@Tempest Nipping this in the bud before it becomes more then just a joke and turns into a rumor: This did not happen.

RE: Empire State Heroes Mush
I had a few bad run-ins with Staff (Nothing about corruption or anything super evil...just didn't get along over certain App things). After that I began losing interest and dropped the Batman I -was- playing (Once again...never NPCed Alfred), and he was retaken by the one playing him before me. After that I switched over to a weird AU character that was fun, but...still couldn't get the drive back. The Peter stuff just was the last-straw (Though I have no real horse in that race, but it showed what I already figured), so I dropped the character and tapped out of the game.

RE: Eternal City MUX Needs Help!
UPDATE: Code is coming along well, and our main spheres are installed.
Now, I NEED a wiki person. Someone who can work with me to make a very visually appealing wiki. We have a site for it with mediawiki installed, but that's it for it so far. I know, a wiki person is almost as hard to find as a coder, but I found the first one, so was hoping I would luck out with the latter, too XD

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
Wolf is IN! Now, onto Changeling. I haven't decided if I will come up with new Courts or not. I just find the normal seasonal Courts so -iconic-, and I love them, so I am probably just keeping them in as-is. So, minimal changes needed for Ling, thankfully.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
Issue:
I wrote the theme for wolf, and the only mechanic that really needs to be changed is the Technology gifts. I can write theme, but am garbage at mechanics! Help! XD
EDIT: Nevermind! One of the Dark Era's books has viking era gifts, and their Tech gift replacements will work.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
UPDATE:
There was some serious code problems, but my awesome coder has been going through and fixing and reinstalling everything I screwed up! Now Vampire is pretty much installed (Bloodlines will come later, and will be very different, likely, since many modern ones don't exist).I have begun working on Werewolf now, and have a pretty good grasp of what they are like during this period. I am not using the Dark EPics version, but instead tieing them to the Romulus/Remus myth.

RE: Eternal City MUX Needs Help!
When/if I integrate Mummy it will be the fully completed CoD version, not 1e. Just...making that clear since we got off track.

RE: Eternal City MUX Needs Help!
@magee101 Because books didn't sell. The entire gaming industry works off of PoD and kickstarter type stuff now because it tanked in the 90's due to overprinting books.
But, back on topic, I'll just wait until the actual book is out instead of trying to make more work for myself when I already have a ton.

RE: Eternal City MUX Needs Help!
@Jennkryst Like I said, when the actual book drops, we'll discuss this. XD It's a good era for it.

RE: Eternal City MUX Needs Help!
Things we NEED:
We have a website and mediawiki or whatever it is called installed on it. I want a lovely looking wiki for the game, but am clueless on it.
Sphere staff: Vampire is written and pretty much done. HOWEVER, while I have passing knowledge on Wolf and CHangeling, I don't know enough to convert their theme to the era. I'm trying, but hitting a roadblock. I really need someone for Wolf and Ling (And others later) who are willing to work with me to convert their settings to 200 BCE in Rome.
That's the main things we need right now, and we need them bad. If interested, either hit the discord listed, or send me a private message.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
When the book is fully out we can start to discuss Mummy. XD

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
UPDATE:
Lots of basic code is in, and now working on overhauling the spheres so their code can be properly installed. We moved to a new server space, due to the other one not being properly up to date, etc.
We also now have a website for our wiki! So, updated positions needed:
SPHERE FOLKS: I need people who are willing to work with me to make the setting and spheres for Vampire, Werewolf, Changeling, Gutter Magic (Which will have a new name and organizations and be its own sphere) and mortal (AKA mortal organizations and stuffs). Vampire's theme is mostly hammered out.
WIKI: We have a wiki now that is empty. I need someone who is able to make it look AWESOME. I do not want a plain or boring looking wiki. Fallcoast, NOLA and a bunch of others have a good looking mediawiki site and I really want something similar.
Once the code is done on the spheres and such I can start working on the grid. It will contain the city of Rome, surrounding countyside (For patricians and the like who have rural villas, or farms and the like, plus more rural, wild rp), and the Necropolis, which is the underground city of the Vampires. We'll have RP Rooms,of course, for locations not on-grid.
And of course, more.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
@Cupcake There could easily be a somewhat fitting Mystery Cult or wolf lodge or something, but it wouldn't be full-on Xena. It could be bad ass warrior woman, though.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
@Jennkryst Even though I am assuming Cupcake is joking, I wanna expand on what Jennkryst is referring to. On the discord it was asked what the Roman Gods are really going to be. Spirits? Gentry? Etc.
They are the Gods. People believe in them, wolves and vamps included. Because those wolves and vamps and such are ROMANS. Monsters can pretend to be the Gods here and there, but the others frown on it, and it doesn't tend to last very long. Just like the Christian God doesn't legit show up in scenes on most modern day games, and neither does Jesus Christ, the Gods won't appear on-grid or in plots. Their faiths and cults, however, will absolutely have big things to do with plots, politics and similar, though, because that is the way it is. Venus doesn't walk down the main streets and visit the temple because this isn't Percy Jackson. Can some Gentry have -aspects- of the Gods? Sure. But no Changeling will likely think they were legit taken by the Gods, because the Gentry are Other. They are distinctly non-Roman. Monsters.
Does this all make sense?

