World of Warcraft: Legion

@Apu So some results:
My warlock was level 22 on Friday night when I started leveling him up just 'cause. He's 92 as of this morning.
His last quest was somewhere in Tanaris, he still wears level 40ish gear - at some point I realized it was stupid queuing for 5-mans when I could do invasions instead. He's never even stepped foot in Outlands, Pandaria or Northrend (I need to go get some flight paths at some point though!).
If I'm invested in it a level takes about 10 minutes past 60. What I do is farm the same invasion by relogging after phase 2 until it has about 15 minutes to finish, then I actually do it all the way for the chest. making sure to kill the bosses in phase 3 since they give massive XP when they die (but don't be dead when they do or you get nothing, just tag and stay way back if needed).
The plan is to hit 100 tonight then open about, dunno, a zillion chests to fully gear up to 700+ in about a minute after.

You just have to be in the zone to get credit. Tapping a mob gives you more xp, but if you are little and worried about being ganked, you just have to be present. Dead, afk, doesn't matter.
-
@Insomnia Yeah. The real XP comes from tagging though - you still get some for just being there but ... each tagged boss is worth 50k XP, that's huge.
Edit: You can use group-finder to get an invasion on a PvE server... donefixed.
-
@Arkandel Yeah tried that. Still get the assholes who flag on purpose though.
-
I didn't think of having a lower level character could do the invasion stuff. Very interesting.
-
By way of numbers, 2 tags on a big boss gives the same xp as the full Invasion cycle.
Find your best fast cast raged attack, hit everything, once.
Let the NPCs engage things.
Run away from boss until you are out of range.By just doing the Invasions, I can get 1 level per, at level 90-100.

Yeah, with my lock I specifically went affliction to farm invasions. Agony on everything to farm soul shards then AoE when they are clustered as needed. The trick is to tag everything in phase 1, make sure to tag bosses then move away (since if you're dead you get no XP) in phase 2, then depending on whether you have flying yet either also do phase 3 by going straight to the bosses on the map else relog-reset if you have time to do more.
The only case I stayed to the end is if I got bored, had stuff to do or the event was going to end soon for that location - and it still left me with more unopened chests than I'll need to gear the character with at 100.
Now if I can just find a decent RBG guild... <mutters>

Yeah the bosses and everything else start to scale with your level starting at level 10. So the Level 100 is going to see level 100, meanwhile you, attacking the same mob see a level 37. And if you ding during an invasion, they level with you, they aren't what ever you started out with.
make sure to tag bosses then move away (since if you're dead you get no XP)
I've dinged, while dead in Azshara, having never touched an invasion boss or mob (died to the local fauna since I was level 14 so, my bad.) Usually I just hide in the Alliance building right at the start there.

I shall do this, then, since I am kind of burnt out on doing random dungeons at the moment. See how much further I can get my DK.
-
@Apu I went from 14 to 48 yesterday, mostly hiding. I only really all out attack in Westfall / Dun Morogh since you have to type /pvp in the starting areas, even if you tag someone accidentally.

I'm playing. It's @Misadventure's fault. Anyone wanna play things with me?
-
@Cobaltasaurus After Tuesday I'll be queuing for 5-mans often while leveling. If you want a pocket healbot, you're on my friends' list.
-
I'd play with folks but Blizzard continues to deny our cross atlantic romance.

Perhaps someday it will be one world.

My main for Legion will be the restoration Druid. I strongly considered a mistweaver Monk monk instead, since they are rarer which bears some advantages on its own, but their mana conservation is annoying. Perhaps I'm making a mistake - judging a class at level 100 instead of 110 - but we'll see.
Druids also get to sneak around for quest objectives and eventually insta-flight form will be awesome as usual so there's that.

Less than twenty four hours for Legion!
Are you prepared?

I have the Talent that says I am Prepared?

@Misadventure A fellow stealther! Let's fight crime.

My Druid, Taurobolium, whose surgically picked transmogs will have gone to shit by tonight when he'll be in mismatched green drops from random boars and rewards for killing ten wolves.
