@jibberthehut So the larger frame is from Amazon, and I got it awhile ago when I had 2 out of the three pieces. It didn't come in a smaller size, but I wasn't necessarily planning to get more cats (and then I did, because I love @Crawfish's work and wanted to get Galen riding a shark for his player).

I got a float frame because I didn't want to deal with matting or color matching. And also, I really like the look of float frames and have some in other rooms. And for multiple pieces in the same frame, float frames are fantastic.

And then I got my third piece in the mail yesterday, and I was like, "Hmm, I'm sure that frame I bought earlier comes in a smaller size." WRONG.

As it turns out, it is difficult to find a smallish float frame. To find one in white is nigh impossible. Couldn't find one on Amazon. Ended up just googling for frames for sale. I ended up buying this one on sale from Michael's, which necessitated a trip to the store to pick it up, because they wanted more than the cost of the frame to ship it to me. Okay, fine. It's a 10 minute drive.

Except that it did not come with hanging hardware, because although the online description listed it as perfect for desk or wall, they did not provide a means for getting it to stay on the wall. Luckily, I had some hanging brackets, which I attached to the back of the frame.

      So, larger float frame: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GSKZC14/ -- easy to hang, 12 x 14, $20.

      Smaller float frame: https://www.michaels.com/studio-decor-expressions-float-frame/10156614.html -- not so easy to hang, 6 x 8, $8.49.

@il-volpe Years ago, I was trying to get a rescue dog for my grandmother, and I really wanted someone who wouldn't shed. I found this sweet little guy on a rescue site and filled out a lengthy form on behalf of my parents (who my grandmother lived with) and did all of the footwork with them.

The first time the rescue lady called me, she was all, "How many hours a day will the dog have someone at home with him?" And I replied dryly, "Twenty-three out of twenty-four. My grandmother is home all the time." And she said, "Oh, that's good for the dog!" And I said, "Yeah, it's good for the grandmother, too." I also had to explain to her more than twice that my grandmother lived with my parents, and my parents would keep the dog if something happened to her.

My mother rolled her eyes when they demanded a home visit, and I had to come by with my dog to make sure the new dog would not object to a visiting dog. It was a shenanigan. All of it. My parents adopted the dog. As loyal as he was to my grandmother, he's still my dad's doggo. In fact, at this point, he's been Dad's dog longer than he kept an eye on Grandma.

@Deviante Yeeeeeeeeeeees. Sorta like how I watch House Hunters. I love hearing what the couples each do for a living, and what their 'budget' is. XD

"My husband is a professional dog walker, and I used to teach kindergarten, but with our first baby on the way, I've decided to give into my passion in art. We've got a real strict budget of $1,200,000, and I'm so excited to see what we can do!"

Here is the updated site: http://arxkitties.s3-website.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/

If I have missed your kitty, please let me know. Preferably with a link where I can grab the original art that @Crawfish is creating so magnificently.

@ganymede I don't do the art. I just transform it into new formats.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have a @Crawfish original that you would like to have converted to Evennia markup for an in-game object, please let me know.

Ahaha! Also? This totally reminded me to add my Ida-cat to the character gallery 😄 😄 😄

"Ida-cat" sounds like something a lawyer pretending to be a cat would say.

      Ida-cat has a forge hammer!

And we took the image, edited out the background, converted it to Evennia's mark-up, and made it as a tchotchke, which we left in Ida's shop.

Because we are highly amused imps.

@arkandel My vet allowed me to schedule something for my little old man dog who had cancer. The vet prescribed him pain meds for palliative care. And it was super hard, but knowing that Saturday was coming for him gave me about a week to process that I was losing him. And I cried a lot, and my boss let me smuggle him into work, and my spouse had time to prepare to deal with what an emotional wreck I was.

And he ate basically nothing but donuts for a week, and he got time to visit with all of the veterinary nurses and techs he'd flirted with over the years. He went out happy and sugared up and cradled in my arms, after my very sweet vet offered a prayer before the injections. (I am not religious, but having someone offer to pray for me in a heartfelt manner is an emotional balm.) And I had time to save fluffs of his fur, arrange for a memorial pawprint, and decide on a pet cremation package.

It is much easier, I think, to deal with the emotional weight of that decision over several days -- knowing that you could say, "No, no, I cannot just yet," but that you won't. Because while your grief will linger, her pain will not.

I am so sorry that you're going through this and that you have to make this decision.

My 17 year old has a 36" waist with a 32" inseam. I cannot tell you how many times he's ended up in a 34/30 or 38/32 or some variation thereof because apparently each brand gets to decide how long an 'inch' actually is. And lets not get into the shirt sizes which range from Medium to X-Large because apparently even men are now supposed to just be tiny twigs with no shoulders.

Even within the brand, it's not standard.

My spouse has the habit of ripping the tags out of pants. Trying to figure out the size of some of his older pants in an effort to buy new ones, I measured the waistbands with measuring tape, and... they were wildly inconsistent. Even the ones that still had tags would have 4-6 extra inches in the larger sizes, and at least 2-4 extra inches in the smaller sizes.

Yes, we've discussed the issues of cultural insensitivity. I'm still thinking the best way to handle it. I'm not 100% onboard with writing our own world, because I lose interest in things quick.

I might look into a bit of worldbuilding, in part because there are some factors that I am interested in including regarding ecosystems and trade routes that are limited by real-world geography.

Idiotic racism will always be a factor, because people are really carelessly oblivious when it comes to cultures and stereotypes.

@packrat Our local grocery (Publix FTW) has an employee offer to help you to your car with your purchases. This means you never have to worry about your cart, because the employee will take it with them when they return to the store. They'll often use the time to snag other carts that may have been abandoned in the parking lot. It's an excellent system.
