RE: Ridiculous Embarrassing Moments
I'm 13.
It's the junior high talent show.
My friend wants to dance to Weird Al's Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters From a Planet Near Mars.
I agree.
Then his mother fits me for a hamster costume.
The rest is only partially successfully blocked from my memory.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
I'm just so goddam tired and so constantly on my last nerve and so probably a real delight to be around.

RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
The Lies of Locke Lamora‘s Camorr, set prior to the first book. Heavy focus on the lowlives of Camorr, using a modified Blades in the Dark to allow for crews and jobs.
Or, if we agree that only one book set in Camorr simply didn’t tell us enough about the setting to put a game there, Nevernight’s Godsgrave, also set prior to the first book.

RE: Old game WHO lists
Along similar lines, this ancient-ass list of WoD MUSHes I found recently is kind of hilarious. The ad copy is amazing.
Cajun Nights
Last info: 12 Oct 1995, from TSC
Address: gilean.solace.mh.se 7373
Location: New Orleans, LA, USA.
Timeframe: 1998
Notes:
STILL not open yet.
New Orleans...the city shrouded in mystery. No other place in America commands such intense curiosity as the Big Easy, a city of parties, of laughter, but of a darker side, where criminals are local heros, and the police is known for its terrible brutality. From Mardi Gras to the Jazz Festival, N'awlins is steeped in centuries old traditions of work, play, and music. Experience the history, put your finger on the pulse of American's most amazing City.City of Darkness
City of Darkness is a Storyteller MUSH unlike any other. Its setting is Manchester, an industrial city in the north-west of England and a place of many extremes. City of Darkness is at melandra.cs.man.ac.uk 2000, connect to the guest character, take some time to read our -extensive- news files and find out all about us. There will be extensive changes to the MUSH starting in June and characters with extensive RP before that point will have a much better position in the new MUSH which will replace the existing one.Extensive!
Dark Gift
Dripping from the sewer grate above your head, a brownish, syrup type substance slides down your cheek as you start awake... wondering... "where the hell am I?" A rat skitters accross you foot and you jerk it back, splashing sewer water up onto your face. You look around in the dim light shining down from the sewer grate above, long, cylidrical objects lay in piles above the water line and below... tatters and trash flow in the murky slime.
The light from above is blocked and you look up to see what happened... but you are greeted by a face only... well, even a mother wouldn't love this thing. "Well, my precious little gravelly bit of human flesh... what do you think of my little... cupboard?" the sounds come out of the hole in the face that resembles a mouth... four claw-like fangs protrude from it's lips in a hideous smile.
"Speechless?"
It walks away bringing the light back to flood the crawlspace you're in... you look off into the darkness, shivering, cold, hungry... and a pair of red eyes stare back at you from the din. "Welcome... to Pittsburgh... Monsignor..."
And the world goes black...That actually happened every time I logged on there. (Like 90% sure I played a pro-wrestler ratkin on Dark Gift.)
GarouMUSH
GarouMUSH can be found at "cesium.clock.org 7000". There is a guest character, appropriately named "guest" with password "guest". If you're interested in what we have to offer, feel free to come by and take a look around. Garou is a roleplaying MUSH centered around the lives of the werewolves at a rather large Sept in eastern Washington state. A primer document is available for anonymous ftp from "ftp.cygnus.com" in "/pub/garoumush.guide.txt". One of the players maintains a WWW page at "http://nyx10.cs.du.edu:8001/~whartwel/garou.html".I kind of love that GarouMUSH clearly didn't want anyone actually playing there.
Trinity
First of all, the staff of TrinityMUSH would like you to know...we all MUSH naked! Just kidding...seriously, TrinityMUSH is set in the Durham/Raleigh/Chapel Hill area of North Carolina in the year 1999.Oh man, so much personality!
Veil of Seduction
A quaint office located in a seemingly highrise with windows that show the downtown area of Charlotte, NC, the location and home of Veil of Seduction. It is layed out in a deco design, keeping to the basics of black and white. There are a variety of pictures hanging from the walls displaying different aspects, bars, resterants, and seedy sides of things. You get the feeling of enrapturement as you gaze out the windows, something sultry lies behind it all. Something that wraps you within its fingers and snags the spirit from your body. The Veil Of Seduction is something we must all pierce, are you willing to venture through the veil and into the gates of intrigue? The only thing I remember about VoS was that an Amy hung out in the OOC room, looking to make custom rape victims.

