Most states permit the taking of property in times of war for the public welfare.
Why they have not yet done this where you are I do not know.

Act I, Scene I
Patient: Oh! You have twins?
Partner: Yes. (shows pictures)
Patient: (stares at pictures for a few seconds)
Partner: They are bi-racial.
Patient: Oh.
Partner: My partner is Chinese.
Patient: Chinese?
Partner: Yes.
Patient: (pause) Are you taking any special precautions?
Partner: What do you mean?
Patient: I mean, you could just move out for a while so that they can be together and not have to worry about getting sick.
(End scene as Partner chokes Patient with stethoscope.)
Act I, Scene II
Partner: So, let me get the test results —
Patient 1: What do you think of the coronavirus?
Partner: Well, I think it is something we should all be aware of and take steps to —
Patient 2: You know, I don’t know what the deal is.
Patient 1: Yes, I agree.
Patient 2: I mean, if it’s from China, we should just round them up and put them in internment camps.
Partner: (stunned silence) I’m sorry, internment camps?
Patient 2: Yup.
Partner: Like what we did to the Japanese in World War 2?
Patient 2: Mm-hmm.
Partner: That is the most racist thing I have ever heard.
Patient 1: Really?
Patient 2: Well, if it works —
(End scene as Partner shoots both patients in the face.)
Aside from the endings, these events actually happened to my partner over the past three work days.

In regards to legal advice, for those of us in "essential businesses", especially involving grocery stores (people who did not sign up to be emergency first responders), what recourse does someone have if they are forced to come in to work or otherwise risk job loss, despite the virus situation?
Unfortunately, it depends on your employer. Some will let people take leaves of absence without fear of job loss; others, not so much.
More than that is a matter of opinion only.
I hope this might help people. Apparently, it is a list of jobs available for people that want to work remotely, updated as of the end of February.
Absolutely. I would be happy to anony-drop stuff to her, if that would be easier. PM me what they need and I’ll get it out there.
I concur with Admiral.
I live in the Dayton, Ohio area. I am happy to assist anyone for anything. Legal advice, of course, is my specialty, but I have time, cash, and a pretty good network of resources to draw from.

Being diabetic is also considered a "high-risk" category for covid in and of itself.
Then there doesn't seem to be much of a choice.
Presuming you have no issues personally, despite being diabetic, perhaps you could stay away from your wife and mother-in-law?
I know a few people sleeping on couches in their basement.

Why are New Yorkers panicking? Because you are.
Why would they not?
New York is one of the densest metropolitan areas in the world. It is about 2.5 times that of San Francisco and Los Angeles. Milan has a population density just above San Francisco. So if New Yorkers are paying attention to what's happening in Milan, they have every reason to panic.
If your chances of catching the disease increases by population density, then a New Yorker is more likely to catch it than someone living in Milan. That's something to consider. New Yorkers are younger than the Milanese, but that doesn't mean they can't catch it and pass it to someone they care about.
These are tough times.
The only way you could let anyone down is by taking steps that would increase your risk.
Godspeed and be well.
I hope all goes well and that he keeps safe and healthy!

The best advice I've seen so far is if you're sick, assume you have it, and take the appropriate steps to not infect anyone else.
The advice I give to people is to assume you have it, even if you are not sick, and take appropriate steps not to infect anyone else.

So it looks like I might have COVID19, but there aren't enough tests in my area. Yay >.<
Keep hydrated, fed, and as healthy as can be. Treat it like the COVID, and you should be fine.

My gym requires trainers to sanitize every surface one of us touches when we're done touching it, not users, because they can't accept responsibility for users cleaning equipment.
If your users aren't cleaning the equipment, no trainers are going to keep me at your gym.
@GreenFlashlight said in Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.:
If you get sick on their premises, there's at least an argument to be made that your illness is their responsibility for not disinfecting the facility; and if they get sued, I can't imagine their business owner insurance covers pandemics.
As someone who handles commercial and premises liability coverage issues often:

I suspect it's less about your safety than their fear of legal liability.
What liability?

I know there's got to be some way to make the place work, I'm just looking to the mushing community to see if people have ideas.
I wish I had more of a response for you. Maybe narrowing down the sorts of PCs? Like, pick a -verse to work with -- like the Batman-verse, for example -- and stick with it. That might make it easier for players to figure out connections in game.
For me, there's nothing wrong with the theme or setting.
I just had little traction with my PC. Perhaps it was for lack of effort? I spent the better part of a few weeks logging in regularly, and there just didn't seem to be anything happening. Except for Batgirl, no one even attempted to pull others into their RP, and this seems to be a problem for me on all super games.
