That was my initial experience, too. I got it close to when it first came out. It was practically unplayable on my computer because of lag. And I knew no one who played it. It's much better with other people! And with some settings changed to make taming take less time, xp come faster, etc.

It's also coming out of early access, after 2 years AND DLC. So now it's full price on PC. On PS4 you've had to buy the DLC and pay full price for a while now. And the console DLC has been delayed... again.
Not worth the full price, really.

Eh, I'm through with the PVP element of games to the point that if MMO is in the tags list on Steam, I mark it Not Interested and move on, don't even look anymore.
I was never a big MMO player, but the sheer cesspoolness of most online "communities" of PVP games is just enough to literally make me ill. Some people get off on the constant crap thrown around, but to me, I play games to connect with people and have fun. Not bitch and complain with little minds. I get enough of that in my day job.
Believe it or not, the only MMO I put any time more than 5-10 hours into was Eve Online, played for 5 years. It is known for being a brutal learning curve and rather adult approach to PVP, but somehow that actually weeded out the little kids who were just there to smacktalk and try to appear cool. You got the adults who smacktalked and tried to appear cool.
Eh. Get off my lawn.

@Rook I tried to play LoL a couple of times over the years. People are so impatient with newbies, and the only way to go through being a newbie is to play... which is made unpleasant. No, thanks.
But more and more games are multiplayer-only these days (or might as well be, since the PvE campaign is so short). Perhaps it's so they don't need to develop more advanced AI, I don't know.

If I didn't have huge ping in the NA server, I'd be way more patient with you than most people. Mostly because 1) I am naturally just bad at MOBAs and 2) I don't take them seriously.
I love trolling people who get super pissed off when I make mistakes and stuff.
I think my favorite was when I started trolling this jungler that kept crapping on me. I basically just build movement speed so he couldn't outrun me and I kept stealing his jungle kills, or, like, there's this plant that if you hit it it sends you flying in a direction and I would just activate it at the worst possible moment for him.
Like, I get it, I was being a total dick, but this guy, man--THIS GUY.
So yeah.

Our security index update this morning has a notice to people playing online video games, anyone who uses an authentication device or requests new passwords from targeted game companies; there is a new trojan virus out whose purpose is to capture those codes and links from your email if you request them digitally. Hardware authenticators are not effected.

WHY AREN'T YOU PLAYING OVERWATCH WITH ME

Hooray for new Diablo 3 season!
Hooray for addition of Nighrcrawler to the Marvel Omega PS4 roster and them giving him to me for free for being a VIP member!
Hooray Red Stripe
Hooray for beer. -
Hooray! I just got my necro to 60 in the new season, contemplating turning the diff down from torment 1. I always level up from scratch at that difficulty but, my drops have been subpar this playthrough.... since I only play hardcore, prudence says get to 70... get the set, then ramp up the difficulty.
-
@Lithium if you die in HC mode during the season, do you lose everything or can you still xfer gear after the season?
-
@Ghost It is all gone. Everything that is not in your chests goes poofs with the character.
When the season ends, they just become regular hardcore characters. After every season I have to go through tons of mail and then rearrange my chests, etc.

Because I don't have it, my computer would probably strain running it, and I don't have the money to buy it. XD

The only MMO I 'play' (and by that I mean about one to two times a year I get the itch and play for about a week) is SWtOR.
The other day someone asked me how the PVP is in it and I don't even know. I barely play with other people at all. I just like Old Republic era Star Wars and SWtOR makes playing solo so seamless that I don't have to ever interact with other people if I don't want to.
I am the most misanthropic MMO player ever. And I don't care.
Elite Dangerous is probably the most social I've ever been (outside of MU*s) in gaming. But EIC is people my age. I don't get involved in the PVP stuff (there's no push to do so, either; they need people in every 'area' anyway).
I just have no need of someone pitching a tantrum at me because they perceived I screwed up in some way (even though generally it was their fuck up they're foisting off on me).
Oh, wait, I do socialize- I have three buddies I game with on Saturday nights. We play shit like Rocket League and Golf With Your Friends and get drunk (well 2-3 of us do) and a couple of them stream it on Twitch. I can drop the link next time. >.>

I loved huttball in SWToR. Some of the best PvP I'd had in ages. Once you had people who knew how to pass the ball and use the game grid... was so much fun.
