Wow. SW: New Worlds. That is a blast from the past.

I love forgetting I entered a giveaway, only to then be notified that I won.

In person I am very socially awkward. I am outgoing as well, which makes for this interesting mishmash of personality traits. I try very hard not to be awkward, but when it really gets the better of me I find it hard to look people in the eyes when I talk to them and sometimes my hands and voice tremble slightly and it makes me feel more aware of the awkwardness and... yeah.

This made me remember the Spycraft RPG system. I never got to do more than play a session or two, but I do remember it being fun. Wonder if you could make something like that work for a GI Joe setting.

ETA: Mentioned in case someone might get a bug up their butt to make a GI Joe game and would want suggestions on possible RPG systems.

I think they are a five pound bag. They are the potatoes that come in the brown plastic bags.

My take on baked potato soup:

Potatoes: Baked
Bacon
Onion (not red/purple)
Milk
Salt & Pepper
Baked potato toppings: Chives, shredded cheddar, bacon bits, sour cream, etc.

(I don't use/give amounts for the various ingredients because this is totally something you can do to taste or based on what you have on hand.)

Bake potatoes until just a little over the done stage and saute onions and bacon together (bacon won't get crispy). Drain a little of the grease off if you want but don't drain it entirely as it flavors the soup along with the bacon/onion mixture. When the potatoes are done you cut them open and put the tater innards into the pot with the mixture and add milk until it's the desired consistency you want. I tend to go for something between a thinner mashed potato and a thicker chowder base after everything's mashed together. Heat through, salt and pepper to taste (most likely won't need too much salt due to the bacon) and serve with baked potato toppings if desired.

(This is not diet/artery friendly, consider yourself warned!)

ETA: To give an example of what measurements I use for a very hungry family of four:

1 bag of potatoes (usually use the whole thing since these potatoes tend to be on the small side)
1-1 1/2 pound of bacon (some brands are just a pound, others a pound and a half)
1 large yellow or white onion
However much milk needed for desired consistency - usually about half a gallon

I know it doesn't always like it when I home out to look something up but that's a minor annoyance since I usually don't do anything but hang out OOCly - typing on the touch pad is a pain and makes RPing via that method really unfun.

And this is why police in more than a small handful of cities have requested that streamers come and 'register' with them, letting them know that they do stream and might someday be targeted by someone who might try to instigate a swatting. It turns a potentially scary and/or deadly situation into one where the police know about you and instead of sending SWAT out they'll send a patrol car instead and they'll come and check things out.

What I meant was that, unless someone is a particularly nasty shit bird, they're not going to want anyone to get shot. Their intention is to embarrass and inconvenience, not get people killed.

I think this happens more with gamers than it does with mu*ers because of, put simply, jealousy. Many gamers who get swatted or doxxed are very successful at what they do and their success is very visible. You can go onto Twitch or YouTube and see how well someone is doing simply based on numbers - viewers, subscribers, followers, etc. While most people can be happy for them, or maybe indifferent, even, there are some who are driven to irrationality. These are the people who swat. These are people who DDOS and doxx amd whatever else they can think of to cause harm. I will say that I do think the swatters don't (usually?) mean for anyone to be hurt or killed, but they do want them to be ruined in other ways, mainly their reputation.

I was telling @Jim-Nanban a while back about how this thread was making me feel kind of old. Man, how long has it been?

I always lamented not being more of a history buff like a lot of the players there seemed to be, but I did enjoy my time there, brief as it was.

And here I was, thinking he was a character who had been lost to time, Thanks, guys.

I wish I could remember the name of the character I played. All I remember was that he was a Punjabi soldier of some flavor or another.

A Mexican restaurant opened within walking distance of us. This has been a blessing as such things as carne asada tacos and copious amounts of guacamole seem to be a current comfort food for me. I could seriously eat that at least once a week and not get sick of it.
