      All MU*s devolve to this. It is BigDaddyAmin's Law. It is known.

      If it is set in Washington DC, I'd play Potomac by Night.

      I think it would be the point of the admins, or at least the players, to be mature and adults, to understand that this is a game.

      Another idea would be to create an entirely fictional nation based off the United States.

      So, I've been keeping up with the election, watching reruns of West Wing, and the new season of House of Cards.

      Was there ever a political/White House MUX? If so...what are the mechanical issues that would cause it not to work? (other than a complete lack of knowledge of the average MUSHer on US Government).

      @deadculture

      Warhammer 40K does the same thing.

      As a thought to Bobotron's idea there was a recent show on the SyFy channel called Ascension. I think it was cancelled but the premise is about a generation ship that launched during the Cold War of the 1950s. However, it turns out to be a social experiment (the generation ship is actually a contained fabrication for the subjects and their descendants to test out the possibility of long-term sublight spaceflights).

      Maybe a generation ship of aliens? With a set nobility and caste system?

      I like Dangerous Liaisons.

      I still like the idea of a colony somewhere out in the flung far reaches of space. Primitive aliens who are essentially enslaved by the nobility. Maybe I'm just thinking of my Haitian MUSH idea that I've had for years.

      Sigh. Cirno isn't here to make fun of my white ass listening to R&B.

      Anyway. How does Transformers turn into a TS factory? Mechanical vulvas?

      But for this game I am thinking less EvE Online, more of a combination of Dune, Red Rising, and Old Man's War.

      Ehh. Either way for the majority of players it might turn into a TS factory. So this will be the soundtrack:

      (Don't laugh. This is the kind of stuff I listen to when I get down. In real life. I don't know what other people listen to when they are stroking it up something fierce. Comment as you see fit.)

      I thought that Amarr vessels were pretty symmetrical? The Minmatar vessels look like shit in my opinion but then again they are supposed to look like shit. The Gallente crafts look like something my toddler blew out of her nose.

      The Amarr Titan bothers me though. It looks like a giant horse dildo flying through space.

      @Misadventure

      I am down with art deco ships - something like the Amarrians from EvEOnline.

      We can just hire Nymeria to say, "No, you can't play a hedge knight!"

      I'd be interested in offering input. Everyone is coming up with awesome ideas so far.

      I kind of like the idea of maybe someonething...colonial. Human lords and ladies ruling over a colony of some galactic empire. Again, with like the "space conquistadors." Spain in Mexico AD 40,000. Make plantations where they grow or mine some precious raw material or luxury commodity.

      And laserswords. Yeah. Laserswords.

      Is the Kickstarter over? I could have donated a few Ben Franklins their way.

      Well, I must say after downloading Mechwarrior Online and playing it....eh. If only there was a gaming community nearby where I could learn Battletech. I have been watching played-bys on YouTube of MegaMek and it is cool.

    • RE: Battletech Tabletops and Mechwarrior Online?

      Well I have never played Battletech either. Just the Mechwarrior FPS from the late nineties early 2000s.

      The Community Warfare thing looked cool but honestly, maybe a tabletop community might be better.
