Still having a ton of fun despite RL limiting the amount of free time I have to RP.

RE: RL things I love
@Pandora For Christmas, my sister bought me a mug that says, "Don't touch me, peasant." on it, it's the mug I use at work now.

At this rate we will need an apology section in this forum.
Just name that category: Canada.

RE: Post-Covid 19 world
I see two major changes happening as a result of this pandemic and how people have been forced to react to it.
One is that businesses that can continue to run right now with their employees working from home will actually start adopting that model if they do not see too much of a drop in production from being forced to make that change. This would actually save the company money in the long run and helps the environment with less people driving.
The second is that workers that are part of the industries that have been forced to let people go like the service industry and others where they end up being easily replaced or removed will try to unionize more than they are now. At least that is something they should focus on for the benefit of their own future and financial security.
UBI is a hard pill to swallow because people in the USA are still spooked by the scary word, Socialism. Until the country stops being an oligarch, not much on that side will change. Hell, those with money were trying to find a way to get people to go back to work before the pandemic peaked because they were losing money, it took science and medical experts to smack them upside the head with facts before the smarter decision was made. Plus, one big reason I see why the government was so slow on making sure tests are available is because if you don't test, you don't need to report real numbers. That way, they can delay the stock market crash as much as possible.
Society will eventually get back to normal once the vaccine comes out but question is, how many people will be able to recover and how badly would they have suffered in the meantime.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
I have a feeling that's why they haven't really been advertising antibody tests for the time being because there are tests out there but are currently unreliable.

RE: Things I've Learned Running Horror Mu
Horror MU definite has been one of the games I've had the most fun in. Sadly RL kidnapped me before the previous story started and has yet to ransom me away. The issues that @Botulism laid out is something I have seen in my lengthy years of RPing and a lot of it seems to have been addressed in a positive manner with how she created and manages her game. Very unique and refreshing style for sure.

Updated, was convinced to try out Horror MU, really liking it. The new dice system and game concept is really refreshing!

RE: The Realms Adventurous Revival
@Lotherio Sorry to hear that happened, it was a good game, one I really enjoyed and felt challenged by. Though this just helps reinforce my decision to retire my character instead of carrying over since the new people who were taking over are very suspect.

RE: Make MSB great again!
@arkandel I agree that more moderation of content is not the answer. That is not what this place is, people should be free to speak their mind with the understanding that others are able to reply in the same manner, at least in hog pit. In the other sections, try to stay on topic with the proper tone as much as possible and if not, divert to hog pit.
The only "moderation" I believe that is needed is basically housekeeping. Keeping the place neater as was outlined here. This way people have more freedom to choose what they want to read and what they don't. If they choose to delve deeper into more heated discussion, it is their choice to head to the linked thread instead of having to sift through possibly pages of mess they don't want to see to find what they want. That may be a big turn off for some by itself.

There's a really good book by Susan Cain called "Quiet: The Power of Introverts In A World That Can't Stop Talking". She actually talks about the scientific research done regarding introverts and extroverts on a biological level, and it's some pretty fascinating stuff.
She also has a very interesting TED talk.
If you think you're an introvert, or even just know an introvert, or are an extrovert that wants to understand the difference, I highly recommend both.
Just read the transcripts of that video, very informative, great link. Certainly helps me understand much better on what being an introvert means.

Another pet peeve about TS is mages. I was dating a girl ICly when a mage, who literally met her at a party and thought she was cute, used Mind/Corr/Life to impregnate her from across town. Just out of the blue. She had met the guy once for all of three poses. Staff said he could do it so we rolled with it but it was fucked up and she stopped playing that character about a week later.
I mean the guy is a creep, obviously. This isn't even about TS (I mean... there was none either way), it's about forcing another player into something they didn't sign up for in any conceivable way.
But there's no excuse - zero - for staff who let that happen let alone actually encourage it. The only sane response to that was "no, get out", and that should have been the end.
Conversely the only sane response to staff who 'let that happen' is "wtf, lol, bye".
Seriously. What happened sound pretty much rape since the player of the female character didn't even consent. The only reasonable action in my eyes (maybe I would be a very bad WoD staff since I've had zero experience in that genre) is to ban the creeper. You don't need that kind of psycho in your games.

RE: PB 'realism'
Back when I use to RP, I actually transitioned from real life PBs to artwork PBs. There were two main reasons why I had decided to make the change. One, I didn't want the actor I picked as my PB to influence my character style or RP style, I get the feeling that I may unintentionally have my character act or react how the actor would in a recent popular movie. The second reason is linked to my first, I don't want other people who RP'd with me to unintentionally form an unintended image of my character due to how they recall memories from movies they watched where my PBs.
To me, artistic works are more free form and open ended to interpretation, less of a chance to draw the focus away from your character to the actor or actress playing the character. Also, I personally feel that anime characters are just fine as long as they properly portray the character in an artistic manner, feel free the fight me on this. Weebs rise up!
