@bobotron While I do wonder if Shuri will take over as BP, I could also see her taking up the Iron Man mantle, realizing the comics' Riri Williams/Ironheart character.

That wouldn't be great. First of all, there's no reason why they can't find another young black actress out there rather than lumping multiple characters into one. But Riri's story of her family being killed by gun violence is uniquely American and it's important to her character.

All of my closest friends at this point are people I originally met on MU*s. Including my roommate!

Basically the same. Except replace roommate with wife.

And also I didn't meet my kids MUing.

Tho I'd rather catch them doing drugs than logging on to pretend to be a vampire or w/e tbqh.

Having the CEO send out an email saying "everyone is getting a bonus of X!" and then the VP of your department is like "hey, secret meeting tomorrow, guys 😉 " and when you go in there he hands out envelopes and is like "gotcha something special 😄 " and then in the envelope it says you'll be getting the exact same bonus the CEO told everyone about the day before.

I mean, hooray bonus? But, like, damn son. Way to get a guy's hopes up.

I've never gotten a bonus and then immediately gone to look for available jobs in my area.

A collection of snippets from reviews of Cats that will likely be more enjoyable than the movie itself.

Can you make a movie so bad that the Academy takes back your Best Director Oscar? Asking for Tom Hooper.

Once Tom Hooper's 110 minutes of Cats are over, theater is dead. And we unchosen ones are left, tragically, to continue living.
      New York Times
It's amazing to see what Adult Swim can accomplish with a $100 million budget. I never knew Tom Hooper was capable of making a surrealist nightmare that would rival Jodorowsky, that could baffle David Lynch, that would prompt even the dark god Cthulhu to emit an impressed eldritch shriek of “nehehehehehe”
      Vulture
To assess Cats as good or bad feels like the entirely wrong axis on which to see it. It is, with all affection, a monstrosity.
      The Daily Telegraph
Glad to report that Cats is everything you’d hoped for and more: a mesmerisingly ugly fiasco that makes you feel like your brain is being eaten by a parasite. A viewing experience so stressful that it honestly brought on a migraine.

I once put in a request to run a PRP since their ad here, the ad that drove me to play there, said they were PRP friendly and wanted players to assist building the game.

What a fuckin lie that was.

To the day that the game ended my request sat in the jobs queue untouched. But they DID eventually post that you needed familiarity with the theme to run PRPs. And how did you get familiarity with the theme? By being in the abundant plots that never got run.

I'll post something long in the main thread next time I'm at an actual computer since most of it picks up on complaints I'd already posted.

Needless to say it ending the way it did doesn't surprise me and none of the stories I've heard about the staff's previous games have surprised me.

In the end I'm just angry because saving this game would have been easy and they just didn't give a shit.

Anyway, it looks like someone at DC accidentally okayed a really great movie. I bet they got fired afterward.

Big eh on Iron Lad. Since they've not done anything with Kang yet you don't really lose out by ditching the Iron Lad character.

I'd rather see Riri Williams as Ironheart. See if RDJ wants to earn a few million for a day of ADR and have him be her Jarvis.

      ...

      Mickey Mouse Clubhouse?

So nobody here has seen the absolutely sublime Paul Rudish Mickey Mouse cartoons that have basically been the face of the character since 2013?

At this point with 94 shorts they're edging in on nearly as many Rudish shorts as there were original Mickey Mouse shorts between 1928 and 1953.

Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald make regular appearances. The show is a total throwback to the zaniness of the black and white Plane Crazy/Steamboat Willy days. And they're willing to get kinda disturbing, like the one where Minnie, Clarabell and Daisy go to the fanciest restaurant in town, or the one where Mickey fights a gang of pinata bandits in the old west, ending with this image of joyous village children celebrating Mickey's victory.

@Ghost said in Well, this sums up why I RP:

A variant of the term, cancel culture, describes a form of boycott in which someone (usually a celebrity) who has shared a questionable or unpopular opinion, or has had behavior in their past that is perceived to be either offensive or problematic called out on social media, is "canceled"

Have there been modern authors who have been boycotted by people for having different/unpopular opinions or having taken a different direction in content than some random "fans" (airquotes: faaaans) desired?

Yeah. That's not really what she said? But also, you're deffo right. It's so sad the way that people protesting her shitty opinions has made it so JK Rowling is unable to sell any books.

Yeah, as I said, a lot of the options are feminine looking. Your male character ends up looking androgynous or just plain young. I suspect it is because it is designed for elves, as there is only one set of human ears and like a dozen or more elf ears.

Even the elf ears options aren't great if you like your elves to have regular ears, but pointy, as opposed to big ol' wings on the side of your head.
