I've seen FAR worse autocorrects of Arx.

Our characters were friends on a MUSH some time back. That good solid reliable kind of IC and OOC relationship you could always count on.

We each went on to other projects, the MUSH closed, but I always missed playing with him.

@secretfire Rosters are available as an 'easy way' into the game, with built in families and connections and plot hooks. But there's nothing stopping you from making an OC, and even starting out with an OC. It's just a little bit tougher to get established and you have to be proactive.

@darinelle This was very much a "I can see it coming but it's not here yet and I'm going to deal with at as best I can when it does get here" situation...but then it didn't get here So at least in this case there shouldn't be any fallout.

When I’m dreading dealing with a situation that might cause ooc ramifications for my faction and will no doubt bring someone’s ire down upon my head no matter what decision I make...and then the player in question gets banned.

Widespread food shortages and the possibility of famine are on the minds of most residents of Xanadu Town, though they were of no concern at all to Azov Weyr's gold Eteth, whose mating flight with a foreign bronze suitor soon became a new topic of discussion. Everyone likes to root for their home team, but after the discovery of a sometimes-fatal genetic flaw in one of Azov's draconic bloodlines, the outside influence of the Ongolan bronze Amglyth brings nothing but hope for the upcoming clutch of eggs.

So you know what that means! Second Pass is Searching candidates for a PC Hatching scheduled for mid to late September. Second Pass's Search and Weyrlinghood process is easy-peasy (ain't nobody got time for that!), and you can read more about it at http://www.2pmush.net/about-the-game/search-and-weyrlinghood/. We also have ongoing plots involving the research and marketing of fellis, the aforementioned food shortages and a mysterious serials writer whose works are becoming the talk of Xanadu Town.

We're always on the lookout for all sorts of character types like medics, teachers and college professors (we have a college!), middle-aged people, traders/merchants, people with weird professions, soccer fanatics and a personal assistant to the blue-riding heir to Rami Hold. Seriously, that position's just cursed. You can also adopt an existing NPC or create an instarider.

Second Pass consists of a small but devoted group of players who love roping new people into our odd little world. Theme knowledge (Dragonriders of Pern) is not required as long as you don't mind reading some news files and asking lots of questions. Come check us out at http://www.2pmush.net/!

Second Pass MUSH is turning five! We're celebrating with a fun event on the weekend of July 25th, and we have lots of other things coming down the pipe as well. The residents of Azov Weyr and Xanadu Town are living in interesting times, with an overabundance of rain causing crop failures, shortages and skyrocketing food prices. Will there be famine? Not yet, but winter is coming.

Threadfall is much on everyone's mind, with a recent death of a Xanadu dragonrider helping out with a Fall over Maori Weyr's coverage area. Some chalk it up to overwork or a lack of familiarity with the territory, but some of the riders in her wing say they saw something strange happen before the tragic accident...

The Colonial Council is in session, where the best and brightest (richest?) on Pern make the decisions that affect the lives of the planet's residents. And more importantly, it means that Xanadu's social Season is in full swing! After so much bad news, this year's Fog Ball, the pinnacle of the Season, is much anticipated.

And what of baby dragons? Well, we leave that up to our players! When three or more PCs of Impressible age (under 25) are interested, we hold a PC Hatching. So grab some friends and create some potential candidates. Just can't wait to get on a dragon? Create an instarider!
