MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)

@Testament I mean.
Some humor wouldn't go amiss.
But I honestly really like the setting and the characters. I'd really want to play either Seras or Alexander Anderson.
-
@SquirrelTalk If you're talking about World Wide Wrestling then, yeah, I don't think it'd work well for a MUSH. I honestly don't like it for tabletop either. Were I to do a game I'd use Wild World Wrestling. Or a slimmed down version of it. It is a stripped down version of the Know Your Role RPG.

In no particular order...
Cyberpunk RED
OC-only Superhero game
Scion (either edition)
Deadlands
5E Birthright (D&D L&L setting)I'm an idea guy; I can't code to save my life
A Scion game not run by a crazy person would be great.

I'd really love to make a Pro Wrestling MU
And a Mortal Kombat MU
And a Sonic The Hedgehog MU that isn't run by crazy people.
Maybe a Hellsing MU with the power level scaled down?
That's not gonna happen, though.
Mortal Kombat would make a great MUSH, I see no real reason it wouldn't be doable outside of some much needed world building perhaps.
Sonic MU not run by crazy people is impossible.
Pro Wrestling MU would be tricky.
-
When Scion Second Edition was preparing to come out I really wanted to make a game based on it. Then it came out and I just hated how they implemented the Storypath System.
-
@ZombieGenesis I mean Wild World Wrestling, yeah. I'd want it to be all kayfabe. Still relatively grounded, but with room for, y'know, wrestling vampires and guys who may or may not be possessed by demons and stuff on occasion. Probably let people have lots of alts. I like that it lets you play referees and managers/valets as well.
-
Sonic MU not run by crazy people is impossible.
Not true. I'm relatively well adjusted and care a lot about fairness, and have a low tolerance for creepers. But yeah.
Guilty Gear would also make a hell of an MU, but I have a real soft spot for Mortal Kombat's setting and characters.

I played (and Staffed for a bit) on Monsters & Moshpits back in the day. That's the only Scion game I've been aware of. Pika & the rest of staff were a decent crew, AFAIR.

Any mush not run by a crazy person would be great.
You have to be a crazy person to run a mush. It just--you have to be, to a certain extent. Not BAD crazy necessarily, but like--it is not a job for muggles.
-
@Sunny Well. Okay. Not run by someone who's a malignant tumor on legs.
-
-
I think Mortal Kombat would make a fantastic MU. Just look at the playable roster of characters you have in 11 right now. Cyborg Ninjas, regular ninjas, movie stars, special forces agents, wizards, gods, ghosts, Rambo, the Terminator, Robocop, The Joker, Spawn. Set it during the Outworld invasion of Earth and I think you have a setting ripe for RP.
-
Yeah, that would be great. We see it so often because those people tend to have the free time to devote.
--
The amount of time, energy, and bullshit involved with running a game is astronomical. The number of hours you have to put in all week every week is ridiculous. If you have time for a full time job at the same time, you've given up getting a full night's sleep most nights (weekends are great). You spend precious "free time" hours mediating interpersonal drama between strangers on the internet. WHO DOES THIS FOR FUN?
yeah. Game runners are awesome, but you gotta have something. Or be superhuman, I do still know two superhumans that run games.
-
@ZombieGenesis Agreeeeeeeed. Heck, you could do a beta invite-only run of an AU of the first tournament or two, or go full AU and re-imagine specifics of events to be better suited to MU play.
Dibs on Mileena and maybe Sonya if it ever becomes real.
(EDIT) I don't think I'd include the cameo bonus DLC characters, though.
-
@SquirrelTalk Heh, no. Those were included mainly as examples of what is possible. Want to play a demon from hell? Or an insane clown? You'll fit right in here.
-
@ZombieGenesis Fair. Heck, 'demons from hell' is a legit faction. Though I'd probably keep all evil folks under the umbrella of 'Outworld' until plots are ready to move forward to, like, Shinnok and Onaga or whatnot.

Doing all of this work with R. Talsorian's Interlock system - I'd love to do a game based on Gundam, or Macross using Mekton Zeta. preferably Macross, but I just don't think there's the audience out there for the series anymore. >.<

There's like always a super active mecha anime game going on. There's kind of a massive audience for those themes.

@Kumakun FUNimation is streaming the original Gundam starting tomorrow. And I think they have the rights to the other series. So, maybe the base will be there.

I mean literally any mecha game gets like 80 logins practically overnight. I think the base is there.

Actually started work on my Boom! MMPR/Kamen Rider joint. Doing the hard part of learning python to do it in evennia first.
I think I hate myself.
