Well. Fuck.
I had no idea he had cancer. That is really sad.
At least it seems that it was private for him and his family. What the fuck. That's horrible.
I am absolutely gutted by his death.
He did those last five films after the diagnosis. What an incredible person.
Hopefully it was out of passion, and he exited stage right doing something he loved.
Learning about the passing of Chadwick Boseman was a punch in the gut. The absolute joy in watching him play T'challa with such strength and gravitas was amazing. And yes, I'm gonna "as a Black person" this, because yes, it meant a lot to me as a Black person.
And then to find out that he'd been working on all those films, and many more, while laboring under a terminal illness...it hits even harder.
Rest in Peace and Power.
@Waller Though he's well known for that role, he delivered amazing performances as Jackie Robinson in "42", James Brown in "Get on Up", and one more historical figure I'm forgetting. This man was a phenomenal actor and I'm incredibly crushed by his loss. I'm glad that he at least was able to control the narrative of his last four years, then have his final moments at home surrounded by his wife and family.
