I think you should wait until after Thanksgiving to ask what's going on. But only just.

RE: Virtual table-top
@Arkandel I've played in both Fantasy Grounds and Roll20, though I haven't gotten a look at Fantasy Grounds Unity (I will on Tuesday!). FG is very elaborate and cool but was not user-friendly. Roll20 seems more bare-bones to me, but a little easier to use.
Both have nifty tools that take a lot of work off the GM but I've never been on that side so I can't say much else about it.
Virtual table-tops are, in my experience, like any other TT...depends on your group. I have had a WONDERFUL time during my virtual campaigns.

RE: The Work Thread
@Roz I broke down today too.
All the hug gifs are weird and I'm not a hugger anyway so just imagine an upnod of solidarity or something like that.

RE: The Work Thread
@mietze If an employer won't/can't take care of you, you have to take care of yourself. I have ditched several jobs due to stressful working conditions and never, ever regretted it.

Minecrafters?
Y'all, I am a grown-ass woman who loves playing Minecraft and I know I'm not the only one. Can anyone recommend an awesome mostly vanilla server or realm I could join? I get lonely all by myself.

RE: The Work Thread
Before this goes any further, I do not actually condone hazing, and I do not want my child or any other child to fall headfirst into a puddle or suffer in any other fashion.

RE: The Work Thread
I have a distinct and unhappy memory in elementary school where I bent down for something, my heavily laden backpack flipped down over my head, and I was dragged head-first into a puddle.
But that was long long ago.

RE: How do you discover books?
This podcast: https://www.historyextra.com/
A lot of the episodes are interviews with authors. Yes this is only good for non-fiction.

RE: RL Sads
@L-B-Heuschkel I'm sorry. I went through something similar, though it was a grandparent. Anyone else I would have gone nuclear on but it's so much harder with family, even if they make you miserable.

@reversed 'Munchies' seemed a bit too obvious.

RE: COVID-19 Assistance Thread
I'm not sure if this fits here, but I figured why not (happy to delete it if I should)...this is a site I accidentally ended up in charge of that has a list of resources/instructions for making cloth facemasks and getting them to healthcare providers. I know we have some crafters around here, and some people who might need these.
