The high end PC that I built in 2016 (i7-6700k, 1080 SC, 32GB RAM) is not exactly happy with the new Flight Simulator, woof. Judging from the recommendations, it's not super surprising, but I think I'm definitely going to want to rebuild this towards the end of 2021 when the new AMD socket is out as I had been planning.

Flight Sims have always been some of the more demanding games, so def. not surprising.

@Auspice I definitely remember TFX being a slideshow back in the DOS days, but I only gave MSFS X a whirl a few years ago when it was well past its prime. I guess I forgot!

I began playing FFXIV again with a friend and it's been pretty great.
I should sit down and actually play this game at some point.
Never been a better time. The first 60 levels are free to play.

Yeah, sith warrior rocks. If you don't mind hilarious spoilers, I highly suggest looking up the My Sith Is a Jerk videos on youtube. Don't say thank you or anything.

Square Enix is currently my favorite:

Yoshi.
That is one of the kindest things I think I've ever seen video game wise, it really is. How much money it is costing them, and why they're spending it.

Is anyone planning on playing WoW in Shadowlands?
I've finally found a guild I quite like and got back into raiding... only to stop raiding since it's the end of an expansion and interest is waning across the board.
-
@Arkandel I was planning on playing a bit, as for raiding, I'd need like a casual vibe. Because i've gone heavy raiding and its taken over my life, twice. Also, Horde or Alliance?

Horde, for me. I like it, but also it's much easier due to the demographics to find groups since there are simply more players on that faction (which, of course, means the imbalance only worsens over time - they really need to allow cross-grouping).
I only raid under very specific conditions. My guild had one night a week for three hours (which allowed us to clear Heroic and 1-2 bosses from Mythic). Then we had an optional second night for some Mythic pushing - we ended up going to the 5th boss, but the pre-expansion burnout ended that.
I can't imagine raiding more than that ever again. Frankly even if I had the time, which I don't, I wouldn't.

@Arkandel Horde was the only correct answer.

When you have a character you've invested time and energy in, and then you get some awesome artwork of it, that can feel great. It's true on MU*s, and it's true on MMOs, and I'm very happy with this artwork I got of my FFXIV alter-ego.
(Put under spoilers to avoid smacking people with big artwork.)

Who is this artist. I have a D&D char I'd like to get art of
-
@Auspice - A Polish artist by the name of Aleksandra Wojcik. Her Artstation page is at https://intq.artstation.com/ — I saw her post that she was open for commissions on /r/HungryArtists over on Reddit, and commissioned her.
I highly recommend HungryArtists if you're looking to commission art.

The graphics don't look great but I will be cautiously optimistic. I was not a fan of the fighting system from FF: Dudes with Car, and it looks like they are using that again Hopefully you don't have to buy a shit ton of DLC for the entire story again..

Looks a bit like the FFVII remake.

Looks pretty good. I hope they'll do more with the combat to differentiate it from the original, but there was nothing wrong with the original, so I don't exactly mind more of the same.