RE: Stranger Than Fiction MUX
Too bad their anti-MSB rule means people are less likely to share their character names here, since actually trying to find RP on the game was like pulling teeth.
During my brief time there I never once saw more than one scene happening at a time.
A plot was announced with the promise of public and private scenes. One public scene was dropped. A week and a half later a private scene was run for the players in that public scene. There were people in that private scene who literally had not logged into the game whatsoever since the public scene they happened to have been on for happened.
At one point a post was made announcing the private scene and encouraging those not involved so far to interact with those who had been invited to get involved. I have no idea how this is meant to work.
Though the plot apparently involved the carnival nothing ever actually happened there, though I saw many players trying to do public RP there.
It's noteworthy that this appears to be the first staff-run plot since July. Though the ad mentions player run plots I didn't see any and nobody I talked to there had ever reported hearing of any being run.
A game with one very closed plot every six months, no prps and little public RP does not really have a lot to offer new players.
This is all in addition to the fact that the wiki is a shrieking disaster, contrary information seems to be the name of the game and that staff have a really weird attitude toward sex. There is anti-TS language all over the place (which, fine, it's a bunch of 15-17 year olds, this policy is ok by me) but then there is an actual post dedicated to how TS is fine, but behind closed doors. Which is just such a weird reversal.
And I'm now told votes earn you XP you can't spend because they don't really have a system in place for that yet.
Admittedly much of this is hearsay. Maybe some of this has changed? Maybe people got in on the plot? Guys, the last time I was this dissatisfied with a game I took it over. I decided against it this time. I gave up after a week. So if you hate me at least the game has that going for it!

RE: Good or New Movies Review
@wildbaboons said in Good or New Movies Review:
I haven't seen the Last Jedi yet but there is this:
Some are claiming its just trolls, but I usually find the audience score to be the more accurate reflection of what I'll think of a movie. 56% seems to confirm the feeling of "flat".
The user reviews that are just flat out 1s seem to come down to two camps:
- people who are mad that there aren't more white dudes in the central cast
- people who are mad it wasn't a remake of Empire

RE: Meanest (But Funniest) Thing You've Done in a Game
Classic story.
Boy meets girl.
Boy falls for girl.
Boy and girl head off to a private room to fuck.
Not their private room.
Euthanatos who owns the private room logs in.
Life adept Euthanatos people fucking on his front lawn.
Pages staff.
Wizard has arrived.
<OOC> Guy says, "wtf"
Euthanatos makes roll.
<OOC> Wizard says, "Guy, you ejaculate so hard both of your testicles forcefully shoot out of your body."
<OOC> Guy says, "WTF!!!!!!"
Girl has disconnected.I, the Euthanatos, eventually quit the game because I knew I'd never again experience such a moment of pure beauty.

RE: Etta from Stranger Than Fiction
That was me!
I was also Tommy. A fact that blows the minds of everyone I tell.
Boy do I have some opinions about how StF played out.
-
RE: Stranger Than Fiction MUX
If there was a no tattoos rule I broke it thoroughly. Not only did Tommy have a half dozen tattoos, I once actually had a scene revolving around him getting a really awful one and having to be talked out of it. And Tommy wasn't shy about showing them, either, since he was a completely obnoxious dipshit.

RE: Movie/TV/Whatever Mash-Ups
Fat Eddie Murphy develops a serum that turns him into a suave, sophisticated hitman in The Nutty Professional.
Two straight hours of people betraying one another while industrialist Cruella deVil cuts cops' ears off in 101 Reservoir Dogs.
Woo. We found the comedy mine.

RE: Spirit Lake - Discussion
This thread has become a great ad for self-care. Can we split off all the unnecessary MU stuff to another thread?

RE: Arx Alts
I'm Niklas. And while I won't share my alt, if you know me and have met him you probably wouldn't be surprised, if you didn't just go ahead and assume.

RE: Good TV
My god, finally saw TTGttM.
So good.
"Robin, if your team is going to poop on the props and beat up the actors this isn't going to work."
I literally need this entire movie made into gifs.

RE: Well, this sums up why I RP
@Ghost said in Well, this sums up why I RP:
@TheOnceler Correct. I havent read a book since I was nine. Let's keep it constructive; this isnt the Hog pit.
If you honestly believe that some fear of PC outcry is preventing authors from writing anything 'too far beyond cute bunnies having birthday parties' then I for reals don't know how to go about replying to an opinion so, so, so bizarrely off base.
Then again, leave it to edgelords to complain about other people being sensitive.
-
RE: Arx Alts
It's a confusing dynamic.
Edit: I'm reminded of the time I apped a Malkavian with disassociative identity disorder and after approval I shared his login with two of my friends and we'd all play him.

RE: Good TV
Man, if you don't love Donkey Doug we just don't have anything to talk about.
(and some Pillboi)
BORTLES!

RE: PB 'realism'
Whenever someone describes themselves as attractive and then uses Tom Hiddleston as their PB I first double check to make sure they aren't playing some kind of were-ferret and then I immediately complain to staff. It's just the right thing to do.

Have you been concerned that Aquaman might be bad?
Well, put your worries to rest!
It's fucking terrible!
