Frankly, it's a warning that they'll likely show up here soon and start in via PM and a freshly made account, which means I know to come here and block things lest more triggery crap spews all over my screen. Also keeping a record because since I've had to contact the authorities, a record of the times and attempts and how long they're being sustained is potentially relevant.

@TNP Yeah, I still have the 'sits idle 24/7 in its room' Shang login to keep in touch with a friend of mine there going through cancer recovery that pops in once a month to catch up about life for like, half an hour. It's our only means of contact, so I keep it just sitting there to catch him when he pops in.

@Wretched I've typically seen people work with that without a giant fuss, so it seems to be becoming more a part of the culture.

It breaks down more often in one on one scenes, I've noticed, with the creeper sort. But if it's embraced more on the whole? That will stand out more as 'this is not an OK thing to do', and will not only discourage the pushy creepers from trying it, but help inform folks that yes, that is a real issue, and you absolutely can and should report that behavior as a real issue if it happens that might have been hesitant or uncertain otherwise.

We do already kinda have this as a 'page the GM' kind of thing, if someone wants to make a quiet exit without speaking up to all and sundry.

This ain't a random guest. Same time range as their attacks and 'ignore the fact that no message is even getting through' pattern as the person all of the above is and has been set to avoid contact with. (I will not be removing any of those blocks since the person I actually talk to connects from the room I'm in anyway and don't need to talk to anyone else there anyway.)

Nota bene to the creeps out there: stop being so offended that people call this harassment, stalking, etc. when you constantly make new accounts or guest in somewhere to send messages to people who have established means of preventing you from communicating with them.

I get to wake up every morning and add any new user accounts here that I don't recognize to the 'ignore chats from' list, since there's a delay on when someone can post to the forum, but nodeBB is such a bag of ass, people can send harassing PMs the moment they create an account. It's like watching people who have never held a sword in their life wince away from what is in their hands while trying to lift it and clang-clang-clang while the cheesy slo-mo effects kick in to (totally not even) hide how profoundly bad these people are at sword.

It is the best awful movie, it really is. If I had a working DVD drive and half a clue how to hook all that in to run something on rabb.it, I would offer, because goddamn, it is fucking funny.

Wacky bits and bobs as group efforts (pun not intended) like random reaction tables or whatever? Pfft, this place would be as much fun to build as a group as it would to ever play anything on.

Just shift up setting/whatever every week or two, vote on which thing to do next, groups could pitch an idea to the list they'll help run/set up and do it all round-robin-ish-like.

If you're at the point where I think it sounds like... starting to turn the heel? a lot of instructions have you shift from four needles to three, with all the 'not heel' stitches in holding on one needle while you go back and forth to do the heel on two. Then it tends to go back to four.

If you are doing magic loop... that gif totally sums up my reaction to magic loop.

@Auspice Check now what your local hospital policy is on payment/income. Ours had a whole 'oh, if you earn under X, you pay nothing, we'll pick up what insurance doesn't!' -- well, that just meant 'you can apply for Medicaid and if they approve you, you pay us nothing'. That was a lovely surprise no one ever bothered to explain at all until bills started showing up. Fun fun.

I know you are not in the world's friendliest state re: Medicaid, so please check this. I don't mention this to make you more anxious, though I know it'll not be easy to hear, but having gone through this and had an epic freakout too late to do anything about it but fork out piles of cash we don't have, check their policies and the fine print first so you're prepared.

Hopefully, you will never, ever need this information -- but I'd feel like a jerk if I didn't give you a heads-up to check into this ahead of time. Depending on your insurance and whatever hospital network is there, whatever they do may end up being a huge load off your mind instead, and that'd be a good thing to know, too.
