I got my tickets for Star Wars. Unfortunately, between checking at Alamo a couple days ago and them NOT being on sale yet and checking last night, the 'reasonable bedtime' showings sold out so........ I gotta take the 20th off and/or take a half day. Womp womp.

So excited for this Star Wars. Haters gonna hate. I'm loving it.

I quite liked Doctor Sleep. It's a slow burn. More thriller than horror for sure. Nice balance of levity to the story telling (even horror or drama or sad etc should still have its humorous parts). The visuals it had were well done.

I know recreating and recasting every role almost 40 years later is bound to be difficult but I thought they did a great job.

If it's your kind of film? You'll prob enjoy it.

Jojo Rabbit. Holy shit. It's...1/2 comedy and 2/3 drama and I know that doesn't add up except it's a Taika Waititi film, so it totally does. Amazing film.

@reimesu I saw this today too. Very good movie!

Fair warning to anyone considering it, they tuck (as one might not be surprised given the topic) one or two real gutpunch moments in there amidst the goofy Nazi satire.

Terminator: Dark Fate was solidly okay. I mean, not full-blown amazing and OMG dredging up all of my childhood fangirl freakout over those movies, but. Linda Hamilton is wrecking some goddamn robots and I'll always show up for that.

As we watch 'Evolution' for the millionth time in my household (it is a family favorite), I am reminded to tell everyone to go watch it if you haven't, it's hilarious. 2001. It is not -- well, just watch it. It's streaming on Amazon.

We just got to that part. I think this is currently my favorite, lol. We've been binging the X-files lately too though, since we realized recently that the spawn has never seen it.

I saw Terminator: Dark Fate yesterday. I quite liked it. I especially liked the "twist".

                              I really fucking liked 1917.

Like, I've been looking forward to it for a while (which is why I was thrilled to get sneak preview passes!), but man. It was better than I thought it'd be. It was really, really good. Good story. Good pacing. Beautiful cinematography. Highly recommend. It comes out (limited release) Christmas Day, so if you're a Christmas Day moviegoer, I absolutely recommend it.

No one's mentioned this yet, but Knives Out was a fantastic amount of fun for anyone who's ever vaguely liked Agatha Christie type mysteries. The cast is phenomenal, the acting is brilliant, and several of the cast seem to be having the "I'm getting PAID for this? This job is the BEST!" kind of time in their roles.

I don't know what Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was about ('Hollywood', probably) but I know I loved it and I couldn't stop watching until the end.

***=Also I spent the whole movie waiting to see if Brad Pitt's character would kick as much ass as it was hinted in the trailer***

and as it turns out he didn't have to since his dog soloed the bad guys for the most part. Goddamn it went from "I hope they don't hurt the puppy" to "holy shit I'm kinda feeling sorry for them now".

I am trying to imagine anyone but Daniel Craig making Blanc's dialogue work. I don't think anyone could. It's so amazing. This movie is so amazing.

                                            Saw Cats tonight.
You get past the weirdness pretty quickly; in part I think because it is like watching the show and the dancing is distracting from the 'omg they're furry and tails and..'

                                            Anyway.

Whole movie worth it for Jennifer Hudson singing Memories. At least imo.
