Anyone play it? Thought about looking into it and getting into it but unfortunately, no one plays it around here and with the toddler it is increasingly harder to host tabletops here at my home (last thing I need is Little Girl Amin taking the dropships off the board and yelling, "ball! ball!)

Also, anyone try Mechwarrior Online? I don't like MMORPGs that much but I do like strategic combat play with a team.

Played Jeon's Suk physician for some time. Then played Eduard until it went belly up.

I am a lifter so I cannot see the need for a fitbit. Though one thing I have found useful are these wedding bands for lifters.

Mechwarrior/Battletech

I ran a LARP once at my home in Louisiana. Well, to be honest it was a murder mystery night, complete with dinner, drink, and fancy dress. It ended quickly with my toddler daughter waking up and announcing, "Poop! I poop!" We had a good laugh and just ended the night with snacks and booze.

Which is why I am curious if people have ideas on how?

Premise (open to criticism and adjustment):

It is the year 491 after Aegon I conquered Westeros. In the War of the Five Kings, Daenerys returned to her rightful place on the Iron Throne. With her Dothraki Army, her Unsullied, and the houses once loyal to the Dragons, she took Westeros. With her dragons and magic from the East, she ended the threat of the White Walkers with the help of the Night's Watch in a massive battle that collapsed the Wall. Daenerys reigned for thirty long and good years, with her nephew Aegon siring progeny on her.

But over two-hundred years later, a crisis erupts. King Lucerys, the first of his name, is a lackwit. He is the last of the Targaryens. Years of Targaryen inbreeding have rendered him sterile, mentally disabled, and physicallyhandicapped. Dying at the age of thirty, Westeros is without a king. And they turn to an unlikely candidate....

Malabhar Qho , the king of the Red Flower Vale in the Summer Islands, is part Targaryen. His grandmother, Rhaenerys, was given to his predecessor in marriage to seal an alliance between the Seven Kingdoms and the Summer Islands to stop piracy along the Narrow Sea. Envoys from King's Landing now go to the Summer Islands to offer Malabhar the crown, and to inform him that with this succession, he not only controls a kingdom, but an empire.

But there are those in Westeros who question this succession. Talk of banners being raised from various families against Qho have been whispered. Qho has even converted to the Faith of the Seven as a gesture to assimilate, but there are those who say he will never be a true Westerosi. And while there was great cheering when Qho's banner - a red phoenix on a field of sky blue - replaced the Targaryen flag at King's Landing, several sneers in the crowd could be made out.

It is a time of change and culture clash in Westeros. I'm open to suggestions. Ideas. Criticisms?

Yeah. I just got done doing Stronglifts 5x5 the past 4 months (went from 135lbs to 150lbs, deadlifting 280lbs. FTW). Now I'm looking for something else...Probably going on to the Texas Method since now I can't progress on my lifts like when I started.

I thought about getting a fitbit. But I lift weights mostly so I don't know how useful it would be.

Something that crosses Mad Men with WoD might be interesting. San Francisco during the Summer of Love might be pretty interesting to explore.

As much as I love my Lord and Ladies MUs, I think it would be very difficult to implement in WoD. And then you always get into bitch fights with normal people who allow fluidity of history, mannerisms, and culture and the Nymerias of the MU*ing world who sacrifice fun for canon.

I think the problem is that when I think of a true Lord and Ladies style MU*, I think of Hilary Mantel's "Wolf Hall" where commoners can actually rise up, and make a difference (see Thomas Cromwell).

Tourney/Wedding Feast/Dance Flirt Ye Olde Medieval Court gets boring.

I am kind of inclined to propose Essos. Set it in Lys. Then everyone can be a platinum haired princess. Though Cirno might be onto something. Asshai is essentially Westeros China.

Or something like that...I know I have proposed this before but I am reviving it again.

I do not have the coding talents nor the time to take the effort to design a grid but the game can certainly be played as a sandbox elsewhere (like MUS*H). With that in mind throw me your setting ideas...

I will admit it. I always wanted to play a Jedi. But I always found the MU*s that had so many fucking rules about who could be a Jedi and how many years they had to play that I fucking just didn't want to deal with Star Wars altogether.
