      (Intro music.)

      The Cold War never ended.

The world moved on, the focus shifting from Russia and China to the Middle East, but the Cold War never really ended. Old enemies never ceased to be enemies just because there was a new, shared one. The only question now is /which/ enemy dropped the bomb.

Seattle was the first city hit in the attacks of 1995. The Puget sound, its resources and it's military bases, made it a prime target. Other cities lost were San Francisco, Los Angeles, Pheonix, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, New York, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Tulsa, and Miami. The lucky 13.

The attacks killed millions. The fallout afterwards killed hundreds of millions. All communication ceased. Those that found safety held onto it by any means necessary. The world was in chaos.

Twenty years have passed since the initial bomb. Radiation still runs rampant, creating monsters of those who can't escape it. Survivors have banded together, but not all of them have the same ideals. The Patriots support the old government and have built their own military. The New World is formed of scientists and academics who want to rebuild fresh. The Neo Nation seek to dominate and enslave those they can. A few Independents exist on the fringes, unsure of which train wreck to join.

Outposts have been established, even at Ground Zero. The Patriots, the New World, and the Neo Nation have all set up territories within Seattle, and each want to claim the city for their own reasons. It's up to the survivors as to which one succeeds.

Ground Zero will be a mortal-only nWoD Mu*. We are pretty bare bones at the moment and we need your help. Especially code help, as I have been fumbling along as a beginner (at least to help me clean up my messes and point me in the right direction - I'm a quick learner). That said, we're also looking for descers, for people willing to help with help files, for those willing to contribute to ideas about theme and plots, future STers, wiki experts, and, well... pretty much everything.

If it sounds interesting, let me know.

      P.S. There will be mutants.

Hey there, I've made an NWOD character generator and sheets and diceroller. It's waiting to be plugged into a game. You want? Send me a message on here and I'll talk with you :D,

What about the NWOD system stands out that you would use it? Other than "lots of people know it already"?

I have a waggish sense of humor.

I've always wanted a system with a little more lethality for a post-apoc setting, where combat is super dangerous and should always be cause for second thought, but that is probably literally just me.

I need to upload this character generation system since it's actually a MODULAR character generator I made, then I sculpted up an OWOD and NWOD version of it. So if you choose another system, then you're set.

The character generation system is set up to where you can edit it without my help if you can learn from examples. There is also a "stat" function so that you can plug it in to code from other people instead of having to code whole systems around a new chargen structure.

If you log in to tex-mux.mmlx.us port 2015 and type "break shit" you will find the NWOD character generator in its current state, which comes with the ability to filter merits and check pre-requisites for you so that staff doesn't have to run around going "OK, does he have the pre reqs for this merit?"

I'm all new to this "being part of the mu* community" thing, where do I upload this sort of stuff for people to cavort?

@GentlemanJack Github would probably be a good place. It's free for public repositories of code and you can make as many public repositories as you'd like.

@Misadventure Pretty much. I was originally debating using a system like Exodus (http://www.loki.us.com/images/Exodus_Survivor_s_Guide_v1.5.pdf) but enough people said they liked the nwod system that I decided to stick with it. Also, as someone who is not fantastic at coding, it simplifies things for me (particularly when it comes to CG).

                    @Wizz It's all in how it's used.

I don't know if this game is still being worked on, but I saw the new Mad Max last week and it reawakened my burning need for post-apocalyptic zaniness. Any progress?

Also, I somehow completely forgot about Atomic Highway. It's a really easy system to learn and free to download, if you're still open to considering alternatives to a generic WoD system. There's car combat and mutants and scavenging and all sorts of awesome shit.

Atomic Highway is neat, at least from reading I have yet to have the change to play it.

@Wizz Slowly but surely. Grid's halfway desced. Basic code is up and just working our way through chargen and the like (thank you @GentlemanJack for the help!). Had a glitch with the wiki but hoping to have that up in the next week or so. We're loosely aiming for July but we haven't set an official date yet. Soon! I'll be updating here as soon as the wiki's up and running.

Atomic Highway looks interesting, I'll have to take a look at it. I do love me some post-apoc gameage.

So... this project has stalled a little due to the fact that we need help.

                                  1. We need code help, badly. I can code basic things but I am floundering. We need help. It doesn't have to be long-term help, but we definitely need help setting up, particularly with +dice and chargen code. We're using Rhost and we're debating between using the nWoD (mortal) system or the Exodus (http://www.loki.us.com/images/Exodus_Survivor_s_Guide_v1.5.pdf) system. I'm leaning towards the latter but it will require coding that is beyond my ability.

                                  2. We're currently using genesismuds as a server and we'd like to move elsewhere, as it is fairly restrictive in certain areas and has some funky quirks. Are there any server providers that people recommend? And is there anyone who can help walk a newbie through transferring a database? And possibly setting up a wiki? Please?

As for the game itself, we have a grid that's 90% ready to go, a setting and theme that is nearly ready (we're still hammering out a couple details, which will depend on the system we go with), and base code (other than dice and chargen/sheet code).

If you are interested, please PM me for more details and information. Or direct anyone who might be interested towards this post. Please. We need halp.
