I'm not shocked there's still dial up. I had elderly people yelling at me that they wanted their dial up back when the DSL company stopped providing it. And in some places (hi somewhere out in bumfuck, Alabama) there's no infrastructure for anything BUT dialup.
I don't think I'd mind ancient, kludged set ups if it weren't 1) somehow totally my fault that the neglected set up eventually dies and 2) they will be pissed if we /have/ to upgrade.
@WTFE It would be fine if it worked with anything else on campus. Having to deal with something completely different that refuses to play nicely with everything else then have people to call in bitching about it is twitch inducing.

In fairness, PCOS can make it a complete bitch to lose weight. Fatpeoplehate was less about actually helping fat people and more about shaming them, making fun of them and people wishing they would just die. Fatpeoplehate got banned when they doxxed Imgur staff and had a habit of reposting people's private pictures, among other harassing behavior. They were pretty shitty in general - to the point of making fun of people who DID try to better themselves by living healthier and exercising.
But there were also some pretty good fitness and motivation subreddits. And different people sometimes need more reassurance. It is all good. I'm sorry that people have trashed on you for weight loss. That's rough.
Then again, I've had people make some nasty comments about me deciding to eat a burger, so there's that. 
I imagine more people need to bug off about what others are doing.
@Luna I like r/knitting, the geeknitting and the gamergirls subreddit. Also SRS because I am an evil bird throwing dildos at people in order to crush their internet points and melt their frozen peaches. 
Then again, I can't handle much SRS because then I start getting an eyetic.
@Luna Honestly, it was sad how fatpeoplehate hated even people trying to lose weight and get in shape. They were just an ugly, toxic community. Harassing and doxxing was just the upper end of it.
Then again, I've noticed a lot of 'mock' and 'hate' communities seem to turn toxic.
@SG I dunno, considering a lot of the shitstorm was banning subreddits that were doxxing, harassing and generally being assholes overtly, I think it's fantastic.
We really don't need Stormfront's subreddits or fatpeoplehate or transgender hating subreddits that think trying to drive a 16 year old transperson to suicide is hilarious.

@Silver I dunno, given some of the uh, stellar talent I saw of management who happened to be related to the owner of the call center... sometimes I suspect what you know becomes irrelevant in the face of who.
Also, I hate that job search sites are ignoring my 'no childcare' and 'no sales' settings. Look, you fuckwits, I do not handle children or sales well. I do not want to do these things. Stop suggesting them. Aaaaaah.

... or something. Texas state officials are still trying to figure out if they can refuse to provide licenses to same sex couples. They probably will because they can. Sometimes I love my state, and then sometimes I wish our politicians would burst into flames.

That's an awful lot of companies in general. Indentured servitude and poverty keep employees from leaving because they will probably starve to death if they quit or leave. Woo.
