact that I can set a photo for a room instead of having to write a desc.

(I hate writing room descs.)

I love Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon IN THEORY, but they feel so tedious at the start that I can never play for long.

..what's Animal Crossing?

It's sooooort of like Harvest Moon, but with more focus on gathering. You have a town. It's got villagers in it (there's a few dozen different ones and they can cycle through living in your town). Your goal is to improve the town and collect stuff (bugs, fish, fossils...). It's very cutesy, relaxing, and easy to play.
