I just realized that it is probably not a sign of a healthy work environment to obsessively check the jobs board to see who has officially resigned for next year. Like, we all KNOW who is quitting, but when will they do the formal paperwork for HR to post the opening.
That sounds like a university.
@runescryer said in D20 for Ares?:
Just wondering if there's code developed to plug D20/3e/Pathfinder into Ares.
I made a pretty basic dice roller that can handle multiple kinds of polyhedrals and use comments on what's being rolled but is not set up currently to pull any kind of sheet stats because I honestly have no idea how to do that. If someone wanted to take that skeleton and run with it they're more than welcome to.
There's a game currently in the works that's bringing Pathfinder 2E into Ares.
That's the only one I know of.
Upvoting purely for that gif. That is glorious.
I don't think I play with you anywhere but if it's 30 minutes for something important? Whatever. Everyone has my blanket permission to do this always.
Picard just continues to be absolutely amazing. Chef's freaking kiss to this season.

Some asshole thought it was a good idea to put the PAINT Pan right in front of our door, and then knock so we could open it for him to paint.
Guess who got paint paws.
Damn. That sounds like a rough day.
To be fair, most men don't know how their own body works, much less a woman's.

And thus the noodle wars began.
I will fight the al dente war until the streets run gold with olive oil.

Oh yes darling, your delightfully undercooked pasta salad is just the way I like it
I will take "delightfully undercooked pasta salad." David's pasta is like, "Oooh, mashed potatoes! ...oh. Spaghetti, you say..."

Speaking of old timey diseases that I was sure we got rid of along the way, polio is apparently still here.

Yeah, St. Petersburg was quite an experience, but it did not fall due to her actions.
I stand corrected then!
@tributary said in GMs and Players:
Because they absolutely thought they'd get away with things, just as you say.
But they did get away with it on other games. How long did they basically run the Reach and its various iterations behind the scenes? I know they did similar on Haunted Memories. IIRC there was a game set in St. Petersburg that suffered from the same issue, though that one was shorter-lived.
Even as a known figure it got glossed over in favor of 'this is not my problem player look at all the fun she creates and all these people willing to back her play'.
So I think the original point still stands. As much as it might chap some people's asses to think you can't just take someone's word for something and bring down the hammer of god -- we've seen how that can go wrong. Even with highly visible examples, over almost a decade, over several games. The more subtle ones probably never get called out.

@tributary I wonder if people aren't kinda forgetting that VASpider, in their heyday, had, like, all the bona fides and then some. So if they were saying Abelard was abusive, you'd also have at least half a dozen Flying Spider Monkeys confirming it, and assorted fans saying, "I know VASpider, they would never lie about something like that," and very likely your own experience of an active, helpful, and fun-creating player who didn't seem like the sort of person who'd accuse someone they barely ever saw of harassment. So you might not believe Abelard at all. And if you did but there was a level of ambiguity or a common 'both of you have been dicks,' type situation, well, Spider had the goodwill points.

Asking somebody who wants "total" and "amount" on the same spreadsheet what the difference is between the two columns, and getting the word "amount" as the bulk of the total definition and "total" for the bulk of the amount definition.
THAT IS NOT HELPFUL, BRENDA.
(eta: think like, 'the amount is the total paid, and the total is the amount we paid')

@alamias Yeah. We have a few stories with this bitch.
You should call the police. If the apartments won't take action, the police will. That's still some manner of theft. Potentially trespass.
@ganymede said in Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff:
have you considered getting a P.O. Box?
This is one solution. Another solution is to do what I did -- request that they hold all package deliveries at the post office for pickup instead of delivering them to the home. I had an issue with someone constantly stealing our amazon boxes and my post office staff just gave me a little form to fill out, and they would leave a little notice in my mailbox that I had a package waiting. It was really nice.
@ganymede said in Forum wonk:
I will (likely) personally bear the set-up cost.
@silverfox said in Forum wonk:
I dunno if I speak for anyone else, but this place has come to mean a lot to me, and I would really like to contribute to the cost. We got you.
I would like to second Silverfox's thing. For all that we snipe at each other on this forum sometimes, this place is a good thing full of good people. I would also contribute to any costs to keep such an endeavor going, and I know that a bunch of others have made similar noises.