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
UPDATE:
I think, after a lot of thought, that I'm going to reflavor Coils to be specialized training within the Legio Mortuum, given only to 'career' soldiers. AKA not ones who train then leave for another Covenant. So, just like non Augurs won't have Veneficia, etc. So, the powers will be the same, but they come from specialized training and honing your form and NOT science. If someone can come up with a better idea for the Legio, please tell me. I'd be down.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
Good question, and actually something I have been considering.
In many ways this game will be anachronistic. Sorry, history simulationists!
One of those ways will be gender. While women likely won't be -totally- equal among mortals, they can own property, and such. Among the Supernaturals they are equals. Even oWoD did this with their historical settings. The reasoning is because...whether that Vampire or Werewolf or whatever has breasts or not...THEY CAN STILL CONTROL YOUR MIND OR MURDER YOU. So, at least among the supernaturals, they are equal. And among humans they are equal enough to allow for full rp, really.
Another anachronism, for instance, is age. Sure, irl people married really early and died really early, but we're not about to have a bunch of 16 year olds or whatever running around. So, folks are aged up. 18 age minimum, and people live longer. Plebs likely still die earlier due to life, of course, but it isn't as extreme.
Other anachronisms will just be some stuff moved around the Roman era. Like, the huge bathhouses weren't quite a thing yet, but I want them. And I want a big ass amphitheater even though it won't exist for about 600 years.
TLDR: History will be taken into account on a lot of stuff on the game, but not everything. Think of it more like playing in a movie or something of the era. Accurate in broad swathes to get the TONE down, but not the extreme details. I want the game to be as absolutely accessible as possible.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
UPDATE:
Working on vampire stuff, specifically the Wings, which are the 'covenants', so to speak. All branches of the Camarilla.
The Senex is the political arm. They run the show, really. Politicians and rules-makers and debaters, all serving the 'will' of the very torpid ancient who founded the Camarilla, Romulus. The highest group of them is the circle of elders who run the show, known as the Invictus. I'm giving them some Invictus merits, but not Oaths. So far they get:
Attache
Friends in High Places
Invested
Where The Bodies are Buried
Courtoisie
Noblesse Oblige (Replace city with Cam status, as there is no City status, but there is Cam status...which covers the Empire)The Wing of Prophets, or Cult of Augurs, are the diviners and spiritualists. The sorcerors. Unlike the modern Circle, though, it ALSO contains charlatans and people using it for their own gain with no real spiritual belief. Veneficia, the sorcery they use, does not require actual faith...just enacting the rituals and knowledge of them. In this pre-Christian era they are important for the Camarilla. They get Veneficia (Which works like Cruac MOSTLY). They also get the following merits:
Altar
Secret Society Junkie (Properly renamed, and instead of Ordo)
Mandragora Garden
Temple Guardian
Veneficia Style : Unbridled Chaos
Veneficia Style: Primal Creation
Veneficia Style: Opening The VoidThe Peregrine Collegia, or Wing of strangers, is the branch of the...others. Often lower-class or similar, these lowly vamps tend to be made up of those who don't fit elsewhere. They can be shady and connected, and can often get jobs done that the others can't touch. They aren't rebellious, though, really, and most don't hate their position or feel spite over it. They are good at what they do, and people DO rely on them. They will likely be getting the following merits:
Information Network (Instead of Invictus)
Collegia Pull
I Know A Guy
Alley Cat
Devotion Experimentation
Fucking ThiefNow comes the Legio Mortuum. This is the military branch of the Cam. They are the legionarres, and the investigators and interrogators. They are brutal and skilled and honorable. Often, Kindred will serve one human lifetime within the Legion before joining the Senex, though not always. In 1e they got reduced xp cost on mentor, herd, retainer and fighting styles, but that doesn't work in 2e, so I have no idea what to give them. This is where I am at a loss.
The Ordo and Lancea won't exist for a long time, yet.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
UPDATE:
So, I have read Gutter Magic. Honestly, it's very workable. I'm totally down for it to be in game. I'll give it some thematic reskinning and such, and create some organizations to attach them to (Ala Mystery Cults, but more important for their 'sphere') Kind of like the Paths in Spirit Sight in 1e, as an example. They will basically be a subsphere. Once I rewrite the theme for them and we work it into the code, it'll be fully in. So, whee!
