@darc I'm not sure what codebase you're using, but looks like it's at least TinyMUX. If you all need any code help, or WikiMedia help, feel free to holler.
-
@skew It is TinyMUX, yes. For the most part, I have code that I've written across a bunch of games to get us mostly up and running. The bear is anything related to nWOD, as I have nothing to work from, so that's been the lion's share of the work. Wiki fu is definitely appreciated though!
Speaking of Code, Chargen is OPEN! It'll take some time to get the XP room up and running for all that delicious Tier XP, but we still are on target for Beta sometime on Friday.

I'm poking around this game. If anyone wants a hanger on or anything like that, lemme know.
Prefer non-changeling since I'm already doing Fate's Harvest.
-
I think I'm passing on this one. My online time is limited, and I have other commitments.

Thanks for letting us know!

I can't decide between vampire and changeling. What's the consensus on this?
Clarification: Which spheres are other people preferring

Speaking for myself, I ended up answering that question with: both! Though I think out of the two Changeling's the more popular so far, judging by the OOC conversations I've heard and the wiki so far.
-
I am trying to come up with something, just waiting for it to all gel together in my head and be playable.
-
Let me know if Possessed become app'able. That's kind of the only sphere I have much interest in left these days.
-
I have wanted so badly not to break my post count of 666...but goddamn it, some things are worth it: I'd totally come outta MU* retirement for Mummy, it sounds like such a blast!
-
Chargen is In! (Although people find bugs for me still, but we've got most of them ironed out). XP Room is mostly built, and we have some players approved and on-Grid!

I have a lot of good stuff to say about this place so far!
Despite the tendency of similar WoD MUs to frequently have staffers that are aloof, if not downright mean, my experience so far is that every staffer on SanFran is super friendly, super diligent, super helpful, and enthusiastic about creating a fun space to tell stories.
I was wary at first of the decision to allow Mage and Sin-Eater alongside templates like Vampire and Changeling, as I've seen the power disparity elsewhere make cross-sphere PRPs all but impossible. But so far, Xapham has made a lot of solid, common sense adjustments to various Sin-Eater abilities to 'un-break' them. Likewise, Azrael has made a number of adjustments to Vampire in order to make it a more robust, tough template, when the RAW end up delivering a creature that is inordinately squishy compared to most any other gameline. I'm really seeing the staff here turn the dials to deliver a level playing field, as best they are able, with a focus on amending template Advantages that already exist instead of tacking on a bunch of new rules in addition to what is there to begin with.
I do think Changeling and Werewolf will need for a couple of serious bones to be thrown their way to be brought up to speed with the adjusted vampires/sin-eaters, and I'm curious as to whether anything will (if it even reasonably CAN) be done to rein Mages in. That said, I have a lot of faith in these staffers right now.
The player base so far has been nothing but friendly and welcoming. That's not to say there's no chance of the usual MU melodrama eventually cropping up, but there's a good foundation here, right now.
If folks are looking for a good time playing 1E, mixed template, and if they've been turned off by similar projects for whatever reason, I think San Fran is 100% worth checking out right now.
-
Staff here are pretty cool, will work with people, and are pretty willing and able to let someone's story run in my experience.
It's also getting super packed, sphere's are being closed due to overpopulation and lack of support.
If you're solid with 1E nWoD and like to help out, they could use it for sure.
-
How is the Vampire sphere looking? I ave shied away from most of the new games because they use 2e and my knowledge of 2e is extremely lacking, but 1e is old hat for me.
-
I'm not sure about the other spheres, but Approval for Mortal or even someone looking at your character is exceedingly slow. I'm generally alright with a day or two but we're at four days now without even a peep.
-
@dnvnquinn
There isn't a dedicated mortal person yet, so I think mortals are being looked at by the Mage staffer, which is really really swamped. I just put off making my Mortal+ for a while. I'm not sure they were expecting this rush. -
6 days and counting for Mage.
-
@peasoupling But I expect unpaid volunteer staff to be on top of the ball! Even at the cost of their own personal lives!
-
I am amazed that the game is in alpha. I have been on games that were officially fully open and done that had less stuff together than these guys.
-
The hallmarks of a good and organized staff base.
