When players are so awesome that the PrP you run is basically running itself. Had two of those lately, and can't wait to do more stuff.

RE: RL things I love
The absolute relief when dad calls and tells me 'We got our first shot of the vaccines today.'
It felt like a ton of bricks lifted from my shoulders.
Edited to add: Now we can continue fixing up the cabin and spend time there TOGETHER - it's nearing spring here and we barely went to the cabin last year cause of the virus. But now we can!

RE: Arx Alts
I can't stop talking about my characters everywhere so no secret either. I play Jyri and Evaristo.

RE: Darkwater: The Return
I returned to the hobby on Darkwater after being away for years and years, and enjoyed every single minute of it. I had more activity on that game than on many big ones. Loved it, and am grateful for the chance to come back to the hobby with so nice people. Cobalt, I hope we run into each other on other games - we never did get to RP much, but I loved the scenes we did have. And I'm going to follow the little crowd to FC once it opens. Audgrim as a lifeguard on the beach - how could I go wrong with that, eh?

RE: MU Things I Love
When someone reaches out with something cool, that your character happens to know a lot about and you get a chance to he helpful and feel a bit cool yourself for doing that. It feels like all that time spent digging into something is worth it when being able to share and help someone else move their story forward.

RE: Discworld: The MUSH
I've only been in two scenes but my character has already done an anti-burglary, together with two vampires, and returned stolen jewelry under the logic that if the jewels are returned, the crime never happened - so they broke in where they were stolen and put them back. This, of course, because otherwise the jeweler would be unhappy, the vampire who happened to carry the jewels would be unhappy cause everyone would assume he stole them, the Watch would be happy cause they don't have to do paperwork. And no, he didn't steal them to begin with. (He's a watchman who used to be a thief.)
That's how you fight crime. You make it go away entirely - to have never happened.
Edited to add: https://discworld.mush.website/scene/9 - in case someone wanna poke at a log.

When a story ends in the absolute best way possible, thanks to an amazing person. Thank you, @Herja, and thank you to those witnessing it.
Don't forget the roads!

RE: Crafting Thread Part ?
Should I post Evaristo cat? I did before in an Arx thread I think. Though I also got it in his game gallery.
It is the best one, of course. Not biased at all. Really.

It makes me so happy to look at. Thank you, Crawfish. -
RE: RL things I love
My local car shop.
So, I live an hour from the nearest town, and there are literally only 2 different companies in this village. One is a restaurant along the high way - where they have amazing food, and actual chefs, and that is fully booked every day. Neighboring them is a car shop that has been there since forever, in fact, the current owner is the son to the one that started this place up. My family has bought their cars there since that place opened, and since I moved back home, I've been buying 2 cars from them as well.
So, I booked service on it, cause it was coming up, and I asked to have it washed and cleaned (inside and outside) at the same time. But yesterday they called me and said they wouldn't have time to wash it, they were overwhelmed with work. I didn't have a problem with that at all, I'd just rebook it for some day soon.
Went to pick the car up today, and was paying, and it was just the service I was gonna pay for, since they'd cancelled the washing. Went out to get my car - and the car is all clean, outside and inside. So, I of course go inside to let them know it was washed after all, and I wanted to pay for it, since there clearly had been a misunderstanding.
Now, any regular shop anywhere else would of course accept my money. They? They just went 'Nah, it's fine. If you want you can bring some 'fikabröd' (pastries/cookies/similar) some day.' So, I said I would definitely bring over some fikabröd soon.
I don't know if it is the power of Swedish Fika in play here, or if it's cause my family and I are loyal customers, but man, that felt nice. The wash should have cost 500 SEK, roughly 60 dollars, so that was a fair chunk of money they just let me keep.
I'm gonna bring over some seriously good fikabröd.

RE: Grayson's Playlist
Evaristo also appreciates Raymesin because he isn't chatty. Means he can talk endlessly. Of course, Raymesin has managed to make Evaristo be quiet. There was a knife involved and some not so veiled threats of violence...
Best of times!

RE: Good TV
So, about Chernobyl. This post will be a bit of a self-pity one, and a realisation that I had a trauma when I was a kid that I've kept ignoring for years and years. I mean, not the sort of trauma that has seen me in need of professional help, but now that this TV show is there, I've had a growing sense of unease and I've realised just how BAD it was back then, and how it has colored the lives of so many afterwards. Even people far, far away from that nuclear power plant.
In 1986 I was 11 (I was turning 12 later that year). I live in Sweden, my family is a farmer and forester family, we lived largely off the land, we picked berries, hunted, ate the meat off our own animals, drank the milk from our own cows. Not much was bought in a store back then, food wise. Sure, butter and things, I mean, we weren't churning our own damn butter, it wasn't the 1800s.
Remember, I was 11 at the time, I remember this through the lense of a kid, watching my parents and uncles (who all were involved in the farming/foresting somehow) be very scared. I remember we were being kept indoors a lot. We weren't allowed to go out into the nearby forest and play, until we knew more what was happening, how it'd affect us. Eating berries, mushrooms, or any meat hunted, was a big no-no. The word 'bequerel' was on everyone's lips, constantly. How much bequerel was safe? When would we be able to eat off the land again? In one year? Ten? What about our domestic animals? Would we all get cancer now?
Obviously, we weren't dropping dead. The real suffering happened by those directly involved in that accident at Chernobyl, but man. It was scary. It was terrifying.
So, I want to watch this show and I don't want to watch it. I'll probably watch it at some point. And once more get angry at humanity's penchance for ruining their own world.
Maybe this isn't the best forum for cathartic posts, but fuck it. Chernobyl was bad. That they made a TV show about it, is a good reminder for everyone. I have barely thought about that in over a decade, but now it all comes back and we shouldn't forget.

RE: Atticus' Playlist
@Atticus Best tip I can give you - read up on your house's story and ask them for the brief (if you chose to be a noble), and then do not worry overly much about learning all the coded commands, and getting clues, or any of that for a few weeks. Focus on the RP.
I almost left Arx cause I felt stressed for not knowing where to even begin and the coded commands were all new and I felt old and dumb for not getting it. But they will sort of come dynamically along the way. Don't forget it's still about RP - I did. It got much better once I relaxed and just enjoyed meeting people.

RE: Interest in a Discworld game?
YES! I AM VERY INTERESTED! If you do this, I'll be there. I've literally been begging for a Discworld game for years.
