i woke up and turned on the computer to discover that avast had put war3.exe into its virus chest. I have spent most of the day trying to take it out. Nothing works, not the suggestions on the avast website on how to get non-virus files out of the chest, and not any other suggestions (which ranged from disabling the antivirus then try to "restore" the file from the virus chest to the computer, then turning the antivirus back on, to make the "exclusion list" stick). There was no way i could make sure the file was "excluded" from being put in the virus chest. Everytime I tried to restore or restore and exclude it, it just popped right back into the virus chest. I tried updating avast, I tried "repairing" avast (from the control panel), I've rebooted countless times, and still can't play Warcraft because the stupid exe file is STILL in the virus chest!!!!! I have made false positive report on it along with a detailed message of what went wrong and what won't work to fix it, and am awaiting avast to get back to me. fumes

RE: RL Anger
@WTFE yeah, dehumanization of the opposition/enemy has been universally de riguer since time immemorial.

RE: RL Anger
@WTFE The chinese people value life? yeah. The chinese government? Not so much. Conflating the beliefs of a people with their non-democratic despotic government's beliefs is very deceptive. Which is why I suspect that the stuff about the russian people was going around during the cold war.

RE: Dead Celebrity Thread
Officer Pete Malloy (Martin Milner), of heart failure, age 83. That role occurred on Adam-12, Dragnet, Emergency, and The DA. (all were Mark VII Limited productions)

Headline writers. What would the world be like without the wonky, zany antics of these?

can we get back the blue highlighting patch that indicated last read post in a thread?

RE: RL Anger
@Arkandel because it's a clear sign of budding serial killers. If they don't catch them now, not long before they graduate to humans.

I finally pinpointed what bugs me about Teen Wolf, which is a really good show, but something was really bugging me. It's that it feels, if using a MU comparison, like the things we see on-screen are just the "PRP logs", while all the other tons of roleplay going on isn't there. You see bits and pieces, but only because maybe a normal log turned into a "surprise! prp!" log in the middle. It's all-action, all-the-time, and while that should usually work, on a show with teens that has a lot of parallels to what it is to grow up, to take responsibility, i.e. coming of age, etc., it feels like it's missing something. There's no downtime.
Man, Teen Wolf is making me a little wistful this season. I didn't even love Derek, but I'm kind of sad he's not around, especially because we now have several new pretty white boys who kind of just look the same. (I guess only two. But still.) I definitely miss Peter, because Peter's fucking great and I wish he was around being sarcastic 24:7. I get that they probably want to just move on from certain characters, and how many seasons can they have Peter trying to take over and kill everyone, but, like I said -- wistful about moving on from a number of the original cast.
Re: Lucifer, you can't even make me watch that because that comic series is amazing and that show is 100% unrelated to the series. I wish they'd just not even pretended to have optioned the material.
whoa, someone made a reboot of the show from the 80s that was based on the movie starring Michael J. Fox?

@Ganymede Maybe. I know he's in treatment for PTSD and is looking to get VA disability so that makes sense. I try to be civil and polite but he makes me excruciatingly uncomfortable. There was a lot of gaslighting and other awful things. I have no interest in this whatsoever. I've lost a lot of weight and his compliments and wanting to hug me just skeeve me out. Wanting to go to dinner alone isn't something I want to do and I don't think I could. I think I would have the mother of all anxiety attacks.
oh shit, gaslighting. BAD. Though, with the PTSD happening, one has to wonder if his own brain is gaslighting him. Either way, that's something you do not need.
Does he get visitation with child?

DOTA ALLSTARS (Battle.net)
Since I get a headache playing DOTA2, and don't play it much, I stick to DOTA Allstars on Battle.net.
I'm not the best player, but I know how to be a team player. Problem is, a lot of players are so damn new that they aren't team players at all, and some insist on "going alone" (when they have no escape mechanism like blink or windwalk/lothars edge) and getting killed by 2 or more enemy heroes, particularly in enemy Jungle (neutral creeps).
Ever had it happen where a particularly bad teammate feeds hard early game, so much so that by the time your hero has anything of value, the other team's carries are too fat and you can't take them no matter what you do?

RE: DOTA 2
I tried DOTA2.
I stick to original DOTA Allstars
Reasons:
-It's harder to distinguish the heros at a glance
-the terrain is confusing and too zoomed-in compared to DOTA Allstars.
-the graphics give me a headache
-the hotkey placements are standard (unlike DOTA Allstars where the hotkeys mostly correspond to a letter in the spell name, which can make for some very uncomfortable hand positions for hotkeys on some heros) but I find Q too hard to reach.
-I'm not used to the item system yet - it's not exactly like DOTA Allstars. -

@Shebakoby Hahaha, part time security guard. But he might go back to school. For business. So he can...start a business. Wtf lol
LOL maybe he thinks that since the lack of jerb is what made you kick him to the curb, maybe having jerb will cause you to consider taking him back. (Also, sounds like he's epic fail trying to get with others, so he's retreading old ground for another try).

@Shebakoby He left me because I'm such a crazy bitch he couldn't stand me. I said awful things to him like 'you need to get a job'. Never ever would I have him back. He had to borrow money from his parents and friends to pay child support.
Oh, I get it. (You were being the reasonable responsible adult and he thought you were "crazy" for insisting that he get - le gasp - A JOB! OHNOES!)
Just for the lulz, does he actually have a job now? XD

RE: RL Anger
@Luna hmmm, that is odd, I'm guessing you split from him because he was either being a creeper or controlling/abusive in some manner (and he ran out of things to control)?

RE: RL Anger
@Luna and he's not just making nice for the sake of the kids, even?
