I second this. This needs a story.

I am so saddened by this. He was such an amazing musician. It's sad that he retired in 2015 to spend time with his wife and daughter, and was hit by this cancer in year after. I know that he would probably be embarrassed his death made the news - he was so private. But I think an enormous number of people mourn tonight, finding out about his death. I am certainly one of them.

At work- boss called in sick, and I do not have computer login or access. So I am sitting here and just killing the phone battery.

So - The job - I still like it. The boss and coworker are still amazing. Boss had an out of town meeting today so it was just me and the coworker. He's SUPER chill, and teaching me all the extra little tricks of getting around the building.

But the pain of to and from the car to the office, office to the car - It's getting worse. I paid a little extra to park in a lot a block closer than the garage. It helped a TINY bit. It's to the point I have to sit in my car when I get back to it, and just SIT and will the pain away so I can move my legs to drive. I get home, and manage to get it into the house, and have to lay down for at least an hour to be able to walk into the kitchen to make something to eat - which has been nothing real this week - super quick stuff I can nuke.

I've refilled my steroid script because I don't know what else to do to help it. I've cried from pain more this week than I have in the last 3 months.

@Ominous Hmm. If it is patrolled by the cops - I should have no issue. Big brother is one of them. I will have to look.
But I don't think Boss would lean - he's very much "We are contractors, not county employees"

@Auspice According to my state's DMV - a handicap placard does not exempt you from parking fees. It was a good thought though. Thanks for trying to help.

So new job - yay! Boss seems cool, coworker seems chill. That's all to the good.

Less good - Because technically I am a contractor and not a county employee, I can not park in the lot for the county office employees across the street. - Instead, the only lot/garage I can find that does a monthly rate is three blocks away. With the ankylosing spondilytis, and the fact they just changed over the med (and it can take 3 months to kick in), I am having a HELL of a time walking back at the end of the day. As in I need to stop at least twice between office and car. Today I wasn't sure I could make it. I don't have the money right now (not having been paid yet) to look into the other lots, because they are more expensive to park there. My boss, who has seen me trying to walk to the garage - suggested trying to get a handicap placard - but it doesn't help me really park any closer.

Easy Mac. Cheesy hot dog made in the nuke (tastes better than it sounds). Leftovers. Frozen spaghetti meal, or spaghettios I doctor with some garlic salt and onion powder

So, first day at work. Boss is super chill (despite me sugar crashing in front of him), and takes me to see the cafeteria and cafe- Down to the basement and literally underground all the way around the building. My spine was KILLING me. I had to stop halfway back. My calves (already knotted from not sleeping last night to anxiety) are killing me.

But the job seems okay, the boss keeps getting distracted and chit chatting with me. Coworker I will sit next too seems super awesome, and the sports chat was awesome.

Of course - I forgot my lunch on my first day like a BOSS.

Fucking people who think something is funny - when it's completely wrong in the information provided. Maybe it's just my history major showing, but if you want to joke about offering one of our politicians up to Iran to 'even things out' - at least make sure you offer one of our politicians that is equal in stature. THEN it might be funny. Jeez.
