Seriously, go for men's razors. The only thing you are paying for with a woman's razor is being a woman. Seriously, it's the same damn razor. They make it pink and frufy and call it a woman's razor and charge us more. (At least with Gilette)

When I first started coming to WORA way back in the day it was to know about the bad and skeevy shit that was happening on games so I could avoid them. Having to dig through posts to find the magical shifter breasts, or toe-rings of doom to find out about a place just means I pretty much skim over everything except what interests me, and generally ignore the ads because I know only good things said about place doesn't mean everything is all good.

I'm old now and have been doing this for way too long, I don't have the time to get invested in a place, only to be broadsided by the things I would have avoid the place for had I known.

So I was mowing the front lawn last night, and this guy was walking towards me on the sidewalk. His phone rings and he starts frantically waving at me and trying to flag me down as he gets closer to the house. I cut the engine and he tells me not to start up again until he's further down the street because he can't hear his cellphone. And then he turned and walked away as if I was going to do it. Started back up again before he had finished turning around. He flipped me the bird, but got off my lawn pretty quickly.

People are so damn entitled now. Seriously. I keep joking about getting a tiny house in the middle of nowhere and filling it with cats, but seriously!

I miss when I would randomly thrust plot on to people who were sitting in public areas. Because I was bored. I didn't have anything else to do as staff, and usually I had approved the sheets and knew about the dark secret or what have you. Or just... to do something but not really in the mood for personal RP. But that seemed to fall out of favour with players. They were already doing something, in a private scene, you see. Never mind it was in a bar on the grid. Never mind people had been looking for RP when I cooked up my scheme.

But now if you even look at a sheet when you aren't on a job to look at that sheet, you are wrong wrong wrong. Or at least if not wrong, you get a side-eye. If I can't be trusted to look at sheets in the first place, I probably shouldn't be staff.

For me when I played, it was the playing in a plot, not who ran it. Well, it was a little bit who ran it, but mostly because of style, not substance.

The whole 'entertain me!' thing is weird too. I remember way back when I used to run things, I would get bored, see people sitting out in public, do a quick scan of their bg to refresh myself if they had a mortal enemy or something, page if they minded if I joined and threw something at them. And people liked it.

But when I stopped running things pages would be met with, "Noo we're in a private RP!" And lots of people would sign up for events. (And I know some people don't mind large scenes, but I tried to include whoever I could. I was often running a couple of scenes at a time to keep everyone entertained.)

My PCs generally try to keep people involved (murder board, anyone?) so much so that I think I will need to make an exposition fairy somewhere, just because. I jump on every offer for RP that I can and find some reason to be there to keep things going. I have no issue with bar or coffee shop RP. Sometimes a story isn't always an adventure. You need some down time too.

With @Cobaltasaurus 's +events, anyone can run a thing if they want to. But sometimes some people really can't run things. They either don't feel confident in their abilities, are tied up by staff having to approve every little thing before they can run it, or don't have the time to plan things out. And being spontaneous doesn't seem to be as appealing to people now.

TL;DR: If there is at least one other person around, there is something you can do. If it's not obvious, you can make up a reason.

How about this: Recently a female player's PC met a male's one time on the grid. They didn't know each other OOC beforehand and the scene was completely neutral. Within a couple of days that person was sending them pages when she was playing with other people, pestering her with pages, etc. This was happening just a bit under the threshold of actionable harassment (possibly by design) but the player in question was perfectly capable of handling it on her own, setting limits and cutting that person off.

Honestly? I would totally RP more male characters, if I could actually RP male characters. But I'm not male, so whenever I try they become obvious caricatures and it would defeat the point of playing a male character not to be noticed as a female anyway. Just so I could get some RP.

Or I could play a lesbian, I suppose. But there is just way too much porn out there. Tangent: If in sex or RP you aren't willing to do a thing, don't assume I will want to do a thing because you ask me. Guys who want a threesome with two girls because it would be cool damn well better be willing to have a threesome with two guys or gtfo. And that's why playing gay and female doesn't work because those guys who page because you are female probably assume all girls secretly love the cock anyway.

But as to what to do about it? Women (But anyone really) needs to feel comfortable to be able to say no. Once you've said no and it continues, take it to staff. I'm not saying someone has to be banned, but if it doesn't stop I'll remove myself from the situation.

But as I said at the beginning, I'm not a fan of females who perpetuate the poor helpless female stereotype. I mean, sure, you be you, but it just makes the rest of us look bad and doesn't help anyone but yourself. Stop telling all guys it's okay to treat all women that way. That's what pisses me off. Just because it's okay for some, it's not okay for everyone. It's not jealousy or anything because I'm not as attractive as the girls who do streams in bikinis, and I'm certainly not telling people to be someone they aren't, but you have to be aware of the message you are putting out there.

Sorry, getting ranty, obviously something I deal with a lot and am passionate about.

TL;DR what do you do about it? If it bothers you, tell the person to stop whatever it is that bothers you. You don't have to explain why; if you aren't comfortable, you aren't comfortable. If they can't respect that, escalate.

I will be doing it again this year, this will be my fifth year doing it and I thought I would get the word out about it early. I know money is tight, but if you sponsor me 25 cents per hour, it's $6. Thank you. She's not suffering now and she had an awesome life with us after we rescued her, I think. Stubborn Scottie to the end though; her ears were up, she was wagging her tail and still investigating the office when we took her in. Just need to give the daughter even more love and attention, as they had never been separated more than one wanting to go outside and the other stayed inside. And that was just a way to get more cookies because you can't give something to one and not the other.
