I've thought about this in the past, but using Astro City or 2012-present Valiant as a base universe. That way, even though all the canon heroes had left, there would (hopefully?) be less fighting over legacy connections just because most players would likely be unfamiliar with the comic or feel a need to have close connections to the canon heroes. But maybe it would still happen anyway.

RE: Coming soon: Lawless Space MUSH
I've been crawling along with this, although I think the space I'm trying to carve out for it has some decent overlap with Lost Dominion (the staff of which definitely have their shit together more than I do!)--so I find myself wondering if I should continue on or turn my attention elsewhere.

RE: Avatar / Korra game considerations
I know that the Fate SRD has the Stormcallers example mechanic that could be reshaped just a bit.
Or maybe take some of the basic work of World of Elements to build on?

RE: Feast of Legends MU(The Wendy's RPG)
@Ghost I can help a little with that: https://twitter.com/ZweihanderRPG/status/1179938859276259328
Here’s the skinny on #FeastOfLegends: it was made by VMLY&R, the agency I worked before leaving to @AndrewsMcMeel. It was created by @TonyMarin & several talented former co-workers on the @Wendys team @VMLYR.

RE: Comic MU*s
I also just found the site for Maelstrom Earth, but other than seeing it's up, I know nothing of the game. http://maelstrom-earth.wikidot.com/

RE: Urban Shadows
I've run/played it a few times, but I'm not sure if that's familiar enough for what you need.

RE: Urban Shadows
@JinShei No, I don't think I ever made any house rules/adjustments when my group played it.

RE: What would a superhero game need to be/do to bring in a new player base?
@ThatOneDude Yes, I am a Fate fan! I mentioned Venture City as a possibility in my initial post, so I'm definitely considering it.
Also, I appreciate all the feedback so far. I'm surprised by the emphasis on going original character-only, but I suppose that would be a potentially huge component of bringing in a new/different player base.

RE: Help!
The one I see advertised most recently there is 'Flames of Darkness,' a MUCK at kydance.net:2008.

RE: Help!
@Apu Sure thing. It's a shame HeroMUX closed down--I had quite a few irons in the fire.

Suitable system for a gritty fantasy game
I jokingly posted "Ill Met in Novigrad?" in another thread about games we'd like to play on, and it's made me realize how much I, like some others, would love to see a dark and gritty fantasy (non-Lords & Ladies) game, whether it's based on the Witcher, Lankhmar, or whatever.
So, I find myself wondering what sort of system might work to support the development of one.
I've been a fan of Blades in the Dark, but I don't think that would scale well (working with the laughable presumption that more than 0 players would ever check this hypothetical MU* out).
Zweihander is a WFRP 2e retroclone that might work well, but it may be too crunchy (maybe?) for some. Also, there's lots of assumed PC death that MU*ers may not want to deal with.
Thoughts?

RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
@Thenomain There was absolutely a point where I thought about making a Fables game that ran on Fate Core ... at which point I realized no one would want to check it out and so shelved that idea.
