When I get my hands on a copy of the Idagram Chronicles (Idiot Chronicles? I seriously cannot remember any Werewolf pseudo-language nonsense), I will start the long process of converting it to code.

The sooner the better, if anyone wants to help in that regard.

I salute you. Good luck! πŸ˜„

Also, just throwing this out there, if they do end up allowing multiple Super alts, I am looking for people to brainstorm an Invictus Dynasty, because that is a cool thing that can be done.

I see the Demon stuff on your wiki is getting filled in. Had a quick question. If I'm not planning to play a Demon, are any of the new books worth getting for non-Demon content (i.e. additional merits or items non-Demons can use)? If so and you only had the money to buy one of the new books, which would you recommend (you being anyone whose read them all)?

The God-Machine Chronicles is a must have for anyone playing in Eldritch. Requiem 2nd Edition (i.e. Blood & Smoke) for anyone playing Vampire. There are no more books in 2nd Edition besides those and Demon.

For the Coder's sanity, New Werewolf v2 is not slated for an initial supernatural sphere.

Correction: New Werewolf v2 will be slated for an initial supernatural sphere.

I thought you guys weren't opening with any supers? Or was that just for soft open?

Way I heard (or at least understood) it, they're opening Mortal/Mortal+ first, then when they are ready, with the GMC supers.

Maybe what @Thenomain means is that when that second wave comes they'll only include Vampire/Demon.

We will be doing several phases of opening, one of which will be called "soft open" for whatever reason. Humans (not mortals, humans) come first, then the Demon and Vampire game lines.

(edit: the rest of my frustration has been deleted, except for this:

                        Aspirations help file.
                        Aspirations code.

                        Thanks.)

CORRECTION: Werewolf, Demon, and Vampire are slated to open simultaneously.

                          Sorry for the confusion.

I actually once wrote up a Nosferatu member of the Cockscomb Society who was, no shit, a straight-up pastiche of J.R. Ewing.

                            He was awesome.

Time to beat the dead horse here.. as I'm sure you are all aware..

Clutch/Protectorates are now a core and central part of werewolf organization.. As it was meant to be when the idea was first introduced in Blood of the Wolf, basically half a rather lengthy chapter ignored time and time again by multiple games.. which all continued to fail as Werewolf spheres for the same exact reasons over and over.

Will Eldritch be adapting the clutch as part of its core setting?

What I am hoping to do as a player, and I am hoping Coin will back me, is present the Ordo Dracul as a legitimate secret society -- the sort of group that conspiracy theorists see manipulating everything. The sort of organization that a certain type of powerful person is (literally) dying to join.

Of course, you could present the Invictus the same way. I really like the rebranding of it, with obscene wealth and disgusting power as the dividends of aggressively working to maintain the Masquerade.

I really liked the book, although I only had an hour or so to flip through it and look at the theme - I still need to look over the Lodges and the organization @Kireek pointed out, and have barely looked at Rites (I've had enough magic shit for my PCs for a while πŸ™‚ ).

I'll be playing a Rahu ... something on Eldritch. If anyone wants to talk pack, PM me. Preferably if there's an alpha involved, the character I have in mind is no leader. I'm also pretty open to concepts for other wolves/WB who knew each other in their childhood or whatnot.

I can't believe you Ark! How could anyone NOT want to play an Irraka after reading that book? To be fair, there is no mechanical systems for the clutch/protectorate system, it's just that there is now basically a three page explanation of them that says- these are not uncommon, they are a core part of theme.

I'm definitely going to be playing either a Gibbous or a Rahu on Eldridge as well... my fellow friend/packmate will be apping in an Irraka

Just like how the Pure and Forsaken are still ideological enemies.. or really Rivals now is my impression from this book... but on the surface at least it looks like they nearly are not as blood thirsty towards each other as before. Convenient scape-goats or great people to send your problems to, but there seems to be a philosophy now between the pure and the forsaken was like the Shia/Sunni split before the Iranian revolution, unless the other side has something your side wants, try not to think about them.. seriously. Than there is a no holds bar there if they have something you do want! At least. that is my first impression from the book... and it doesn't help that the pure have very little written on them in their main area, it's all just hints, whiffs of what hte pure now are.

I thought about it. I just find it awkward to play an overly secretive/sneak character on a MU* since it often involves purposefully staying out of the spotlight, not sharing plot seeds with people, etc. Actively striving to remain under the radar isn't conductive to playing and meeting people.

There are other ways to do it, of course, but no concepts I really felt like playing leapt out at me (conversely that's also why I'm not thinking of a Demon PC). However playing a character inspired by Marv on Sin City did, so that's what I'm doing.

So should I plunk down my hard earned cash for the book? I'm kind of burned out on MUSHing and not sure I'd ever even play anywhere, but if the book is -that- good...

Edit to add: I am referring to the new Werewolf book.

I didn't think it added that much to theme compared to before (*). The 2nd Edition refined some issues, it emphasizes the Hunt as part of Uratha's being, it streamlined some concepts which used to be on splat books, it integrated everything into the GMC mechanics (Conditions are everywhere now), etc and brought Werewolf up closer to where they were supposed to be as well in terms of power.

However if you already own the 1st Edition book you probably wouldn't care much about these additions if you didn't plan to play. If you did though then yes, it'd be well worth it.

                                            (*) In my humble opinion.
