I liked Grim Dawn, I thought it was a fair entry into the Diablo style genre of games with enough things to make it different. The questing and story was fun. And the way the game handles abilities and character leveling were also enjoyable.
I also liked the Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. Buy the final cut if you get it, that game is worthwhile with several interesting classes which really change how you play the game. The story is pretty linear no matter your class like Diablo is, but I found it to be a great game and have an interesting story.
And if you want more shooty in your Diablo style game the new Warhammr 40k Inquisition - Martyr game just released for Early Access. The promotional copy that I have is pretty limited and there are some people playing it on Youtube. I think that it's going to be an interesting entry into the genre and Warhammer 40k seems to fit well with the way they are doing it so far. The drawback...it is Early Access and unfinished so you will be getting something in development. So you have to weigh that carefully like you would any game in Early Access.
ETA: While the Warhammer game is in Early Access I will say that there is enough of a game to dig into and have fun with. I recommend looking up some of the Youtube LPs to get a fair approximation of it if you are interested in this one.
Lastly...Path of Exile is very much inspired by Diablo and that game is huge. There is literally hundreds of combinations for building a character and the game has a lot of promotion going on for it. It is like any other MMO with constant updates and changes that come frequent enough to keep the game interesting.
