    • RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...

Good question, and actually something I have been considering.

In many ways this game will be anachronistic. Sorry, history simulationists!

One of those ways will be gender. While women likely won't be -totally- equal among mortals, they can own property, and such. Among the Supernaturals they are equals. Even oWoD did this with their historical settings. The reasoning is because...whether that Vampire or Werewolf or whatever has breasts or not...THEY CAN STILL CONTROL YOUR MIND OR MURDER YOU. So, at least among the supernaturals, they are equal. And among humans they are equal enough to allow for full rp, really.

Another anachronism, for instance, is age. Sure, irl people married really early and died really early, but we're not about to have a bunch of 16 year olds or whatever running around. So, folks are aged up. 18 age minimum, and people live longer. Plebs likely still die earlier due to life, of course, but it isn't as extreme.

Other anachronisms will just be some stuff moved around the Roman era. Like, the huge bathhouses weren't quite a thing yet, but I want them. And I want a big ass amphitheater even though it won't exist for about 600 years.

TLDR: History will be taken into account on a lot of stuff on the game, but not everything. Think of it more like playing in a movie or something of the era. Accurate in broad swathes to get the TONE down, but not the extreme details. I want the game to be as absolutely accessible as possible.

    • Down And Out Changeling Household on CoH!

So, Kadet is a Liam Sidhe, and a crust punk. Think the modern version of gutter punk. She's a Seelie Changeling, though folks might not get that at first, due to her rather nontraditional personality. When it comes down to it, though, she seeks to take care of the people under her supervision, and that includes Changelings, Kinain, and anyone else. The Household I'm looking to start would mainly feature crust punks, homeless, street urchins, and down and out types. You do not need to be homeless. You can have a small place of your own and a simple job or whatever. The main idea is NOT rich people. People who are in the city, struggling through it, and living life to the fullest despite it all.

We'll have social scenes, urban fantasy adventure, and plots that are both light and dark. I'll run some, and hopefully others will, too. Also, I think we'll interact with the rest of the game in a fun way. New characters are great, but existing ones who think they can fit can TOTALLY hit me up. I'm aiming for Title 3 atm, but still formulating. Trans crustpunk wilder Sidhe girl. I have 3-4 people interested already, and I'd love to get more! ❤

This is on City of Hope, a oWoD game. I'd be happy to help folks learn changeling, also.

    • Freedom City MUX (M&M 2nd needs ALL THE STAFF!)

      FREEDOM CITY MUX

A MUX set in the setting of Freedom City, and using the second edition Mutants & Masterminds rules! Pre-statted Feature Characters from the setting, and encouraged Original Characters. A +roster to make picking an FC easy, and a CG that is non-stressful for the newcomer.

Villain characters are NPC only, and handled through either ST run plot, or Player Run Plots (Which are always encouraged).

Non-powered, lower Power Level ‘civilian characters’ are encouraged as side-alts, adding color and texture to the world around the characters.

Players are allowed one Feature Character at a time, but are allowed a set number of Original Powered Characters as well, along with unlimited Civilian Characters (Within reason).

City roleplay, small town roleplay, and even Super Hero High roleplay all on the same grid, due to various parts of the city.

XP is handed out on a weekly basis, and growth is slow but noticeable. Taking part in Adventures grants a small amount of extra XP, but not participating in them will not neuter your growth.

Feature Characters are expected to have more activity, and to also work to promote roleplay, OOC community, etcetera. This does not mean that you are required to run plot if you have an FC, but there will be expectations, even if small.

A metaplot, along with non-connected stories.

Adventures, but also +hangouts and social roleplay. A blending of the more controlled scenes often seen on Comic MU*s, along with the +hangouts and such that tends to be found on WoD games. Yes, this does include ‘Bar Roleplay’.

So…this is what I –want-. I have knowledge of the system and setting, and a willingness to play and run and coordinate. What I do NOT have are all of the other necessities. This would be…a site. A coder. I can build, desc, coordinate, staff, run plot and RP to my hearts content…but that is difficult when the game does not exist. 😉

So, I am looking for other people who would be interested in helping me with this. I have the ability to get us a site to make the game, but I have no knowledge on what to do once I have it. I have keen ideas on what I want out of the game…but no real ability to make it happen. 😉 I don’t want it to end there.

If you are interested in aiding me, please toss me a PM on here, or hit me up on skype at Maskofwinters.

      🙂 Thank you!

    • RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...

      Update:

I THINK I am going to set the game during the war with Carthage, about 200 years before Christ. That would mean no Sanctified, but lots of other cool stuff. A lot of overarcing plot would involve the Carthaginians. AKA, they send spies in to disrupt and start trouble (NPC plot stuff). Each sphere can be effected by the ongoing war in different ways, as there are loyal members of each sphere IN Carthage. A lot more would be going on in the setting, of course, but it is a starting point.

    • RE: Empire State Heroes Mush

I had a few bad run-ins with Staff (Nothing about corruption or anything super evil...just didn't get along over certain App things). After that I began losing interest and dropped the Batman I -was- playing (Once again...never NPCed Alfred), and he was retaken by the one playing him before me. After that I switched over to a weird AU character that was fun, but...still couldn't get the drive back. The Peter stuff just was the last-straw (Though I have no real horse in that race, but it showed what I already figured), so I dropped the character and tapped out of the game.

    • A V5 MUX?

This isn't to discuss which edition of WoD is better, as folks do that enough. HOWEVER, if I was interested in setting up a 5th edition WoD game, focusing on Vampires and mortals (With the other game lines being added as the editions drop) would there be builders, coders and the like interested? I know the minimum about coding, but I know how to build, storytell, etc, and I know the V5 rules and setting rather well and ADORE it. IS there already V5 code out there?

Yeah, I have a wolf AND my vamp approved! Could definatly use more members of the Praxis! My ex-Invictus turned Acolyte elder-who-lost-it-all-due-torpor dude could use Invictus to hate on him or miss him, and Acolytes to help him find himself! Do iiiiiit~

    • CoD Ancient Rome game...

So, I love Requiem for Rome. I think it is a super fun and interesting setting. I am heavily, heavily considering updating that to 2e and using it as a setting for a MU*. However, updating the Werewolf and Changeling games to fit the time period as well! I am aiming for a coded system that makes things like Conditions and such easy to add and remove for ease of roleplay. Also, I want to make the setting as easy to get into as possible for people. I don't want it to be a game that requires someone to be a history major. Sure, there will be historical things, but if a player mainly has watched Gladiator or Spartacus or something, they can still jump in (With the understanding of some news files giving better explanation and making sure folks aren't totally being out-of-theme).

Does this sound doable? Would anyone be interested? I was originally planning a 20th anniversary game but was doing it myself, and writing all the theme AND teaching myself how to code made it...impossible.

I play Cutlin Moss, a commoner retainer to the Deepwoods. 40 year old ranger. I have need of twin daughter PCs from my background (Anywhere between 18-22), and all kinds of other relations! Or, as she mentioned, app in a legit Deepwood! Do iiiiiit.

      UPDATE:
There was some serious code problems, but my awesome coder has been going through and fixing and reinstalling everything I screwed up! Now Vampire is pretty much installed (Bloodlines will come later, and will be very different, likely, since many modern ones don't exist).

I have begun working on Werewolf now, and have a pretty good grasp of what they are like during this period. I am not using the Dark EPics version, but instead tieing them to the Romulus/Remus myth.
