I really hate it when the Director comes down to my kitchen (I operate the satellite kitchen for memory care patients at work) and asks me what I'm doing. When I respond I'm making dessert (from scratch, because.) he then replies, "Oh, I thought they were going to have you just take from upstairs. We have a pastry chef so there's really no reason for you to have to."
... right the fuck in the middle of me having spent the last 5 minutes +/- whipping cream because they won't buy me a kitchen aid...
I wonder if he realizes he was talking to someone who routinely sharpens and hones their own knives and then fabricates down whole sides of cows... (doubt it).
The best part was later going up to the Exec chef and clarifying with her:
Me: "Just to clarify, do you want me to use desserts from up here?"
Her: "Well you'll have to." (With an attitude like somehow I'm the person who did wrong)
Me: "Okay." (Slight quizzical tilt, trying to imply an offer of 'give me more info')
Her: "I already told [pastry chef] to make extra."
Me: "... Okay! See you Thursday." (Thoughts: /TOLD HER... WHO THE FUCK WAS GOING TO TELL ME!?!/)To note, every one of my bosses acted as though I already knew and it was as though either I had ignored their mandate or the pastry chef had... why can't bosses just over communicate to make sure everyone is on the same page?

A side-effect of the migraines is I keep losing words. It's worse if I talk out loud, but it def. happens in text, too.
I pretty much constantly am in a state of 'it's on the tip of my tongue.' As a writer, it fucking blows.

Inter-company emails that just have me on BCC should not give me stress first thing in the morning. Or having to resist the urge to tell someone they're a sanctimonious prick and that working with them has not and never will be a pleasure. I hate how my boss bends over backwards to kiss ass instead of being more forthright in his responses.

Fffffffffffuck people who bathe in perfume.
I have to literally take a huge breath and hold it for like thirty seconds when this one woman in my office comes over to say hi because otherwise I gag.

I would like to upvote this like 50 times. When I worked as a security guard I sat next to another guard who wore so much flowery acidic perfume that it literally burned my throat and nostrils to the point I got sick for a few days.

Did you tell her that she smells like a mortician? That usually works.
Naw. It wouldn't do any good and I'd just be told I was being rude. I did shake her off a few times before she stopped fucking rubbing my shoulders out of the blue. [shudder]

Then stop showering and hang around her a lot. And when she says you stink, you can tell her that she is rude.
I have good senses for a person that smokes and drinks a lot. Perfume makes my head spin. And, when I'm not with a client, I don't mind telling someone that they need to tone down on the perfume/cologne because it makes them smell like a pedophile. (True story, I've said this.) And when they laugh at the analogy, I point out: "no one likes to smell like tears."

I don't know where else to put this, but it was on a MU* Facebook group I'm subscribed to today, so perhaps some of you might want to know. I'll paste the post as-is:
To those who knew him, I have received word that Jerusalem's player (from The Reach) has passed away unexpectedly and suddenly yesterday.
I don't know anything further at this time, but if people happen to be looking for him, he has left us.

@Arkandel There was a post that went up about it on Fallcoast.

He also played Tobias on Haunted Memories, where a lot of people enjoyed his RP, and Ouroboros over at Fallen World.
I understand that his hospitalization was a suddden illness last week. His contributions to this hobby were varied and he will be missed.
-
This may be the person posted about on FC also, who was Lunargent there.
I only ever interacted with him briefly, but he seemed to be a pretty good dude and I had a high opinion of him based on those admittedly limited interactions, but let's be real -- if somebody's a good and decent sort to a nobody, they're probably a good and decent sort to more or less everybody, which makes this especially sad.
We need more people like this, not less.
That in the past year this hobby has started to lose some of our people is eye-opening to how long a lot of us have been at this, how long we've shared the same virtual playgrounds whether we realize it at any given time or not.

That's really sad. I did know Tobias, we played on HM many times.

This has been some awful, awful news.

Does anyone know his characters on TR? I'm horrible at remembering what staff goes to what alt, or what staff covered what.

I noticed today that my beard had gotten a bit unruly. So because I like to keep my beard neat, short, and trimmed, I decided that before my usual shower in the evenings, I would trim it down, shower, then shave.
I go upstairs, and picked up my clippers without really checking to make sure that the guard was on it, that lets me adjust the levels. Nope, didn't think about it, and just turned it on. I noticed right away after the first stripe, the length of exposed cheek and stood looking in the mirror in mild shock and horror, which only then turned to annoyance, given my lack of awareness.
I mourned the loss of my glorious and beautiful beard, but there was little I could do. So now I've had to go back to the goatee until it grows back in.
Nothing horrible, just really annoying, especially when it could've been easily prevented.

Migraine got so bad this afternoon that I had to leave my out-of-town guest to his own devices (and reschedule some of my work) for a couple of hours while I laid down.
I hate how much it's begun to affect my daily life. I have some days where getting through work is the best I can do.
I just want it to stop.

As a chronic migraine sufferer, I know this feeling so much.
Sympathies.
