Ive been super into Zeal and Ardor lately. Like Blues/Spirituals + Black Metal?
-
Ska-P's latest album, Game Over is absolutely amazing (but you really need to know Spanish).

I can echo (from a year ago) St vincent and pomplamoose, and I think anyone in the world should listen to Gogol Bordello - Start Wearing Purple, Dogs were Barking, American Wedding, Illumination, I Just Realized...also the best live show I have ever been to, even in a small DC club.

Has Kimbra been mentioned?
Kimbra.
Featured as the woman on "Somebody I Used To Know", and the best part of that song. And almost everything else I've heard her do.
This is very belated, but Gotye's other stuff is really good, too, notably 'Save Me', 'Heart's A Mess', 'Dig Your Own Hole', and 'Bronte'.
'Seven Hours With A Backseat Driver' is also solid, as well as 'Thanks for Your Time'.

The Interrupters "She's Kerosene"
It's like the ska-punk from the late 90s popped up two decades later to look at your thirty-something ass and ask when you decided to start taking life so seriously and really, I'm sort of fine with that.

Let's not forget Wanderlust King if we're going for their songs that get you absolutely pumped.

They are /amazing/ live and absolutely the nicest people in person, just all around a fantastic band.

^ Very true. I've actually lost count of how many times I've seen them perform. Probably around ten, and it's never been a bad show. Ever. Not once.

Los Ageless has been my no-shame on-repeat song lately. Raw but not angry.
Crush by Tessa Violet, too, who I discovered through Pomplamoose. I like the video more than just the song, but because I like the surreal camera treatment and that she looks like a normal average every-day person.

Lord Huron - Meet Me in the Woods
Lord Huron - The Yawning Grave
I've just really fallen into Lord Huron. Everything I've listened to by them has just transported me. Really great stuff.
-
@zobi I'm diggin this right now.
-
@wretched Good stuff, right? I am hooked.
-
The singer is the big guy with the mohawk. Very atmospheric.

If you're into atmospheric folk rock/metal, I will happily recommend, like, half a dozen Scandinavian and Mongolian bands to you, babe.

Mongolian and Scandinavian folk metal is my jam. I have a whole playlist made up of it. Probably my most played. Though lately I keep listening to the song Monkey Boy by Kontrust. It isn't even a good song but damn is it stuck in my head.
