Maybe they, like me, were taken aback that a temporary embargo on an overdone character concept was taken as WE HATE DISABLED PEOPLE!

Because let's be honest, the number of people who can actually play a disability respectfully and realistically is MUCH lower than those who use it as, as @Ghost noted, a schtick.

I'm okay with it provided it makes sense in the setting. All my characters are riffs off of 2 or 3 main concepts I always find myself playing.

That being said, right now I have a character I love in a game I do not and I am 100% prepared to copy/paste her into another game.

I was born to a non-nerd family, but was raised in a very 'who the fuck cares what other people think' manner which came in handy. I think I found scifi/fantasy on my own (at the library). I finally met some Actual Nerds in high school and it's been downhill since.

Playing a character with no responsibilties.

Social media has completely changed the game in terms of stupid behavior. Odds are good we all did some really dumb shit, but a) not that many people knew about it and b) we weren’t being bombarded every moment of every day with what other people were doing.

@meg Depends on your definition of 'cool' but here goes.

'Cari' was my staff handle on Second Pass. I wanted to use 'Cecie' which is something I go by on a few places but there was already a 'Cecelie'. So 'Cari' was a second choice for a very specific use-case.

This story's better...when I worked at a community college I would get notices whenever there was free food in the Library fridge. I told my husband this one time before dashing up 4 flights of stairs to get an ice cream cookie sammich before they were gone. He likened this to the Hunger Games and called me Snackness Everdeen. And lo! A much better handle (that I use in other places too).

I'm thinking of playing someone who works in a used book shop. One of those places full of book piles and cats and fire hazards that looks like it should be long gone but somehow isn't.
