    • RE: What do you call fizzy, non-alcoholic drinks?

It's a strange thing. One side of the city where I grew up calls it "soda." The other side calls it "pop." It's this strange disconnect since the most popular restaurant on each side of town is a Bob Evans.

When I went to Louisville in Kentucky, everything there was "coke." The waitress literally said, after I ordered a Pepsi, "One Pepsi-coke."

For my fellow MechWarriors, the Rogue Tech mod for Battletech has been updated to Project B to include the Urban Warfare DLC now.

      Good hunting.

For everyone who was discussing the Wheel of Time casting choices, and the problems some Twitter mobs had about them, this is a good read to share.

You can have your fantasy of a world were a Matrix 4 might be a good movie. And I will be over here tuning my air guitar for the next Bill and Ted...

@Arkandel Odds are they'll trim down the most interesting stuff and just keep the boring central story. The draw for WoT was never the main story, though. It's standard, boring chosen one stuff. The draw was the intricate world and the sub plots and character interactions.

The show will miss the mark entirely. It may still be a great show while also being a terrible representation of WoT. I'm hopeful that it will be good. But it won't be WoT.

This is how I'm feeling about it. I like the guy they cast for Perrin. I will also admit that I found Perrin's story throughout the series far more compelling than Rand's chosen one arc.

Mat's story was more interesting too but often felt all over the place and seemed to sometimes rely on other narrative arcs too much to push his own story forward.

@Jaded According to the article a "series adaptation", so a retelling with potential to go past the timeline of the movie.

Hmm. I am dubious but interested.

Our industry is being told today that the 3G sunset has begun. On January 1st, 2020, AT&T and Verizon will no longer activate or support 3G devices. Their goal is to have all of their coverage areas moved to 4G by the start of 2021, at which time no 3G device will work on an active network.

Some independent companies and smaller telecoms are already removing 3G from their active networks. So if you are on one of these and your 3G phone is having issues, this could be why.

Would have been nice to know this like...8 months ago.

In Development at Amazon: Event Horizon television show.

I'm so conflicted about this. I would love to see more Event Horizon, but this part of me thinks: "HOW DARE YOU. THIS IS A CLASSIC. LOOK BUT DONT TOUCH."

...but if it's gritty and grimdark and messy and eldritch and technical and everything I'd want from a Dead Space live action? It's my birthday.

Is it going to be a continuation? or a new kind of telling of the story?

If you're a fan of rogue-like RPG style games with a twist of Slay the Spire card action, check out Griftlands on Steam. It's not available yet but looks like it will have a lot of promise. Klei is doing the game - that's the devs of Don't Starve and Oxygen Not Included.

He played a lot of roles but the one that always sticks out best for me in my mind was from Blade Runner. That monologue he had at the end was just...it was damn good.

You know my first time playing FF through I kept Black Belt with the Iron Nunchuks the whole game thinking "why did they not give me any upgraded weapons for him?" and then gave him a sword after his promotion. It was only later when my grandmother was playing it that she told me, "he hits harder without weapons."

      I felt so dumb.

Yeah the update for Stellaris that came with the Megacorp DLC pretty much made it a whole new game to play and learn. So if you've not played in some time you'll have to get used to new systems.

Bloodstained is the Castlevania game we all didn't know we needed. It's really good, controls are snappy, lots of options, good voice acting, pretty art, and MICHIRU YAMANE COMPOSED THE MUSIC.

See I told you guys! Don't take my word for it. Bobotron is on the train too. Choo choo! Join us!
