Also, punk lesbian Acanthus are canon. The picture's right there in the book!

I would once again like to say that I feel it would've been absolutely perfect if her pits weren't shaven.

So I just spoke with the Head Wiz (Elphaba), and I'll be running some metaplot-y things to get more plot stuff out there.

So now is a great time to join or come back for some cool stuff going on. Oh yeah, I'm Reverie there.

Seems like that place is already fading and people are already moving on to Reno, the new hotness, staff included.

@Warma-Sheen I think you're under the assumption FW staff and Reno staff was ever different. Several of us are and have always been (since the inception of FW) working on both games. There's no issue with juggling duties.

And, as @Ganymede says, many MUers I know are active on more than one game. We are mage-only, so if people want to get their vamp or wolf on, I don't think it's any sort of issue.

That said, I know I personally have been falling short on my job and ST duties. It has nothing to do with other games, and everything to do with big changes to my real life situation. Should settle down soon, and I'll be back at it!

Same as always. New game opens, players flow from one container to the other hoping for more activity, new fresh roles, etc. Also two spheres are more than one so it covers more niche interests while Mage's more complex mechanics aren't a hit with everyone.

The only people I know who have left FW are Incrociare and his crew, and the activity that they brought. (note: Other people may have left, I just don't know them. That reminds me...)

Mind you, one game has Mage, one game has Werewolf and Vampire. I bet if someone opened a Changeling game, that even more people would play on two different games.

Behold the return to, you know, where we were ten years ago.

I really did like that crew on the whole. There were things that drove me bugnuts bananas, but I could say the same thing for each and every one of you.

In this sense, I meant that people can and do play multiple characters at the same time. It used to be damn near epidemic, complaining about people not paying attention to one active scene because of another. I'd complain about that, but not be terribly disappointed by it.

@Thenomain I getcha. I think that happens on games with multiple alts, too. It is more a factor of the person than the prevalence of games available, though, I think.

For instance... I cannot multiscene. I simply can't. I totally lose all sense of the characters I'm playing and they merge into a mess in the portrayal of both until my RP sucks and I almost inevitably end up with a migraine. Since I know that limit, I avoid multi-scening at all costs. Some people are good at it enough that you can't even tell, though -- while others, you can tell a little but they're still OK at it, others... well, they suck hard at it but don't realize how hard they're sucking. 😕

                              Oh fucking well.

But the more characters you're idling on, the more likely you'll hit a scene.

See, Incro... I didn't have as big a problem with him as some did. Yes, he was completely shameless in approaching female characters through pages to get them to play with him, and it was pretty damn obvious he was working hard to create a harem there.

My actual issues were just two.

                                  1. It's Fallen World. It's a Mage game, not a dating one. At some point, possibly due to the overall inactivity and lack of things-to-do it wasn't about unlocking mysteries or fighting the Seers, it was about who was banging whom. And Incro had a hand in that. Twice I was paged asking to come along to scenes to cockblock him - that shouldn't have been necessary.

                                  2. The guy was on a lot, and while very active his activity was skewed toward a certain kind of demographic. Politics on their own can be fun (I won't go into whether the MUSH's theme was supposed to be about them, it's a separate story) but it... well if I said it felt it was means to an end maybe it'd be unfair. But maybe not, too.

                                  Those were just my impressions.

Yes in that it means you have more lines in the water, but if you know you can't reel in more than one rod at the time, sometimes you just gotta let that second or third fish go with a polite, "I'm already in a scene at the moment, but can let you know when I'm available, or would you like to try to arrange a time for later in the week?"

Sorry, mate! This time I'm going to say, "And an utterly wrong answer." The more presence one has, the more likely that presence will have an effect on things relying on presence. The larger the side of a barn, the more likely you're going to hit it. This isn't a debate question, this is statistical and physical fact.

Statistical likelihood is not a guarantee. Just because it's unlikely to happen, I can't guarantee that the USA won't be going up in flames in a few weeks' time.

@Thenomain I think we're talking about two different things here.

I'm not questioning 'there's more of a chance that you'll have someone approach you as a player for a scene if you have a number of approachable targets'.

I'm talking about that becoming an issue based on people multi-scening. There's reasonable ways for that to be handled, and unreasonable ones.

                                        Oh fucking well.

                                            @Thenomain 😛 It's true, though!

I'm wary of the black-and-whites, because they seem to get adopted as truisms pretty quick in this community• because ultimately, they're easy answers, even if they're not real or complete answers.
