This has definitely strayed from "my landlord did a bad" right into the Political section.
well now it's 'landlords and people who provide food are terrible evil people'

Mine is named Caketown.
So when you say Caketown, I CAN ONLY ASSUME you mean...
My apartment complex is offering payment plans and deferring late fees for everyone.
I've heard of a couple instances of landlords completely waiving April's rent.
But yes, some are demanding people pay regardless.
Landlords, like everyone, exist on a spectrum.
Considering Texas is refusing to acknowledge any eviction notices right now and it's a standing thing for 60 days.... He's SOL.

I come into work today to find there's construction workers working in the building. Touching things. Ignoring social distancing. 'Construction is considered essential' their boss says. Motherfuckers are -installing countertops in an unused office space-. Same for the assholes at WeWork. They stay open and there's random dudebros touching all the doors, ignoring distancing and going all over the place.
I am legit just not patrolling the building today. Fuck that. Gonna stay here. And sanitize.
Teeechnically he's not wrong.

But the intent behind construction being 'essential' was to ensure things that are needed (additional social services infrastructure or housing or...) can still get done. Not.......letting your crew fuck around on a job no one needs rn.
Now. I do think you could report the practices of the crew if they aren't being safe.

@Goblin 2 people here. -TWO-
Time to decide which kids have to live in the yard! >.>
Austin has banned any gatherings over 5 (I believe it's five; relatively low number regardless) people outside of private dwellings.
They foresaw the 'but I have a big family!' issue.

Black kitty has bloody spots in the thin hair in front of her ear. It doesn't seem like they bother her, but they are worrying me. In a normal world I wouldn't think twice about scheduling a vet appointment and taking her in.
In this world I'm not sure it is serious enough to go outside.
She is acting totally normal (if a bit more cuddly than usual.) I only noticed because she put her head in my face.
My cat gets the same. Little scabs just in front of her ears.
In the case of my cat, I know what it is: over scratching. She scratches her noggin too hard and nicks herself.

I'm closing my GoFundMe. A friend just pointed me to a friend of his who was offering to help people and she sent me everything else I need.
I'm.... in shock, tbh. Like, completely. I've literally been praying daily (and am not religious) for a way to figure this out. To be able to pay bills, feed myself, feed my cats, etc..
So, help is out there. It may not be easy to find (and you may have to swallow anxiety, fear, pride, etc. to talk to people), but it's there.
Glad to hear it. Some help is on the way though, Unemployment benefits get a massive increase once it gets signed into law, plus a stimulus check. So keep hope alive.
Yeah, I've passed that news (unemployment) along to a few people I know who are out of work due to this.

I have some really amazing people in my RP circle right now and I really appreciate it.
I miss you being in mine, I admit it. You took being a cold bitch to new exciting lows. XD

As a note, re: testing... For anyone not following the news, Austin is pretty much run out of tests. They can only offer them to people hospitalized right now. So if you end up with symptoms, I'd monitor/isolate rather than spending money (and risk of exposure) on a doctor visit.
Until there's more tests, that is.
I have been in more pain today than I have in a very long time. I woke up and my legs/knees immediately exploded into pain. I couldn't even lift/bend my leg enough to get in the shower. I had to lie down for a number of hours, mid-day, because just sitting up and moving my arms was excruciating.
It might be a fibro flare, but it's not like any I've ever had before. The worst has finally tapered off, but I still have to cling to walls/furniture to walk around my apartment.

If nothing else, I hope posting that here will minimize the "good, maybe violence will wake people up/cut some of the diseased flesh from our society" responses from people who are comfortable in the certainty that their own blood shall remain safely inside their skins and this fact somehow makes them arbiters of who else should bleed for society's benefit.

@Auspice Is your state not one that is doing the 'freeze' on Evictions?
They are, but I suspect late fees are still a thing.
And having had to pay late fees before due to an online payment system fucking up, you can find yourself with nearly $200 worth in just a week. I won't get paid again for 2 weeks.
@RightMeow thank you, I didn't notice I grabbed my link vs the public one. D'oh.
