@Rinel I am talking about that one, yeah.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
Update:
I THINK I am going to set the game during the war with Carthage, about 200 years before Christ. That would mean no Sanctified, but lots of other cool stuff. A lot of overarcing plot would involve the Carthaginians. AKA, they send spies in to disrupt and start trouble (NPC plot stuff). Each sphere can be effected by the ongoing war in different ways, as there are loyal members of each sphere IN Carthage. A lot more would be going on in the setting, of course, but it is a starting point.

@Seamus Gutter Magic looks interesting! Definatly going to bookmark that!

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
Fair enough. Honestly, Mage is the only one I'm iffy about. I definatly lean towards @RDC on this. Okay, no Mage.
I DO want mortal thaums somehow, though. It's TOO perfect of a setting not to have them, you know?

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
I'd love to include as many spheres as I can, if we have the code and players to back it up. If you have 6 players, having 8 spheres is pointless, you know?
Some stuff:
Vampire: Converting Requiem to 2e isn't that hard. Main thing is coming up with the 'Covenant' stuff, since they don't exactly exist as they are today. Wings of the Camarilla and all that. So, working out their benefits for some are easy (Wing of Prophets, and the Lancea et Sanctum, since they basically get Cruac and Theban) but the others require more work.
Werewolf: This MAINLY needs thematic changes, not as much mechanic. From what I can see, anyways.
Mage: If included, from what little I know of Mage, the setting would require a lot of work, right? And whole groups wouldn't exist or would be VASTLY different. Not educated on Mage at all.
Changeling: Reworking the Courts to be more Roman inspired would be cool, yeah. Also, adding some Kiths works well, totally.
Geist: One of the games that isn't out yet, but would fit very well once it does.
Mummy: With reworking time-wimey stuff and some other things, this could be interesting given the time period and connection to Egypt. Another 'when it comes out, discuss further' thing, like Geist.
Things I want to include:
Families. An ancient city with such a diverse population screams for them. LOTS of potential for a range of common to noble families, imo. I know not everyone loves Families, but I adore the insta-hooks and connections.
Ease: I want history to be present, obviously. I want some wiki pages/news files on clothing, basic society, current history, culture, etc. HOWEVER, I want it to be as accessible as possible. I do not want players to need a degree in mythology or history to feel welcome. This bit is important. However, if someone is clearly and majorly playing against setting/time, they will be talked to and such.
Conditions: I want to make it so they are easily added and such. Easy and accessible code is a good thing.
** I am sure there will be more to come.
Now...
I know shit all about coding. I can build, I can write. I am trying to teach myself how to code, but it's a rough journey. So, any and all help offered is a good thing. I can't pay, but I can cover the game server costs, etc. (Currently waiting for the server space to be prepped).

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
I am waiting for the server to be ready to log on, but for now I DO have a discord. Folks who have interest in helping, or hanging out, can check it out. An easier way of working on things and communicating, I find.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
OH! Then it will be a 'time will tell' thing. I won't discount it! But we have a lot of other groundwork to do first.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
@Jennkryst On Mummy: I haven't read it, so I don't know! Rome and Egypt had a lot of connections, of course, so there would possibly be opportunity for them? I can't give a good, proper answer on that atm!

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
@RDC Haha! Interesting idea.
I'm going Rome, but Ancient Babylon would be rad, too!

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
Interesting. Dark Eras paints the Pure not necessarily as antags, but strange bedfellows, even existing in the same packs as Forsaken. This is something I'll need to consider!

CoD Ancient Rome game...
So, I love Requiem for Rome. I think it is a super fun and interesting setting. I am heavily, heavily considering updating that to 2e and using it as a setting for a MU*. However, updating the Werewolf and Changeling games to fit the time period as well! I am aiming for a coded system that makes things like Conditions and such easy to add and remove for ease of roleplay. Also, I want to make the setting as easy to get into as possible for people. I don't want it to be a game that requires someone to be a history major. Sure, there will be historical things, but if a player mainly has watched Gladiator or Spartacus or something, they can still jump in (With the understanding of some news files giving better explanation and making sure folks aren't totally being out-of-theme).
Does this sound doable? Would anyone be interested? I was originally planning a 20th anniversary game but was doing it myself, and writing all the theme AND teaching myself how to code made it...impossible.

RE: NOLA: The Game That Care Forgot
Yeah, I have a wolf AND my vamp approved! Could definatly use more members of the Praxis! My ex-Invictus turned Acolyte elder-who-lost-it-all-due-torpor dude could use Invictus to hate on him or miss him, and Acolytes to help him find himself! Do iiiiiit~

RE: NOLA: The Game That Care Forgot
Wow, I forgot about NOLA! Swinging by to check it out again.

RE: 20th Anniversary WoD MUSH Needs Help!
LOL. Sadly, I didn't get any of these responses when first working on it. XD It's hard to build a game on your own while ALSO trying to teach yourself how to code. So, I dropped the project. If I had someone to help with code and everything, I'd be more then willing to reignite it.

RE: Any Streamers Out There?
Yup. Make my living off of a mix of Youtube (Geek House) and twitch. twitch.tv/geekhouseyt !

20th Anniversary WoD MUSH Needs Help!
After a lot of consideration on my V5 idea I've made quite a few changes. For one, I'm going with 20th anniversary edition instead! Also, the location has changed! Here's the basic info!
I am looking for aid in the areas of:
- Coding (#1 thing needed!)
Eventually I will need help building, running spheres and the like, but for now the main thing I need help with is coding.
Basic ideas about the game:
-
Set in New York City
-
Multi-sphere (Mortal, Mortal+, Vampire, Shifter, Changeling at the minimum)
-
Metaplot!
-
A roster of pre-made characters written into the metaplot at various levels of xp. WHen a character is dropped they return to the roster for someone else to eventually play. Folks CAN make their own characters, but OCs will work a little differently. (There will be a big roster, involving all spheres! Super easy to get in game and play! Roster characters will also include above-CG characters, which will require more activity and involvement. Exact rules in development.)
-
Lots still being planned and thought about!
If you are at all interested, hit me up here!

RE: A V5 MUX?
Well, the site is up and I'm slowly teaching myself code by being on the RhostMUSH server and chatting up folks there! I have a very solid idea of what I want the game to be, but now have to get there.
-
A V5 MUX?
This isn't to discuss which edition of WoD is better, as folks do that enough. HOWEVER, if I was interested in setting up a 5th edition WoD game, focusing on Vampires and mortals (With the other game lines being added as the editions drop) would there be builders, coders and the like interested? I know the minimum about coding, but I know how to build, storytell, etc, and I know the V5 rules and setting rather well and ADORE it. IS there already V5 code out there?
