It's a long and geeky story involving SEAChat and Nephilim. But gone by it for decades now.
-
@Arkandel Its a thing, as you can see. I don't get it much on say ESO, other than the occasional accusation of being a pre pubescent boy by sound. I do get a lot of 'hold up, Dave is a girl?!' But on mu*? I think most girls have been accused of being a dude. I like boobs. I played in the early 90s when it wasn't a super girl hobby to rp and we didn't have skype to prove otherwise. Also I like to say bitches a lot. I'm super mature.
If I ever was to be a burlesque dancer I'd steal @Miss-Demeanor as a name. It's a really good one. Luna is a decent crazy stripper name. I'm too old for that though. They'd make me work lunch shift with the other old fat strippers.
-
@Usekh How do you say it? In my head you're use-kay. I'm almost sure it's use-kuh but I can't make that happen.
-
@Luna Yeah, stripping is a young woman's game. I could totally go for some burlesque-ing, though. Now we need a cabaret of burlesque women using Miss based puns for their stage names.
-
@Miss-Demeanor That would be awesome actually!
-
@Luna Right??

Me and a friend were watching music videos and smoking. A Tupac video came on followed by a 50 cent video. I said to her "Oh my god! It's like Thug Heaven! Take me to thug heaven!" We started laughing hysterically. Whenever she'd see me she'd say "omg! It's Thugheaven!" This happened right around the time I started an account on SNARK/WORA.
It made more sense back then, but it's the name I had on the old board so...

Not as young a woman's game as you may think...

My WORA name. I used to never post because I am pretty sure I don't have much important or worth saying.
-
Sao was my staff name because it was the name of my alt on HT that became my nickname. At the time I first made a tumblr I was playing the Hulk on an Avengers game, so it seemed reasonable. I also never say anything because I never have anything worth saying, so. . .

Long, long time ago, in a Mush far, far away... which name escapes me now, my character had a pet Norwich terrier puppy named Scissors, and people were always curious about the name. I liked it enough to use the name again for a subsequent character on Gen-X (based in 1980's Seattle), a constantly bristling Bone Gnawer street urchin with high Rage that's barely contained. I enjoyed playing her so much I started using the moniker.

@Luna
I always say it in my head as U sec ... almost like he is going for a subtle way of saying the reader sucks. -
Misadventure is a cause of death in insurance. I make plenty of mistakes so it seemed appropriate.
I had considered mischievous dogs. I was so disappointed in humanity when a small woman was mauled to death by two dogs, and the crime was "Keeping mischievous dogs". I decided to not go with that.
-
@tragedyjones Im sure 36 is too old. Or should be.
-
@tragedyjones Let me put it this way then... stripping is an activity meant for women in PHENOMENAL shape. Shit's hard work, man.
-
Not sure about stripping, but pole dancing definitely is!
-
Yeah. Pole dancing is hard. Stripping isn't. I have seen way more strippers just lean against the pole than actually pole dance. The hard part about stripping is dealing with the customers.
-
As someone whose job requires them to be on their feet for 6-8 hours at a time... I can't even imagine having to do it in 4 in spike heels. Hence... hard. ^_^ But yes, any stripper worth her clear heels will be able to work the pole. And to work the pole, you gotta be in great shape. Anything else is just lazy. And I got no time for lazy ass strippers. EARN THAT DOLLAR, WOMAN!

I always thought it was more of a you-sekh, with the kh having a hard g or j sound, a la Russian.
Same, 'cept I go with more of an 'ooh' sound instead of a 'you' sound.
