      Just because something is the norm somewhere doesn't mean we have to just accept it, of course. Bowing is the norm in Japan whereas a handshake is more common in the United States. Adapt to where you are, or look like an idiot.

      @SunnyJ

      While I appreciate you linking actual research (really, I do, it is a rarity), I'm not sure that this backs up the claim, as almost all of this research was conducted almost 20 years ago. There is not a single article there cited after 2005, while most of them were conducted in the mid 90's.

      Great, now I feel ancient. THANKS GRANDPA.

      @auspice He would never give whiskey to a woman he knew was pregnant. (With a man of whom he did not approve.)

      Prince Augustus Grayson, on Arx. Hardass super-traditionalist with every word thought out and examined before being spoken. Quiet, reserved, with the gravitas of a seasoned statesman. Basically every one of my favourite character tropes thrown into one man.

      @auspice Let's bring back customized cursors and broken no-right-clicking scripts. OOH. And websites that only function 'properly' in certain browsers.

      @derp Gifts are subject to taxation if they're cumulatively over a certain amount. Jussayin.

      I might actually be able to get a permanent-permanent teaching gig, rather than long-term substitute jobs.
      Fuck yes.

      Option 2 is good, theoretically. The main sticking point, given my brief skim-through, is... where do new people come from if they can't get in?

      @ganymede Isn't that the result of the fucking?
      Or am I doing it wrong?

      @aria Well. I'm in a Fallcost discord chat talking to someone I TS'd with ten years ago.

      Sooo. It's possible.

      @faraday To a point, yeah. bur if your game uses a system that is published and out there... then it's not on the game to ensure you've read the book.

      If I set a game in the Harry Potter universe, I expect you to know what a horcrux is.

      @faraday I'm happy to teach.
      I'm not happy to be expected to teach. That's the line.
      If you join a game, one is expected to be willing to learn. Those that 'don't know' WoD don't seem willing to absorb a damned thing.

      @insomnia That... seems like the plot line to a shitty Friends episode. But, you know. If you're single, consider this a PSA.

      I want a Requiem of Rome game. That's all I want.
      I mean I'll probably get bored of it, since that's what I do, but I still want it.
