Double post: Fallen World was the latest game I (with T-main working close) worked on. The help files should be pretty good!

Hey Brant! Still deeply amused at the Mae/Ferrando connection. Will never forget!

RE: +wantrp Command Suggestion
I'll probably get to work on this soon. I dig the idea. And I doubt anyone else who does TinyMUX will get to it sooner?

RE: Sin City Chronicles
@Tempest said in Sin City Chronicles:
@surreality When the people involved are going to put in 0 work beyond copy/pasting code from another game, why would they?
This is going to be Reno 5.0, but set in Vegas, you know, like Fear and Loathing.
The one thing TJ does great is rally the people required to get a "new game" out and rolling.
However, TJ, Coin, and the other "usual suspects" have proven completely incapable or unwilling to actually put any effort into these games beyond "hey, so this is a MU, I guess, and it's WoD-flavored. Go, like, do sandbox stuff, I guess. Okay it's been a month, half of us are quitting staff and/or shutting down the game."
Am I one of the usual suspects? Is @Thenomain? Is @surreality? I'm not sure who I'm supposed to be defending.

Such a friendly person! Wish we had more like you in the community.

RE: nWoD2.0 Support Code?
If it wasn't made painfully clear in multiple threads already...
We want a messenger code that you can use to mark communications as IC, as opposed to @mail, which would be used for OOC.
Everything everyone's went on and on about is just weird nonsense. I don't get it. We're going to have code that goes +email Cobalt=This is a message. And then Cobalt's going to get a line that says "You have new e-mail".
Stop making this weird.

RE: Social Combat: Reusing Physical Combat System?
@Coin Social combat system is being written atm! A spin off RfK, designed to be a bit simpler and more direct.
It'll be done and on Fallen World sooooon.
(Also, I read no other post but the one my name was mentioned in.)
Edit:
Highlights:
- It's simple - one roll vs one roll to accomplish simple things.
- It has a complex system to fall back on (Chronicles of Darkness Social Maneuvering, via the book).
- It allows players to "opt out" when they have an appropriate reason to (such as, say, you hiding your deepest darkest secret from someone's random "detect lies" roll).
- It rewards players who "lose" their roll and comply with the "attackers" goal.
- It allows a lot of stats (skills and merits, in this case) that don't normally see love to have value.

RE: Pitch me your WoD
I play sporadically and staff on Fate's Harvest. It's Changeling: The Lost (and mortal), and mostly 1E rule sets (with some 2E stuff). The setting is Vermont, where a newish Freehold has been established. Our metaplot involves some odd history in the semi-recent past that's being dredged up, as well as a dark force slowly seeping it's power through the town.
To Play: Steady, reliable player base of about 20-30 unique logins, and 8-12 people actively RPing at any given time. There's a pretty steady day-time (US) player base, too. The game is ran by Annapurna, who played November on The Reach and someone else on somewhere else. She's really great.
Not to Play: I personally really dislike 1E, but considering there's no 2E changeling it's palatable.
Elsewise: A lot of people don't like that Spider is playing here. MSB has already went through this a few times, and I don't want to make to dive into it again. I'll just say that staff is aware of this players history and the player has been very responsive to feedback and criticism staff has given.

@Sparks Maybe if you were sweeter they would be, too!

RE: How to type `quit` and quit PennMUSH?
@ixokai said in How to type `quit` and quit PennMUSH?:
I've never understood why people type quit/QUIT and don't just use their mouse to disconnect.
What? Really? On some clients, disconnecting from a connected world will give a warning message. Other times, simply disconnecting doesn't seem to send the appropriate "disconnect" information to the server, and so you'll still appear logged in. This results in something like someone paging you and you never receiving it.
Also who uses a mouse?

@Sparks Demons aren't real. Stop being weird.

RE: +repose command for TinyMux
@derp Oh!
+poseorder
is different code. It can be found here: https://github.com/skewskewskew/MUSHCode/blob/master/Pose Order Machine.txtA lot of people actively dislike
+poseorder
. Some people feel it rushes people, some people dislike the idea of a "pose order" in general and prefer things to flow freely. Whatever the case, I know some people (Arx, SF MUX) have opted to NOT have+poseorder
or something like it, very intentionally. -
RE: Alamias' Playlist
Heya! I played Claudio on The Reach. Kept thinking I'd ran into you here and there... And now I actually know it's you! Much excite.
I'm on Mist Echoes Portland as Viorica.

RE: New +txt/+email/etc code for TinyMUX
@kay said in New +txt/+email/etc code for TinyMUX:
Is it ascii and ansi compatible? I can already visualize the horrible things characters will send each other.
Looks like! Everything is evaluated with the permissions of the person sending it, so if you send ¯_(ツ)_/¯ in red highlight, it ends up looking just like that on the data side! Which does mean it'll get lost when it goes to SQL but that's ok.
Got +txt/new finished tonight, which will pull the oldest unread message automatically (so you won't have to look at your list and see which are unread).

RE: BITN - Seeking Staff and Pre-Launch Support
Development on BITN is chugging right along, but my fingers are tired from typing descs. Is there anyone out there that might want to desc a room for me? We're using mostly existing, real-world locations, and simply writing up descriptions for them. It's not hard work, but it's boring, and gets tedious. But if each and every one of you donates just one desc a day, we can truly make change in our world... er... the world of BITN!
Interested? Shoot me a message here.
