@Ghost I played that a few years ago. It was pretty good.

RE: Crusader Kings III Console/PC
So the short of it is that with knowledge, you get better everything else. You get better traits, which makes vassals like you more and disencourages murder / rebellions. The more you're liked, the more troops you get. In addition, the quicker you can upgrade your military units and get more men at arms. It improves development quickly, and development is where your taxation is based, so you get more money. It makes the church like you, and makes converting counties to your religion / getting a claim much faster; this also helps getting money from the Pope if you're Catholic/Insular.
I guess the only thing it doesn't really improve is intrigue, but the truth of the matter is you don't need high intrigue to be successful.
It also makes your ruler live longer, which is /huge/, and you know 1 year before he dies. There's no surprises (because everyone loves you, you're not likely to get murdered -- and you have money to improve their opinion). Your ruler can live, in medieval terms, to 70-80 yrs old, whereas if you focused on anything else, he could drop dead at 40.

RE: Crusader Kings III Console/PC
I have 1.6K hours in CK2 and around 500 hours in CK3.
In truth: I liked CK2 a lot more. The graphics were a lot worse, but ... it wasn't as cartoony.
CK3 isn't a bad game, but it seems like it's the same thing happening over and over again. Just like CK2, the strongest tree is knowledge bar none (I can go into detail if prodded, if not, trust me, it's Knowledge).

RE: Mourning a character, how do you do it?
@hella A character of mine just died ( or more accurately, was rendered unplayable). It was for a very justified IC reason that I knew about when making the character. But even if it wasn't, I genuinely wouldn't care. I don't get emotionally attached to the characters I make. Not only that, I don't understand why the vast majority of players do. It's a game. It's not real. These aren't real people. Their lives are fantasy lives. I can make a different character in a day, and I did. If this one dies, I also won't care.

RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
I was 39 when I was diagnosed with adult ADHD. I found an online treatment site, and decided to go with it. I was prescribed adderall. The sad truth of the matter is, if I was given this during high school, I sincerely believe I would have gotten into MIT or another top tier school. I struggled my entire life with concentration issues, giving things the attention they deserve. With adderall, my concentration and focus isses have gone away. Repetitive tasks become fun instead of things to avoid.
My parents, and I don't blame them, were very against psychological and psychiatric help. It's from the generation they were raised. My mother, when I was very young, asked a doctor if I could be ADHD. The doctor asked if I could sit through a movie, which I used to watch Star Wars over and over again. So she said yes and the dr. said I couldn't have ADHD.
It was a game changer. Some things have changed for the worse: I don't have a sex drive now. But as a single man, I don't think it's that bad of a thing. The amount of focus it helps me gather is simply incredible.
It's not for everyone, but I think it was a good idea for me.

RE: Too Much
@lotherio I think big scenes could work, hypothetically, but you can't run it with one person or else it'd take all night. In addition, prep work through jobs would be a good idea, to cut down the clutter and focus on the task at hand. A lot of little scenes that coalesce into a big scene is likely the ideal goal, IMO.

RE: Magic in games
I would like to see an Ars Magica game. But I don't know how good it would be lol.

RE: The Worst Thing You Have Done in this Hobby Thread
@royal I didn't know the full story behind it. I thought it was a random PVP event. That's pretty sad.
