If I weren't working on this Power Rangers thing, I'd jump at SWTOR era for a MU. I think there's a FFG plugin for Ares?

Reading all these reasons for shit pisses me off. Because people should be allowed to play what they want. God, it's like, I don't know. There's a time period where people can play whatever they want. It's called a buttload of thousands of years BBY. You can have all the jedi and sith you want. You can have all the wacky force traditions. You can have smugglers and nobles and dudes who do cool ass pilot shit.

Enforced rarity can eat my ENTIRE asshole.

@SquirrelTalk Still plugging away off and on. Nothing big to speak of. Life is often in the way of writing time, plus my other MU* stuff and whatnot. It'll get there.

@Bobotron Basically, due to Drakkon's meddling with the Grid, it now contains pockets and bubbles of instability. These bubbles of 'Grid Energy' are detectable. Some enterprising scientists, of both good and not so good persuasion, have learned to stabilize these bubbles and at the same time tap into the power of the Morphin Grid.

For some reason, the only way to access these powers is via a ridiculous and thematic belt.

These belts end up in various hands because Reasons, and we have Kamen Riders.

Also, if anyone is interested in helping me out, be it writing files, or writing baller ass plugins for Ares, let me know. Feel free to PM me. It's a process, and none of this shit is fast, but it's faster with help.

@Auspice Looking through Ares stuff, I'm probably going to use it. I may just skip a combat code entirely, even though I love my crunchy bits. For what I want in a code, it'd have to be built from the ground up, anyway. (multiple modes, separate giant robot stuff). It may just be easier to roll without one and then if I can ensla--convince someone to make something, go from there.

@gryphter That is a question that I don't have an answer for. I am a code idiot. I will be looking for a coder and stuff. I'm open to suggestions.

I am going to be writing theme files and that kind of thing this weekend. I'm pretty much using Boom! Comics with some kamen rider stuff because I am a fanboy. I will say that OC ranger teams and Riders and villains will be a thing because I am too old to give a shit about almost anything but rule of cool as long as it fits the setting.

    • Power Rangers: Power of the Grid

So some months ago I gauged interest in a PR/KR MU. I've been idle, but I'm on a kick again. So here's the pitch for basic setting. I'm ... probably going to start writing a theme this weekend.

      What is wrong with me?

      Lord Drakkon is dead.

Defeated by his younger self, the wicked Ranger troubles the earth no more. His machinations have, however, caused untold changes. The merging of timelines, of alternate universes, has not been undone upon his defeat. The earth, This Earth, and the stars beyond are now home to many teams of Rangers to protect it. A side effect has also caused other individuals, who call themselves Riders, to manifest powers of their own.

Also on the Earth and in the Stars are all of the Rangers' enemies. The Machine Empire. Zedd. More and legion. Darkness swells, and only the Rangers and their allies can rise up to face these threats. A wise man once said these words that echo through the Grid.

      It's Morphin' Time!

      No, I'm Lilith.

      No, I'm Jenny.

      ...

Well there goes 30 years of careful cultivation.

I didn't want to. My hand was forced.

      No, this is Patrick.

@thatdamnguy I'm not quite sure. Part of me wants to do a big 'All the bad guys are allied for Reasons' faction and hope that people want to evilly chew scenery because, come on. That's why you're playing a a game like this.I am open to suggestions

@seamus this. I like this. They ate also apparently setting up zord combos like that in the comic.

I don't even know if I'd want a coded system though.

    • RE: Power Rangers/Sentai/Kamen Rider MU

@bobotron That's fair. If I do this, I am straight up stealing the setting from Boom!'s comic run, because it's amazing and consistant. (tl;dr Evil!Tommy from the future starts infusing himself with other ranger powers from all the teams to get closer to the Morphing Grid. This changes the teams from being from the future in a timeline to being alternate dimensions that can be interacted with.)

    • Power Rangers/Sentai/Kamen Rider MU

So I've been reading the Shattered Grid arc in the new MMPR comics and thought that a MU of it, plus Kamen Rider because I can't quit it, would be loads of fun. I just don't know if interest exists for such a thing, though, tbh, I'm probably going to drink too much coffee one night and start writing theme files.

So, I guess, is there interest? Or am I just a sad little man?

Yeah, so I read this whole thread. This shit is my drug. I cut my RP teeth twenty-odd years ago in Wheel of Time chatrooms on AOL. I am guaranteed to play on this thing and would be happy to help as I can. I'll probably just idle on the server forever until people show up.

I'd suggest Genesys by FFG, but I don't even think any Star Wars MUs are using it. (FFG's Star Wars rpg uses the same mechanics in case anyone doesn't know). I don't think it's out yet, though.

I'll second Avatar: tLA. I will also throw in The Dresden Files.
