I know that the usual complaint is people who reply all unnecessarily, but: people who don't reply all. How the fuck am I supposed to know if these ads were approved when the person approving them insists on replying to one person who is not me and who no longer works here.

I have a constant and crippling fear of becoming this kind of person. I am grateful for the slang, "Don't Be That Guy"; it is a mantra of calm.
I take back whatever nice things I said about my job.
I've been having problems with a log scaler (employed by a separate company, but works in the same booth as me) these past few weeks. She's been making snide little comments about me going to hell for not accepting Jesus, insinuating i'm gay, other sort of quiet little hateful things when there is nobody else around.
Today, I put in my earbuds and turned on my music so I wouldn't have to hear her. I turned the company radio (where we communicate with the mill) up loud so I could hear it over my music. I hear shrieking after a few minutes of this and she is screaming at me to turn the radio down, or she'll -MAKE- me turn it down. I tell her 'What? I can't hear you. The radio is too loud!' A few times. Why? Because -FUCK HER-, that's why.
She gets more riled up. Picks up an industrial log stapler (If you've never seen one, imagine a giant chunk of heavy metal that is designed to punch industrial staples into logs. It's a dangerous tool.) and waves it at me, threatening me with it. Literally waving it at me, not just holding it. Has it over her head and everything. Says if I don't turn the 'goddamn' radio down, she'll make me turn it down or knock me down and turn it down herself.
So I was just physically threatened at work today. About an hour ago. I had to stand with the woman for about 45 minutes waiting for my (late) relief to show up so I could get the hell out of there. I called my bosses about it and it's going up the chain.
Odds are, she won't be punished and nothing will be done. I really, really don't feel comfortable going to work under those conditions. I legitimately felt threatened. People have been telling me 'You should have let her hit you! Then she'd go to jail!'
...I really don't care about her punishment. I don't want giant fucking staples in my head or to be beaten to death by a metal bludgeon. Her going to jail is no fucking consolation if I'm dead or injured. I just want to go to work and not feel like I'm unsafe. I can deal with the racism. The bigotry. The constant insinuations as to my sexuality. The constant snide comments about my lack of religion.
What I can't deal with is feeling like I might be attacked by a co-worker at any time. It's a shitty, shitty situation.
I hate the fact that I can't have a different opinion of how to do something, or offer an unvoiced viewpoint without couching it in a million different conditionals, lest I be seen as 'difficult' and 'intimidating.'
I hate the fact that even though I'm a highly educated individual with an area of expertise that none of my coworkers have, I'm basically expected to be an automaton and produce exactly what my coworkers would, if only they had more time.
@Admiral That's horrible. Don't know what state you live in or whether you care to pursue it, but around here that sort of behavior would be grounds for filing assault charges with the police. Don't know how long you can wait to file a complaint, but something to bear in mind in case there's a next time.

You have been civilly-assaulted. If you are in Ohio, then you have been the victim of menacing.
Your employer may not be held liable under a theory of vicarious liability for your co-worker's threats; however, they could be held negligent if they take no steps to address the situation and the behavior persists. Under a negligence theory, the issue would be whether a reasonably-prudent employer would take steps to ensure no further harm was done. And, yes, being the target of verbal threats of bodily harm does constitute "harm," even if the monetary figure may be low.
No employer wants to be the target of an employment-related lawsuit. Might want to look into plaintiff's employment attorneys in your area to consult.
I came here to complain about spilling my iced coffee all over my desk first thing into the office, but then I read @Admiral's post and -- damn.
@Admiral To add to the suggestions, her comments directed at you can be considered harassment by most employers and Human Resources departments. Aside from reporting her to the chain of command, I would cry havoc and let slip the dogs of HR on her, hound her from so many corners that she has no choice but to quit. If she wants to proselytize, she can go work at a church or be Reverend Bakker's next mistress.
Yeah that's kind of the definition of a hostile work environment, I would think.
