@Derp I'm aware you didn't have much power in how that situation could have been handled by the powers that be over there. I was aware of that then and I'm aware of that now. However, whether it was your intention or not, your statements of 'we (which is you stating that you were speaking for the staff there) know there's a problem but we aren't going to do anything about it' came off as anything but reassuring.
I have no judgement of you as a person. I do not know you in real life and have no intention of trying to know you in real life (not a personal snipe, I do my best to keep internet/RL as separate as possible). If your characters were the ones I think I remember them being, I even had fun RPing with you there. You could be a he-man woman hater, just like you could equally be a defender of women's rights. But you are coming off as someone who is uncompassionate for victims.
This most recent post, whether you are intending to come across it as such, reads like this to me: "I was able to handle my assault in this manner and anyone who doesn't handle it the same as me is weak."
Let's continue with that tiger example but now in a general manner instead of that particular instance: You're stating that a person that was mauled by a tiger needs to SPEAK UP before they are taken to the hospital to heal. The victim should be allowed to heal before they come out to talk about the attack. Hell, maybe they won't ever speak up because the tiger knows the best way to prevent a victim from speaking is to tear out their throat and take their voice away.
I think the main issue others have with you (maybe I'm wrong and just doing my best to give you the benefit of the doubt), is that in spite of your best intentions (and they could be really good intentions!) you are coming off as victim blaming. Maybe some victims are 'powerless', as you put it. That's still not the fault of the victim. The people in charge of the house should have removed that tiger before it hurt anyone. And EVEN THEN it's still the tiger's fault, not even the people in charge of the house, for being the predator that they are.
