Good Things

One of my best friends and his fiance came up for LARP and BESM for this weekend.
So we went out to lunch at a good, new restaurant (and I had a delicious shaved steak sammich with creole mustard, spicy pickles and carmellized onions).
What I didn't know til we got done with lunch and were talking was the ulterior motive my friend had for inviting us to lunch before BESM:He asked me to be the best man at his wedding.
I was floored, and honored, and of course said yes. His fiance later told me, she and he were talking about it and I was their first and, in their opinion, best choice for the position. So even more flattered. I have until next December to work out the details on my end (like my speech, oh LORD). But it reaffirmed why the two of them are some of my best RL friends.

Let's see...
I continued my burgeoning personal fitness program. I went to the grocery store and spent wisely. I got to see my best friends daughter, and it will be a week since I broke down and texted my ex girlfriend.

Double posting for more upvotes: Actually took my Prozac today. Been surviving without it since around Christmas or so.

The dentist who does not suck can fix my filling with roughly zero notice, affordably. (The filling that fell out within 48 hours of the dentist who does suck putting it in.)
Bonus: maybe the lovely assistant who keeps showing me her growing collection of pinup girl tattoos will be there.

First good party of the new year. Totally had a moment with a girl I have some feelings for; she serenaded me with a Poison song.

Right on, @Wizz.

Looks like they will be able to save the surgical implant that allows for easy access to my shitty veins. No only means no more half a dozen attempts every time they want to take blood out or put something in, means the delay to the actual treatment that it was supposed to help will be minimised.
Means 2 more sessions of cleaning and rebandaging, one in the middle of a PRP, but eh Main thing is fingers crossed the cathaport stays.

@Usekh
I was thinking about you the other night Usekh. I'm glad to see you're still around and still trucking along. Much good vibes and luck, as always. -
I'm thankful for Starbucks breve as it is getting me through the last revision of my thesis. And I'm thankful that it's petty shit like that that I'm thankful for. And for college being something that is happening at all. And the guy that got me into college.

Lunch delivered to you at work. And it's the best grilled cheese sandwich (3 types of cheese, herbed tomato and bacon) ever. SO VERY GOOD.
And it's my birthday. I understand that's suppose to be a good thing. (In truth it tends to run hit or miss, but I'll fall on the "Optimistic" side this year.)

I am thankful for having a Keurig at the office I'm working at. I can bring my own K-Cups and have my delicious Creme Brulee coffee all day long!
-
I get my tea kettle this weekend and hope my tea arrives soonish. I gotta cut back on the caffeine, but at least there's lots of cool tea.
-
I'm graduating with merits, two days before my kid's 21st. Nice week at home.

@Bobotron
Cheers. I haven't been given much longer. The current treatment is an, expensive, last roll of the dice. But until the cathaport started messing up it was going well. So fingers crossed. -

I have something awesome as hell.
So, if you are articulate, seem a good person, and stand still at my Church, a Ministry shall fall upon thy head. I stood still, and discovered myself leading Sanctuary, our Church's LGBTQ Outreach movement. So far we've helped our congregation move towards being a 'Believe Out Loud' congregation - publicly affirming that all persons are welcome in our church without regard for sexual orientation or gender identity.
Last meeting was big. We decided that we /will/ have a table at Pride, and that we're going to march too.
And we talked, and we discerned that the persons most in need of help in the community are homeless LBGTQ persons. We're going to take several steps: we'll invite them to join us for a hot meal and fellowship at our meetings, with no pressure to express any faith at all. Just a safe space with warm food and a chance to talk openly to people who will listen. We're going to arrange to be able to hand out bags of items like soap and deodorant, snacks, bottled water, feminine hygiene supplies, definitely warm socks and gloves.
This is huge. After a very long time just...idle...there's something in my life now that gives me driving purpose. It's exhausting, and hard work, but it needs doing.
I'm also considering becoming a Deacon, although not urgently pressing to do it - I have to finish one more year of classes anyhow, before proceeding. (The last year is Theology. Ack...weighty topic.)

I too have one of those in my office, right by my desk. No creme brulee, but just having the machine is awesome.

Got the green light to look into programs so that I can get my esthetician's license. I already have a very good client base for that via my massage practice, and it will allow me to bring in some extra $$ in ways that will be sustainable longer, and are compatible with stuff I already do.
So I am program touring starting next week.

The end of the World is canceled. Found my compsci book.

That's okay. Your professor would have just ignored the end of the world and continued on like it didn't happen, forcing you to start your own class just for people who'd rather lose their compsci books.
